+UNSEEN MONSTER I know this response is VERY late, but whatever. From what I've read, the 4.2 is actually extremely reliable. It has "common" problems that pretty much all other petrol engines have, and if you find an independent mechanic, it won't actually be that much more expensive to maintain than a regular car. The single most expensive repair you might have to do on this car is the transmission, which will cost anywhere up to ~3500-4000 dollars to repair/replace, but that's pretty much it. Everything else is reliable. I mean, think about it, the one in this video has 250,000 kilometers. For a Super Sedan that's pretty damn impressive, but it doesn't even scratch the surface of how long this engine can go. It's basically bulletproof as long as you treat it right. Change the oil and timing belt when you are supposed to, and it will run problem free.
TonyDaveYayo Yeah, I saw one with over 450,000KM at my uncle's shop. When you look at it, you could never tell it has that many on it. The engine was still making most of the power it had from the factory as well (down less than 5%). It had the auto transmission though, and he said he was going to get it rebuilt for the third time soon. It's not actually that expensive to do over here, so it's not really a problem. I would love to find one with a manual transmission when I have the money. I freaking love these things. The build quality is amazing in these cars, and for a 4.2, it sure is making a LOT of power (just under 90HP per liter. Most American V8's at the time were barely scratching half of that.)
@@Lambullghini why not? Whats wrong with you? Bought a 20 year old car with a mileage of 15.000km and it runs like new because it is almost new. If you mean that this audi has a very slow old transmission, i agree with you. Otherwise its not cheese or milk
