I just got a pi5 and a n95. P5 for pihole & unbound. N95 for plex server. Both the same price. Currently waiting on filament for the mini pc mini server case I designed for my slowly growing mini server collection. Fits 1 n95 mini pc and 4 Pis or 2.5" drives instead of a pi.
If you're interested you should look at the Minisforum ITX compute modules that have integrated graphics BUT ALSO a pci express for GPUs. They have an intel and ryzen version PERSONALLY? Hmm... Pis are good for certain things. Ultra portable systems that are not reliant on android based software. But... It's different X86 just works better. I would like to see your take on Gaming console style Linux platforms like Chimera which emulates the Steam Deck Experience and Batocera, which is a purely emulation focused console style experience for pcs
Just bought a HORACO 4x2.5G + 2xSFP+ MANAGED(!) switch for €53,- a few weeks ago, after I was quite happy with a SODOLA branded unmanaged one with the same port config. Those prices are going down for those Realtek chip based switches!
They prob pulled the listing after it spiked so they can put the price up, I've seen it happen for other channels for imitation retro consoles where the link stopped working then came back at a much higher price.
I bought a silicone wrist puck thingy. You put your wrist on it and then use your mouse, your wrist slides without friction on the mousemat. I think it's called silicone wrist rest
when it comes to the mouse... I believe they are made in same place off hours"wink", so they are like grey market mouse but still real. Also nice review of this mini pc.
I guess I would have to message Razer to find out... They are huge, so I'd think they would go after this if that were the case... no idea. I did see packages like this sold in convenience stores in China though. So, maybe they are just mass produced.
I was looking at android stereos at aliexpress for my old ford focus to replace the ancient cd/radio unit, and i was just about to buy one. Handy timing with the coupon, great 🤙
Reading the reviews indicate that they're unlicensed and won't work with Logitech software. Is it possible that the mfr who builds Logitech's mouse makes these on the side and sell it? Most likely.
What happened to cause there to be an unlimited amount of material that there is literally nothing better to do than make a never ending stream of mini pcs?
Does anyone know if a thing like this N95 system would be enough to run a minecraft server? like sub 10 people, I have a world I play with my nephew and 2 of my nieces and some of their friends, currently running on my main computer but kinda want to move it over to a smaller thing that I can leave ON withouth a worry
I never really used the raspberry pi as a mini computer, personally. I used it's GPIO pins to control things and the fact that it's very low power to run things like apple homebridge on it. A mini pc wouldn't be the same. For example I have an adjustable bed and it's remote has rolling codes so i've never been able to control it wirelessly through voice. So since I had a raspberry pi near it already I used it's GPIO pins and wired up the bed's control box directly to adjust it's height. Now I can say "siri legs up" and the legs will raise on the bed to a preset I enjoy. I do think the PI is too expensive to use for little projects now, i'd rather use another microcontroller if I don't already have a PI handy.
I guess I'm mainly thinking for gaming/emulation purposes... but this little PC could even run 3-4 VMs so you could install linux and do stuff with it.
Thanks Tek Syndicate! Bought the Firebat and Razer mouse. Haha, I recently sold an old Dell Optiplex small form factor PC for $150 that had only 8GB of RAM and 180GB hard drive that has a Core i5 6th generation chip for $150. Used the money made to buy it. I was very honest about what the buyer was getting by the way.
So happy to see you guys still making content! I was just a little kid trying to learn about ubuntu and Linux and building a pc absorbing all your videos like almost a decade ago! Saswendellsquatch!
I bought a cart-full of Death Adders V2 from Wally World, $20 a pop. Check your clearance shelves, and ask the department managers (they have freedom to price non-selling inventory).
My guy is straight pimping these mini computers
or whoring for them
It's basically become an aliexpress QVC channel

Pardon my ignorance, how do we know these products are not riddled with backdoors?
As opposed to Intel hardware which is paced full of Israeli spyware?
>how do we know if these products have backdoors?
>from an Intel machine
lol
@@RohanAirsoft i dont know. Hence the "Pardon my ignorance" bit.
You can just reformat and reinstall Windows over USB for clean install or another OS like Linux on it right?
Wipe the drive, install your favorite Linux distribution.

If you search Firebat AK2 Plus, you can still find it. Currently at 130.39, appears to be same spec (16gb 2400mhz, 512gb storage, N5105)
@@Pyrocitor It's fixed now. They forgot to make the links live.

@@cybercho aw dang. that would make sense lol.
Kinda pissed. I bought 160 bucks worth of stuff and didn't know about the codes 😢. Yesterday. Am watching the video just now 😅
Is Wendell still around?
For only that Mini PC had better port placement and at least one Type C port

I missed the sale but kinda wanna buy that minipc firebat for my parents as an office PC. They are using my aincent Phenom 2 X4 gaming PC right now...
rpi was only good when it was cheap

love the show please repaint your Nails
thanks
No. I do whatever I want. Cheers.
Using something like this over a Pi for a low profile emulator is a pretty interesting idea, its not bad for its price.
