The Legend of Kazakh Eagle Hunters

Kazakhs are semi-nomadic people and have live around Altai Mountains in Western Mongolia with their herds since 19th century. There are about 87,000 Kazakhs in Mongolia (4% of Mongolia population) and an estimated of 250 Kazakhs still practicing as eagle hunters today. The tradition of eagle hunting is over a thousand year old! In 2011, UNESCO added Kazakh eagle hunting to the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, as an example of living human heritage. As one eagle hunter told National Geographic, "When Kazakhs came into the world, they were eagle hunters."

Although a foreigner of European origin, I feel a closeness to the rural people of Kazakhstan. I was born in South Africa and am married to a Mongolian lady of Khentii Province. Our daughter Viv, now 18 was born in Ulaanbaatar.
In Africa, I am occasionally on foot, close to wild animals, such as Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Rhino and many more. I wish you and your families warmth, safety, good health & prosperity. 😑

Is there other way to go on a hunting expedition other than the eagle festival? I saw some plans and theres a 1 week pack, but only 2 days of actual contact with the falconers. As a falconer myself I would like to have more days and with real hunting not staged exhibitions or something close, but not the real thing. Can you please provide me with some info? (I have hunt with eagles myself but in America, México to be accurate and off course is very different from the Kazakh's style.
