Just a word of caution I did this to a Kutzall fine flame burr and it bent the first time I used it after the treatment. I didn’t think I had applied too much heat to the burr just a light torching to burn the build-up of some soft pine residue prior to brushing with a brass brush. Never the less it did bend after the treatment whereas before it was fine. Now I only brush my burrs with a brass wire brush, more frequently, to avoid any heavy build up. I must add this was a while back before this was posted.
Thank you for this video. It's a great visual and explanation. So far I haven't needed to clean them, but now I know I have what I need to do so, when I get to that point.👍😊

Ive generally used a bic lighter to roast my burrs, but the brass wire brush is a new one for me. Thats a nice bit of info
Yeah, brass is a bit softer than steel. In saying that I use a steel brush occasionally,. Cheers
Makes sense,thanks for the insight
not a problem. Cheers
Good information Looks like it works good I’ll try it Thanks Matt
No problem, thank you for watching 👍
Good job. My husband uses a wire brush to clean mine out. Hes only cleaned it once. 😊
Awesome, good on your husband for helping you out 👍
The burrs are heat related by hardening and tempering, I would recommend using a small wire brush instead.
Torch yes, but brake cleaner, that's what I use with a mini brass brush, it's instant!
Great tip!
@@MattCarves I have to thank my man!
Well Right Then. That's what I've heard is to heat them up with a torch 🔦 no no not that torch...a flame breathing torch 😊
Lol, Rich.
I usually soak them in hot water but doesn't always clean them on the first go cherrs
Hi Aiden. Sounds good.👍
Soak in thinners over night then wire brush.
