  • Here is another quick 3 minute update, this time looking at the Radar Eye on my Astromech Dome. This is based on the R2D2 Radar eye but designed to fit the R6 Dome.

I have a huge respect for all the hard work and effort you put into your astromech droid!

I really like that dome shape. Your videos are really thorough, keep it up.
I accidentally printed an R5 radar eye for my R4-G9. I guess I might have to make another dome that I can swap over...or maybe a third r-series Droid?

Oh... Definitely a third Series... why stop now ;) I'm already planing my next R-Sreies. Pretty much convinced that I'll need an R2 in my stable. I have cut back my plans for the toys on this one after watching a Friend work the crowd at a con with his R2... that was a lot of little hands all over it. Unsure now if I'll even have moving utility arms on this one now... I'm lucky enough to be able to build new bodies as needed, so I may build one with Toys and have one without... idunno...

I don’t have moving utility arms on mine. Just dome and drivability. I was at a May the 4th event here in Melbourne Australia and a fellow builder was losing his mind at all the kids and adults trying to grab his Chopper’s arm and periscope. He soon learnt not to make them move when they were in arm’s reach.

@@metalnerd2554 OK, that's one more point on the side of keeping it simple. I have put some time into a utility arm mech, I'll keep refining it but may go static with this build.
