Viola Davis belongs to the top of best actresses. If only we could have seen her debut so many years earlier! It makes me so aware that equal changes were so unfair in Hollywood.
And still got a long way to go.
I adore Viola, she is a queen. Paid hommage by another Queen.
You know you’re great if Meryl Streep is going to talk about you.
Streep is as good a speaker as she is an actor, and that's a very tall order. But this might have been her absolute best delivery ever, equaled only by the talent of the recipient. In fact, she was so bloody good in "Doubt" than I'm actually going to watch it again today.
She's very well educated too
Get Meryl to do your tribute. The best of the best. Love both queens.
See the Golden Globes Cecil B DeMille Award speech where Viola honored Meryl… it’s incredible
I love Meryl Streep’s stand up comedy, she truly can do it all
Nothing is better than your piers acknowledging how talented you are Viola ,Meryl knows it ,these two extraordinary actresses respect and love each other and we do too !
From one GOAT to another
SO this speech is the response of the one that Viola Davis did to pay tribute to Meryl Streep a couple of years ago. It's so beautiful to witness to piers at the TOP of their game just loving each other
Actually Meryl spoke at Viola’s Walk of Fame star unveiling just days before the Golden Globes that year so really Viola was responding to that so they’re just taking turns lol
I Agree with Meryl, THAT Scene in " Doubt " was SOOO Powerful and what an Exchange of Greatness between the two in that Moment... Just Blew me away! This is a VERY Well Deserved Award! WHAT a Speech .. HELLLOOO!!
Yup.
During that scene in “Doubt” between the two of them, I didn’t know Viola, but now it’s the scene that instantly springs to mind when I think of that movie. Viola Davis held her own against THEE Meryl and I knew she was a superstar. EGOT Queen!!!
Now #THIS Is How You #Honor The One And ONLY #ViolaDavis ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
*This is how truly great artists and human beings are: They recognize the greatness and profound humanity in others, too. And they are generous in their affirmation and celebration of these qualities. They are great in their generosity. Time and again, on screen and in real life, Meryl Streep has demonstrated that she is, undeniably, one of our greatest-of all time.*
That was Hilarious tribute! Meryl Streep never failed to have wonderful one amazing speech to her very good friend, Viola Davis!❤ Really admire MS, she's one of a kind! Congratulations VD!❤
Great speech, by one amazing actor to another. Meryl's right about the audio book of Viola's autobiography too - I'm listening to it at the moment and it's powerful stuff!
That was some tribute- from one stalwart to another. What an eloquent and fun speech. Wow. Huuuuuge Meryl fan here. Well, who is not!!!!!
Give honor where honor is due. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Wowed by you Meryl. The love, truth, knowing 🤍✨ Viola is larger than life, and so lucky to have been honored in this way by a true friend that saw her immediately. Can’t wait to get her book!
This was so great.
The timing of the phone alarm 🤌🏼😅
💙 Ms. Viola Davis ! Congratulations !
Davis's performance so believable and genuine in Doubt. She sealed the sale of the movie in the trailer.

Well, don't forget Philip, rip.
after Katherine Hepburn....
Viola is a really good actress. But "one of the greatest"? Doubt that.
She's the best. You're tripping
She’s one of the dearest working actors in both the stage and screen today, that’s just a fact!
So you know more than Streep?
She is
Viola Davis is a great actress! Definitely one of the best! She went toe to toe with Merryl Streep and Denzel Washington, to name a few.
How well I remember seeing Doubt in the theatre, and at the end of her scene, people were literally looking at each other with astonishment and asking who it was.
❤
"....or a phone..." it was giving Miranda Priestly 😂
