    A couple decades ago and a half, i used to work a few feet south of I-90, in Livingston MT at a western store that carried Lucchese boots. They were way out of my minimum wage league, so i never tried them on, but locals came in and bought them for special occasions, snowbirds, too

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад +1

      I hear that. Lucchese is a more expensive brand. Mostly because of the name. so there are other boots you can get for the same quality at a cheaper price

    love the video man wish i had a boot store like that near me. Theres 2 boot barns and a work world but i find a lot of twisted x ariat cody james etc. closest i can get to a traditional boot leather in and out no cushion is a boot with soft leather non removable insoles

    Wow, that's an awesome looking elephant hide! Love the color patina. Oh yeah JC, that pair of reverse cut Ostrich legs are very nice. I've got to call & see if they might have a pair of those Old Gringo lizards. I've had them in my mind since the video review you made awhile back. 👍

    Prolly get this question a lot but what exotic boot skin would u recommend to someone just getting into the boot life? Thank you

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад +1

      I'd recommend whatever you feel the best in. My first exotic boot I waited until I had a spiritual experience. They ended up being Boulet Caiman boots. Many others love Full quill ostrich, others snakeskin, others lizard, others pirarucu. An exotic will most likely be a dress boot or casual boot so it's really completely up to you. I will say that stingray is probably NOT the best option for a first exotic because it is so stiff and if you get even slightly the wrong size you'll probably be disappointed in them.

    " Hi Jeremiah, with wear and even dust, these boots will look great in this model and this shape! I have two pairs of elephant leather but yes it is very resistant (I tested on long walks , bitumen and paths and wood) but should be compared with ostrich leather known for its resistance! Beautiful cowboy boots Jeremy ! "

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад

      Elephants are endangered. There are places in Africa where they work hard on rebuilding the species and occasionally they cull the herd so the health of all the elephants are as good as possible and so they can grow faster. This is the only way the leather is obtained for products worldwide

    My question on these is, since the lemonwood pegs come through the insole, do they ever back out to where they might stab into your foot? Or from moisture do they swell and stay in place?

    • @wbwills2
      @wbwills2 2 года назад

      The pegs stay put .mushroom out/flatten.they are good to go. Been doing it for a good while now. First I’ve heard of 7toe .

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад

      Lemonwood pegs swell and contract in a similar way leather does so they stay in place well. I've never felt them in the insole

    You think hippo or alligator leather give elephant leather a run for its money?

    • @JeremiahCraig
      @JeremiahCraig  2 года назад

      100%! Hippo is often split and sueded because it's so scarred up which will weaken the leather by default. Alligator is up there in great quality leather but for long term durability elephant is better imo

  • @gaylecheung3087
    @gaylecheung3087 2 года назад

    On my boost have those ins insoles the real way to do them no it just should have foam inserts that you could remove do they adjust for the sizing then… I will not buy exotic hides if they can do that with Kauai with that type of pattern that’ll be nice and for the shaft shoes and I love those tadpoles, I mean tab pulls, lol 😂

    That’s a really nice pair of boots. Very pricey however, I am conflicted about the use of elephant to make boots. I am hoping that the elephant hide used, was because the elephant died from natural causes.

    • @aaronfrancis3185
      @aaronfrancis3185 2 года назад +3

      Natural causes, culled for health reasons, or rogue elephant. There's a lot of paperwork involved in elephant. If you get elephant from a reputable bootmaker it's all above board, at least in the US.

    • @PUNISHERMHS_2021
      @PUNISHERMHS_2021 2 года назад

      They cause of death is natural

    • @goodrich06
      @goodrich06 10 месяцев назад

      I highly doubt all elephant boot hides are from elephants that died from "natural" causes. I am sure that is what is said but reality is most likely a different story. I will pass on elephant boots and stick to a farmed leather.

    • @goodrich06

  • @carilynjurgeson6178

    I love elephants. I would be afraid that someone is killing the elephants for their skins, rather than using the skin of an elephant that died naturally. I would pass on elephant boots for that reason. They are beautiful though.
