Hubsan Zino Pro Long Range FPV Camera Drone Flight Test Review

  • The Hubsan Zino has been upgraded to allow much longer range for FPV flights of up to 4 kilometers. Other improvements include ND filter capability, and improved control gimbals. Lets take it for a test flight. Find it here bit.ly/HubsanZi... And here is an unedited demonstration of its 4K video • Hubsan Zino Pro 4K Vid...
    Pros
    Three axis stabilized gimbal.
4K video camera resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30fps. Camera also includes optional ND filter capability.
FPV video is viewed on your smartphone without need of WiFi. Instead your phone can be connected directly to the controller and drone via OTG cables.
3S 3000mah battery provides about 18 minutes flight time.
Control and FPV video range of up to 4 Km.
Advanced camera and flight mode control is available via the X-Hubsan app. Some features available through the app include Waypoints, Orbit, Optical Follow Me, Creative Video, and Line Fly. Photography parameters that can be modified include ISO, Exposure, Saturation, Contrast, and Sharpness. Video parameters that can be modified include Resolution, Frame Rate, White Balance, Color, and Video Format.
    Cons
Although capable of much longer FPV and control range than the original Zino, it is not a good idea to try to reach 4Km. The demonstrated flight time of the provided battery is about 18 minutes, and is likely not to be sufficient to return.
The drone has automatic visual apron landing capability. However, in multiple tries I was not able to get the drone to land on the apron with this feature activated. It always seems to lose the apron just before landing.
Promised features of panorama still photography and creative video have not yet been implemented in the X-Hubsan app.
Optional ND filters are also not yet available.

The first Zino1 weighs 728 gram with gimbal cover and 717 without gimbal cover. Black Zino1 from summer 2019
so if yours White at 707g without gimbal cover, then the black Zino1 also differs.
btw massive jump with more than +100m in distance from high 900ish meters to +1100 meters at 14:50 likely down to you orientated your antennas.
but 1500m under ideal circumstances.. with a 4KM claim..mehh.. you had way left in the battery and 81% and could easily have gone on and given your title hence "LONG range test" some value.
the battery indicator seems sick, it is almost dropping like second at 49% at 20:55

Hello from Oildale. I just bought zino pro because of your review. It's nice to see someone fly out to a good range but still be legal. If you know Oildale then you know about Meadows Field I live 1 block away from Airport Drive & Norris Rd so I have to drive at least 5 miles strategically because of hospitals and heliports so I think I'm going to head out to that place where the trains at sometime man to take it for a flight hope to see you out there

Quadcopter 101 I love your videos The only thing is you never push your drones far enough during the range test. I understand you don't want to lose them but if you're doing a range test video maybe you should just push it out as far as they can go and land them and go drive and get it. Just an idea keep up the good work

    Thank you for this review.
As we are not allowed to fly our drones beyond line
of sight,I think Hubsan played a cheap trick by issuing
    this version.
This range is required by professionals in for instance
SAR situations and there are drones that can do the
job much better, especially when you consider battery life.
This version only gives you bragging rights.
I'll stick to my regular Zino.

Nice quad, good review. On RTH accuracy, watching the screen 'Distance' measure as the quad descends centered over the landing pad it indicates between 0.7 and 1.1m distance. Apparently at touch down the software opts for '0.0' GPS distance no matter what the optics show.

    Hi Quadcopter 101
I purchased the pro plus probably not a good idea as my first ever drone, started off with the intention of just buying a cheap version, which now I'm beginning to think I should have gone for the basic ready to fly model's.
My question is I want to purchase a phone just for the drone, I'd prefer to buy an Android phone rather than iPhone because of the expense.
As I'm buying the phone solely for the drone use, so my questions are A, does it need to be on contract, and B, can you suggest an android phone capable for the job in hand.
Thank you for your help in this matter.

Good video, good explanation. Two pertinent doubts, the first, gyroscope calibration should always be done before a flight? the other: can the calibration of the compass be done before detecting the satellites, or afterwards? or is it irrelevant?

      into trouble.
If you want to fly far(and break the law),
you will need a much longer battery life,
like that of the Fimi X8 SE or a DJI drone.

    • @JimmyZ2500
      @JimmyZ2500 5 лет назад +1

Hubsan Zino Pro is much better than the JJRC X12. The X12 has issues with getting good GPS signals and acquiring enough satellites to take off. Also connecting to the app on your phone is somewhat tricky as well, if you connect your cell phone before the drone and controller are connected properly, you won't get it to work. Sometimes the JJRC X12 is a real pain in the ass to get connected to enough GPS satellites to take off. I even contemplated sending back the JJRC X12 because of the issues it has getting everything synced and ready to fly. The Hubsan Zino Pro acquires satellites rather quick in comparison. The gimbal and camera on the Hubsan Zino Pro is much better than that on the JJRC X12. I'm not sure about anyone else, but the JJRC X12 was not a well made drone for the price, I'd highly recommend the Hubsan Zino Pro over the JJRC X12.

@@ibrahimmohammed3899 I've only gotten around 22 to 23 minutes out of the JJRC X12, however I've gotten around 27 minutes out of the Zino Pro. Both I've tested at a hover as well as normal flying while shooting video. Each drone has stayed pretty consistent with a fully charged battery. Unfortunately every drone is a bit different, so other pilots may have different results than me. I hope this helps.

Or you can get a refurbed Parrot Anafi for $415 on Amazon...it's a FAR better value for the money.

If the hubsan Zino Pro is so bad, why are you watching this review? If you already have all the answers why are you here? I just got my hubsan Zino. I flew 27 minutes. That's pretty impressive. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have to be negative towards this guy, he's a good guy. Because you got different results doesn't mean somebody's lying. How long it flies depends on many factors. Like wind and speed settings and such.

    • @jetmartin9501
      @jetmartin9501 4 года назад

@@rrocketwhiteMaybe you misunderstood? I'm saying that when a vendor (Hubsan) claims a 33 min flight time and it only gets 18min flight time in this video with pretty conservative flying that is beyond exaggeration. As far as I could tell Quadcopter 101 was flying the Zino Pro fairly conservatively...so it couldn't be his flying style that resulted in such a short flight time. So my criticism was directed at the Zino Pro and rightfully so if it's only getting 18mins of battery life with a claim of 33mins.
