She’s giving her testimony. She has earned it. Even if they didn’t see fit to televise this moment. This is raw. She’s taking an opportunity to speak her truth. And the truth always gets out. Even when it’s not on network television.
Viola Davis is hands down the best story teller of her generation. I grasp onto every word and wisdom that flows from her beautiful enlightened soul. So much humanity and kindness ❤️. I've said it before and I'll say it again. The best actors have the most beautiful spirit. It's why we love them. They show us who we truly are. Thank you Viola for your gift, testimony and wisdom 🙌🏾🙏🏾✨
EXACTLY! I literally pictured every coin drop, heard every drip of grease from that turkey leg, the smoke rise from that lit cigarette...Just Beautiful. 🥹
Viola, five year old me and 61 year old me needed to hear your speech. Thank you! I have been told I look like you! Guess, what? That’s when I realized how beautiful I was. That was the biggest compliment of my life! Because I know that the two of us are beautiful, and our lips are alluring🤗🥰🥰🥰❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏾😇🙏🏾🫶🏾
@bluepeter128 Because she knew it wasn't going to be televised. If it had been a part of the show like it's always been for years, she would have prepared for that.
Thank you for sharing this! Had to google it to find. This is her real journey and should be seen by everyone. Empowering. The silence in the room is everything! Thank you again.
I admire this woman. She has overcome so much to pursue her dreams and simply be visible to the world as a human been. She is also a great actress that has refined her craft exquisitely. We need more Violas and more opportunities for women like her.
It’s so pitiful that they wouldn’t show this as part of the main awards ceremony. They would have to bleep out some of the f words and s words but she deserved to have this on the main stage!
She would have had to know about that long beforehand. All the references to a toilet and crapping... did she think that would get aired? The speech is heavy duty stuff, not some fluffy inventory of sweet cliches. As such it does not fit into the formulaic content that producers want to show the public.
Viola is Great! Meryl i love you! Where is Meryl speech? We are waiting your comeback in a new movie. We need you on screen and at the Golden Globes Meryl!
@@Awardshq That is a valid point. Regarding Black actresses, Angela Bassett should also be a recipient of the Cecille B Award. I'm sure she will receive the honor in the near future
@@Awardshq That has never been a deciding factor. Elizabeth Taylor was awarded it long after she had stopped starring in feature films. And why did they also give it to Oprah Winfrey if that matters so much. She's done nothing of significance outside of Miss Sofia, and has not one major acting award to her name. Whoopi is an EGOT.
@@turquoisepurple7sky151 Why?? You cannot dictate to someone what to do because they don't agree with you. Viola Davis is a great talent, but it's true that her public speeches become more and more a constant self pity ode to herself. Afican American women before her had it much worse and have remained graceful and inspiring. Diana Ross, the late Aretha Franklin and Lena Horne. It's too tiring. That's what we are commenting on.

Viola deserved to have her speech televised. This is why no one takes the Golden Globes seriously anymore.
It's not the actual Globes ceremony.
@ what are you saying? Yea I’m aware?
The show has not aired yet…..
@@pamscholtz5756thank you. Has not aired yet

That’s sad, all the special lifetime achievement awards are not televised anymore because of the new categories.
Why isn't this televised as part of the ceremony?! So stupid! I was looking forward to that!
Has not aired yet
@bluepeter128 I'm aware. This will not be part of it though. They used to literally give out the award during the show, not a couple days before.
@dustymuniz but she talked for ever. Could not have aired anyway and she was cussing.

What a masterclass this speech is . . . Thank you Ms. Davis.
What an organic story teller and testimony! You can feel her emotion! This is why Viola Davis is a legend and so deserving of this award!
Viola, you are a true Gem of this Earth.
Congratulations Queen Viola Davis!! Your story touches the soul!! Children and some adults need to hear this!🥹🥰👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾❤️

Please post Meryl’s introductory speech
Congratulations, Ms. Davis! It has been a pleasure to watch the gold you have dripped throughout the years. You deserve everything wonderful.
I hope that this will reach more people even though it was not on TV. This is so inspiring, she is such an incredible person!
This should have been in the televised awards show
Incredible that speech moved me her talent moves mountains
Thank you Ms Davis..you are everything and you deserve your flowers 💐 ❤
Oh! Viola.... what a profound and beautiful speech !!!...
Essa sim é uma das melhores atrizes americana.
Wait… They’re not gonna show the Cecil b. DeMille award on television tomorrow Night?
Congratulations Viola Davis.
WOW! WHAT A SPEECH!!!
She has a way with words I aspire to have!!

The de Mille was given to legendary actors (?) 😊
I guess their not gonna be at the televised show?
One of the best acceptance speeches ever...
Do it take all of that Viola, smh. Her and Sheryl Lee Ralph always extra in their speech’s. God bless them both out of Hollywood.
Romans 10:13 🙏🏽
That was A poem, gripping and intense. Why didn't they didn't televise the award?
So the box office achievement award gets air time but the Cecil B Demille award doesn’t. As if the Golden Globes weren’t already losing relevance.
I mean the Academy doesn't give out their life achievement awards on the telecast anymore...
@ I hate that too! They’d both rather waste time on unfunny bits and banter.
@keeganthorpe i actually enjoyed this, she is off the cuff and having fun. Hopefully they show some of it tomorrow.
Beautiful
Caption and header should read 'DeMille.

"And let me tell you something: the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity." (Viola Davis)
Seriously viola Davis? What achievement she got 😮
I’m not crying yall are crying. Woo it’s some onions up in here
Absolute insanity that she has been given this honour before the great Whoopi Goldberg.
I agree. Facts 💯. And this is coming from a Viola Davis fan!!!
Whoopi also doesn't do a ton of films at the moment. She'll get it.
