Ty for visiting my city! All the "statues" of beers, deer, fish, tugboats are done for charity. People "buy" the statue, then they can paint them pretty much as they like! They change from time to time, before it was tugboats, the prior to that train engines. Anywho, it really livens up downtown :) The big buffalo statue is Marco, the mascot of Marshall University located in downtown. Anyway, sooo glad you got out and walked around a bit, Huntington, while it does have its share of issues, is a very pretty town and we are very proud of our riverfront and also on the south side, Ritter park. Again, ty for your visit and posting this vid :)
My Dad was born in Huntington and grew up there in the 50's and 60's, then joined the service by around 66. I visited there a few times as a kid and was last there when my Grandmother's funeral was held in 88. I keep hoping a video will show the house my father grew up in. Never realized there was that much too the place.
I must live here
Nice city...I grew up in Huntington 40 years ago! Visit every year!
A really nice riverside park. Thanks for sharing!
