No. Maroons are peace loving people with festivals and tours which visitors flock to. They are simple, hardworking people who have upheld their traditions and history. There is virtually no crime in their communities. The No-Go volatile communities you refer to are largely in downtown Kingston and Montego Bay. They occupy a small geographic space and are not widespread. And by the way, even in those communities foreigners are very rarely attacked.

It wasn't chocolate milk was use for medicinal purposes, it was the chocolate itself without milk that enslaved Africans in the 1800 Jamaica was using the chocolate itself to give their children for nutrition purposes. A Jamaican nurse discovered and helped treats Kwashiorkor a form of severe protein malnutrition characterized by edema and an enlarged liver with fatty infiltrates. It is thought to be caused by sufficient calorie intake, but with insufficient protein consumption, which distinguishes it from marasmus, in West Africa.

Yes, we did use overproof rum to clean cuts and wounds. I kept a stronger rum from Puerto Rico just for medical uses, you couldn't drink the stuff.

Your comment about Rastas. NO!!! Locs are formed when they do not comb the hair and deliberately create knots in it. Cleaning and grooming the locs is important in the rasta faith. Their hair is quite clean. Please dont say that.

Dreadlocks are not formed from not washing your hair, but rather from not combing your hair.

One point missing: Only 10 to 14% of Jamaicans smoke marijuana. Many other countries, including the US and Nigeria have a higher percentage of smokers. This is not known because popular images of some corner youth and of rastas (who use it as a sacrament) and Bob Marley convey the impression that most Jamaicans smoke. But while rastas are great proponents of reggae music we must remember they only make up 2% of the population. So when we see images of them smoking ganja its not a true reflection of the majority

The *Jamaican Rugby League Team* was basically formed in *Bradford, West Yorkshire, England,* and is always largely made up of players from *Bradford Bulls RLFC* and *Yorkshire* based teams in general, a lot of which were born in *Bradford* and *Yorkshire,* like *Ross Peltier* (whose brother was in my classes at school).
However the information about the city of *Bradford* starting the *Jamaican Rugby League Team* seems to be missing or hidden from the internet.
The main football team in the city *Bradford City AFC* have also had a lot of *Jamaica International Football Team* players playing for them over the years, such as *Jamie Lawrence, Omar Daley, Jermaine Johnson, Damion Stewart, Donovan Ricketts, Darren Moore, Liam Moore, Greg Leigh* and Bradford born *Clayton Donaldson.*
Some other non-international *Jamaicans* who have also played for the club include *Darren Stephenson* and *Mark Marshall.*
*Jamie Lawrence* is a London-born Bradford City fan, who even wore *Bradford City* colours in a charity boxing match he had 10 years ago, plus *Darren Moore* attends the occasional game when he's not busy with the clubs he's managing/coaching.

You can visit Jamaica and explore nothing will happen to you once you follow the common sense rules all travellers follow when in a foreign country.
Mainly thing you can do to not be disrespectful speak in your regular voice if a local wants to teach you Patois you can use it but don't try just speaking Patois as you land you going end up using stereo typical mockery American accent of the Jamaican accent which is seen as very offensive .
Other than that just soak up the sun and the culture by just being a fly on the wall
