At 1:07:30 and 1:31:00 you can see the switch of the delta track/section which is building for the direct connection between Budapest and Subotica. This will be use by the rail freight traffic as a direct route for cargo trains along the north-southern corridor to help avoiding Szeged-Rendező (Szeged marshalling railway yard) and the already crowded and overburdened railway crossings through the southern parts of Szeged, as can be seen in the video.

Yes, both the Serbian and Hungarian governments are promising 2h 40min from Belgrade to Budapest, when the Hungarians finish their part next year or the year after. Apparently the governments also came to an agreement that passports will be checked in Belgrade and in Budapest to speed up the process, not on the border itself.

As far as I know, the Novi Sad - Subotica express connection from the Serbian side should be completed by the end of 2024. I hope that the Hungarians will also ensure the corresponding expansion from Szeged to Röszke ;-).
