Hey, I just cleand up every single duplicate file on my computer following your instructions. Worked like magic. No issues. Guys, just watch out when down loading the software. Make sure to follow Andy's down load instructions carefully in the beginning because I had a whole bunch of ther other companies offering download link of this software. Don't go for that. Another tip, if you have very large folders, mine were over 900 gb, then the searchmyfiles search at times seems like it is completed but keep an eye on the percentage calculator on the bottom left of your screen. Sometimes it stops but then picks up. Amazing software. I cleaned up roughly about 45 gb of duplicate files within an hour, going through all my folders. And I had no issues with the interface. It was easy and got the job done!!! Great video!! Thank you!!!

He didn’t install it. It was straight download and use. He didn’t have to accept any agreement or give authorization for the software to be installed, because it wasn’t installed.
Try installing any software and compare it with what's shown in this video and ask yourself "in which drive did this guy 'installed' the software?" Because that's right, he didn't. Most people avoid installing softwares if they can get a portable executable file to get their work done, like the one shown in the video.
If you can’t understand the difference between installed software and an executable file, then you need to keep watching tech videos and listen more react less
Thanks for the easy explanation and demonstration. I have gotten to the point of breaking down the duplicates into their groups, but have been cautious to delete. So, I wanted to be safe because I'm working with an external hard drive with 32,000 files, and more than just duplicates. Most are mp3s with some having up to 8 copies. OMG, OMG, OMG, this is sooooooo helpful. I am cleaning up my HP desktop I purchased in 2014 and have never done any type of backup. I not very computer savvy, but trying to start my new year off better! So I have work documents mixed in with my personal stuff and I nervous about a "computer crash", so I have a Maxtor external harddrive I purchased in 2009 that has 750 mg and I am hoping this should hold all my personal files. I have work laptop and I am taking all the work stuff off of my desktop and can start fresh. I am not sure if I can upgrade my desktop for Windows 11, but even if I can't I love this HP Envy Desktop computer, the screen is 19" and is very clear and easy for me to work with, so I am going to keep it, but I want to keep it maintained, which I haven't done a good job of it, but it's 2022 and a NEW DAY! I am reinventing the working model of my self! Lol! I forgot to say THANK YOU!

Thanks Andy Park. I foolishly used an old backup method (remember Sync Toy?) to back up almost 2 TB of photos years ago. Add that to my standard backup and my backup drive was loaded with a TON of unnecessary files. I've put off deleting them because I was afraid to lose precious photos.....It took a little while but I finally got it done thanks to your video!

It looks very complicated but I just did a basic search in my pictures file where I had hundreds of gigabytes of pictures! 😂 I kept telling myself I would go back and remove double files and things but of course I kept adding pictures and never deleting Andy came to the point where I was about to give up until I found your explanation. I had tried supposedly free software which seemed to be working until you wanted to eliminate everything it found after running for hours and then you had to pay to actually eliminate them! 😠😠 I let this software run for hours too and it found many hundreds of gigabytes of doubles. I spent several hours looking at what it found and eliminating the many copies manually. After all of that time I hadn't found a single error so I decided to trust the software and I let it automatically deal with the rest. There is no way to be absolutely sure it didn't eliminate anything I might have wanted to save but it did eliminate hundreds of gigabytes of pictures that were doubles. I wish you lived nearby in Normandy! I often have frustrating problems when it comes to computers. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me with this situation.

So let me get this straight. We download this software filter to only see DUPLICATES ONLY then when we delete we still need to go back and make sure this DUPLICATES ONLY list doesn't have originals on it?? Logical.

I found over 80Gb of files pictures. I made a restore point at the beginning just in case I also backed up all my important images and documents to flash drives. Like said I remember over 80Gb off a 250gb system. Is there a next step a command for command, prompt or system check or defrag.

In My case I have thousands of duplicate files so cannot select them manually. Any way to select all duplicates in one click leaving original set aside?
I tried it on two separate computers, one Windows 10 and one Windows 11. The move to recycle bin actually deletes the files and does not move them to the recycle bin. Anyone else have this issue?

For example i may have many dups on C:(and all subdirs) and many dups on D:(and all subdirs) but I only want to list the dups that are the same on both C: and D:. ie if C:(all subdirs) had 2 identical files but that file doesn't appear anywhere on D:, I don't want to see it. Hi - If the duplicate group column is showing all zero then it's likely that duplicate search hasn't completed. If you look at the bottom left corner of the application screen, it will show if the checking is still in progress - i.e. "checking duplicate... 20%". The duplicate group numbers will be assigned when the check is complete. Remember that this is a standalone utility and doesn't have access to pre indexed data, so it will take some time to run through large number of files. Hope this answers your question. Thanks.

Clicking Duplicate Group won't sort to show all the first copy of the files, it actually doesn't do anything different than sorting by Duplicate Number. It seems like this is just an issue on my end. Any ideas?
I'm a little confused. so if you only choose one base folder does it search the entire computer for duplicates of the files in that base folder? is that how it works?

Hi ...Great question! I do a complete copy and paste to new Folder. May do this with a couple of new folders. Repeat a few times until I have confidence with files mgt. Hope this helps.
How do i select all duplicate groups at once beside group one. I have so many files and i can select it with cntrl+A option. It selects all the groups. Please help me fast

I tried this today and found many dups. However, Dup group were all number zero. Any ideas?
The duplicate group says they are all 0 what does that mean do I delete them?

In My case I have thousands of duplicate files so cannot select them manually. Any way to select all duplicates in one click leaving original set aside?
I’m going to try this for sorting many years of pictures copied over multiple computers. Wonder how it will perform with over 200gb of data. 😬

I tried it on two separate computers, one Windows 10 and one Windows 11. The move to recycle bin actually deletes the files and does not move them to the recycle bin. Anyone else have this issue?

Thank you. Awesome tool! Question: Is there a way to have it only identify duplicates between devices or maybe 2 base folders. For example i may have many dups on C:(and all subdirs) and many dups on D:(and all subdirs) but I only want to list the dups that are the same on both C: and D:. ie if C:(all subdirs) had 2 identical files but that file doesn't appear anywhere on D:, I don't want to see it. Hi - If the duplicate group column is showing all zero then it's likely that duplicate search hasn't completed. If you look at the bottom left corner of the application screen, it will show if the checking is still in progress - i.e. "checking duplicate... 20%". The duplicate group numbers will be assigned when the check is complete. Remember that this is a standalone utility and doesn't have access to pre indexed data, so it will take some time to run through large number of files. Hope this answers your question. Thanks.
My PC has 1TB HDD but when I checked last night it says I only have 31GB left and got me shocked cause i didn't instal many apps in my knowledge, only few games then i found and watched your video, followed your tutorial step by step, found some files got duplicated! Thank you so much Mr. Andy!

Thanks, but do you have any advice when you have pages and pages of duplicates. When I click on number, it isn't as helpful, because it is still a long list. I'm trying to delete duplicates from my external hard drive, which is 500 GB and is telling me it's full, but I can't find why it's full. uggh.
Clicking Duplicate Group won't sort to show all the first copy of the files, it actually doesn't do anything different than sorting by Duplicate Number. It seems like this is just an issue on my end. Any ideas?
does it say 0? you need to wait till it ends analyzing. Or click stop on the left upper corner

I have one question - after going through your video, I discover I have more duplicates in my one drive files (no doubt) than on my computer, and now get a yellow ! in my cloud icon asking me if I'm sure I want to delete the 1094 duplicates - how can I be sure it's ok to let them go? or do you recommend that I go through them one by one to be sure? Hi ...Great question! I do a complete copy and paste to new Folder. May do this with a couple of new folders. Repeat a few times until I have confidence with files mgt. Hope this helps.
How do i select all duplicate groups at once beside group one. I have so many files and i can select it with cntrl+A option. It selects all the groups. Please help me fast
