State Sen. Jason Pizzo and the Florida condo crisis | Facing South Florida

Condo owners in South Florida and elsewhere are facing increased fees and assessments because of laws passed by the legislature in the aftermath of the Surfside tragedy. Some of those assessments are running into the tens of thousands of dollars, money that many condo owners simply don't have. Despite Gov. Ron DeSantis acknowledging the crisis, there is little likelihood a special session of the legislature will be called to deal with it. CBS News Miami's Jim DeFede talks about what's next with State Sen. Jason Pizzo, who represented Surfside's district.

I'm from New England. People who moved from here to Florida wanted to live more cheaply than now seems realistic. The solution to this situation is taking a ride in a Sarco pod!

Are you for real? You think people have money under their mattress to cough up $100,000 in one check, and pay 150% more in HOA fees when they bought two years ago because they felt they could afford what it cost then? Do you think salaries went up 150%? These condos cost $250,000 back then and were bought with a down payment and now these people have a mortgage to pay. They dis NOT buy a $350,000 home because they knew they could not afford it. They were responsible. And you think kicking the bucket down the road is for fun and games? Soccer practice? Get real!

So this politician basically wants every other homeowner to bail these condo owners out by doing away with their property taxes . Those expenses are not going to go away just flipped onto the rest of the citizens of Florida . HARD PASS...this guy needs to go run for office in California , they will love him there . Another thing with this guy . He said he is the only one in Florida congress that himself lives in one of these condos . So basically this guy also wants to be one of those that has his property taxes extinguished and pushed off on other florida residents .
