By 1980 ABC News had surpassed the competition in quality and style. If you look at the NBC and CBS broadcasts from that era the look is very local. NBC News would finally step up their game in the mid-80s' with a net set and new theme by John Williams. CBS finally caught up around 86 or 87.
22:50 and back by popular demand.... the 2000-12 World News Tonight theme by Edd Kalehoff! Who ever made the switch back to this theme deserves an Emmy for this, because the 2012 theme was blah, and thus the WPVI "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy came into mind, and thus, an iconic news theme would return.

I don't know if that SBT Brasil intro was authorized or if SBT was simply copying ABC WNT's graphics. And that wouldn't be the first time that SBT would have graphics really similar to those in American TV networks. During the 1980s and 1990s, SBT would broadcast localized versions of campaigns from the US. The most famous example of that is NBC's 1983 campaign, adapted by as "Quem Procura Acha Aqui". However, that differs from the SBT Brasil/ABC WNT case, as in an interview, SBT said that the usage of NBC's campaign was authorized (and not simply _Plagiarismo di Plagiarismo_ ), and I recall that they also showed the authorization document.
It's interesting to me that you can hear echos of the long-time (Kalehoff?) news theme in many of these earlier clips. I think the ABC News Now clip, with later Nightline anchor Ted Koppel was from their overnight slot as well, not WNT. And as for credits, yeah, nobody does credits these days except Christmas night or New Year's Eve/Night, when they tend to do a roll that includes everyone who's set foot in the newsroom all year long. Those aren't hard to find on YT either.
In a little over a month, five REDISCOVERED episodes of “John Daly And The News have been posted in their entirety here on RUclips. They are from 1952, 1953, 1955, 1956, and 1957. I also found out on John Daly’s Wikipedia page, that he won 5 Emmy Awards AND 3 Peabody Awards for his news journalism work at ABC News during the 1950s. You will want to add the 5 intros to this special video compilation.

I noticed on a couple of these clips that the video came from Vanderbilt University’s television archives.
