How long until they realize the Spanish economy only exists because of tourism?

They are mad at the government not the tourist. This is kind of cowardly, fight your government not the helpless unarmed tourist.

but no issues with the illegal immigrants i'm sure and as stated before once tourist money leaves I'm sure they'll start to wonder why businesses are shuttering

I don't blame the Bacelona residents at all, rents are absolutely crazy in Barcelona and the average salary is 28,000 euros. Too many privately owned short term lets, mostly owned by companies. To make the situation better they need to sell the short term lets, this will increase housing stock and decrease the upward pressure on house/rent prices.

It’s their governments fault not tourists

@@akg9991 yeah it is the governments fault. I was wrong in my assumption however. There are 843,000 residential properties in Barcelona, and 10,000 short term lets (AirBnb), which equates to only 1.2%. However, the city has taken in between 70,000 and 105,000 migrants per year for the past 5 years so this lot are barking up the wrong tree I think.

Take it up with your government for not having systems and regulations in place. The tourists aren't the problem. You guys are the problem. Without tourism you won't survive long. A lot of people's livelihood depend on tourism.

So these people are invited to visit Spain by the tourism board , various politicians and business leaders just to be terrorized by the locals lol- they need to sit down and figure out what they want cause those tourist are not the problem.
