I hesitated to buy New Balance Propel V4, since they launched it. Got them yesterday and went for my intervals this morning and I love them. I could feel a bit of heel slippage in the beginning, but nothing significant and after a while I completely forgot about it and really didn't feel it halfway into my run. It's responsive, bouncy, comfortable, slightly snappy. I really enjoyed my ride. For the price point, it's awesome. I can't wait to try them on my long run next Sunday, I feel they can do the job for that too, since they are so comfortable. Oh, and I got the wide version since I have wide and flat feet, I'm a light runner. It may be different for a heavier runner, I don't know.
I now have 50 miles in this bad boy. Love it. I had bought the Novablast 3 because I loved the NB 2 but man that shoe was so disappointing to me. In my opinion the Propel V4 is so much better than the NB 3. Has more life to it and even a better price. Does remind me a bit of the Speed 2, which I love.
Just yesterday after getting mines in the main I put 6 miles on them and I was very surprised with how much like them especially compared to my rebel fuel cell v3. It's not that much bounce but at the same time it still has some decent bounce to it 😂. Definitely one of my favorite shoes this year
Hi, would you offer any more comparison to the rebel v3, I received one but still in the return window, would you say propel is near in breathability, toe box and comfort? I wouldn’t mind saving some money and getting the push from the plate. On the other hand if the propel is too rigid, not cushioned enough I might try for the rebel in a wider side for more comfort.
@@M1_K3Y they are kinda similar , the propel is a little heavier and not as breathable as the rebel v3. To me the rebel does have more bounce and just seems bit more energetic to run in. The propel isn't to soft not to stiff either so it's right in the middle. The rebel v3is a quicker shoe and more fun to run. The propel is a good shoe if you want to train yourself to keep a good pace and the plate is to help with a bit more bounce but to be honest i don't feel it that much
I have to disagree with the evaluation regarding the feel of the fuelcell in the propel vs the sc trainer. Comparing the cushion and squish between the two the propel’s fuelcell is really firm. Plus they are super heavy compared to the rebel v3. The rebel v3’s can be gotten for $65-$130 as of right now.
How does it feel compared to the New Balance Vongo v5? I know they're in different categories, but if the Propel v4 is similar stability and is just more bouncy, I'm curious
I have both as well. Don’t bother getting the propel v4. They aren’t very fun to run in compared to the rebel v3’s. They feel like cheap $50 shoes that were marked up to $110 because of the “plate.”
Interested in this shoe for sure but with the Rebel v3 and the new SC trainer coming out in a few months I may not get this one - have to make a comment on the SC trainer v1 - by far the best shoe of last year for me in the trainer category - I think the Novablast is a fine shoe but no where near the fun and peppiness of the SC trainer. Ill also throw in my favorite faster shoe from last year and its the Takumi Sen - I got the 8 last year and what a shoe this is for workouts and faster stuff.
I just tried these on over the weekend. The SC Trainers did not work for me because of the heel collar, but I really want a fuel cell shoe. These felt super snappy and cushy enough. In someone else’s review they said the shoe looked like it was made cheaply. That was not my impression at all. New Balance could easily sell this shoe for $150. I would’ve bought it had I liked the color that was available in the store. I have the Speed 2’s and the Pegasus 38’s and a couple super shoes. These will be a great addition to my collection. Love you guys! Love your reviews! P.s. I did not have any heel slippage. I thought it fit perfect to my foot. I did agree with you guys about the new Invincible 3’s. Those were a pass because of the heel slippage. Sad cuz that shoe still feels like marshmallows. LOL.
how does it feel compared to the speed 2s and pegasus 38? I've had a hard time finding speed 2s anymore and am looking for something similar. I've also run in the peg38s, so just curious. I'm hoping the propel v4 is close to the speed 2s since it has the plastic plate.
@@TheHPW13 I feel the Propel are very similar to the Speed 2’s. I feel like for my foot the Speeds are a snug fit. Which is fine. I feel the Propel felt like a better fit to my foot. That being said, I’d like to run in them. I do feel the Pegasus 38’s are not the same build as these two shoes so I feel they don’t really compare.
@@Believeintherun I thought I'd let you know. I was doing a 1/2 marathon two weeks ago and one of the guys in the race with me was wearing a believe in the run hat. Put a smile on my face.
I have the Propel v3. I prefer that over the Rebel because it wasn’t overly soft. I am a slow runner and lands mainly at the heel, so Propel v3 suited me. However, aftr one run on wet roads, the rubber outsole patches all came off. Did they use a water based glue? I was very disappointed. Not gonna buy another NB again. My pair was Made in Vietnam. Maybe the contract manufacturer skimp on glue. I will stick to China or Indonesia made shoes from now on.
The FuelCell in the SC trainer is probably my favorite of the line. Not too soft with nice energy return. I can see this being a solid trainer

nice have u also used the sc trainer v2? wat made u hesitate to get these?
how much kg is considered to be a light runner?

Thanks for this information about the new propelv4. Like for Meaghan and Thomas. A nice day for everyone.
Thanks. Just got them from running warehouse, quite soft and bouncy like S Speed2. Great review and see how long it will last.
Enjoy!
As a low budget runner, thanks for review
Thanks for watching!
The first Propel was a bit of sleeper imho. Did 800kms in them and it was a great daily / long run shoe.
Definitely, we liked the last Propel

I bought it after reviewing it in Korea.
I'm always reading your reviews
The review quality is good.
Glad to hear that!
Shame about the smooth tread. Daily trainers should be following the Pegasus and Puma shoes in having some decent lugs for versatility.
Great job guys!
Fordy! 👋 you like this shoe too!

I just bought the new balance Rebel V3. Does someone know how is the rebel compared to the propel (beside the plate factor)?
I have both rebel feel lighter and squishier

Great review! Which do you suggest between this shoe and the Saucony Axon 2?
This one!
Other than the Propel V4, do you have any recommendations for a daily trainer similar to the Speed 3, but NOT the Speed 3?
Ik a bit late but the Puma Deviate Nitro 2
$83 on Amazon today 6/29/23
I'm thinking between this shoe and the like peg 39 what are your opinions?
Which shoe is better or would you pick hoka rocket x2 or ASICS metaspeed sky +?
Rocket X2 but both shoes are great
Is it the same foam that's on the v3? That was also a denser Fuelcell.
I just ordered them on sale for $87 off Amazon. In the past I wore 880s & then 1080s. Hoping for the best! 👟
Ч о можете сказать про все эти кроссовки? Недавно увидел их на распродаже в фирменном магазине своего города.
Did you say this beat out novablast or got beat out by novablast
hurm..interesting i found my wide foot fits better in rebel v3 compared to new propel.

Where are they being sold for 70$$
I just got a pair on Amazon for $100
They'll be here tomorrow.
This versus rebel v2/v3?
This new propel looks just like the SC trainer V2
A formula that works
That's what I thought!

Is this better than Saucony Tempus?
Define better? What's important to you?
Howas it, i think i want one. Haha
Calling a shoe budget with a price tag of $110 is still wild to me😢
"Budgeat"??? These shoes used to be $60...pure greed these days!
People were complaining when the shoes were $60😂
First like ❤❤❤❤
How is she making this video when she doesn’t know what a running loop is ?
it looks very cheap and should be priced under 70$

Looks don’t matter it’s how you use it
It is now USD60
