- It's a new week, so some new races for Gran Turismo 7 this week!! We're visiting;
- Race A: Alsace Test Course || Suzuki Jimny 420pp
- Race B: Nurburgring GP || Gr.3
- Race C: Interlagos || Gr.1
ABS Setting: Weak
Brake Balance: On each of the Lap Guides at the Start

Racing Ratings;
- Start Type: Is it good/bad. Grid Starts are good in my opinion (Unless lead to huge crashes). Rolling starts can be good unless they start on or before a corner.
- Car / Tyre Choice: Is it a good Car / Tyre choice? Does it work well. Racing Hard Tyres aren't the greatest in my view but sometimes they can work.
- Good Racing / Strategy: Can you have some good battling, can you race side by side. Is there a good Strategy, e.g. pitting on different laps possible etc.
- No Penalty Issues: Track Limit issues where they don't make sense, Wall Penalties that don't make sense etc.
- Race Length / Randomness: Is it a good length of time to race. E.g. Laguna is 5 laps, but the 1st is a catch up lap... Weather etc. for the randomness
Each score adds 1, so A + B is out of 5. Daily Race C is doubled due to double the length so out of 10.
Week is OVER 15: Then its a GOOD Week
Week is OVER 10: Then it's an Average Week
Otherwise: Not a good Week

I really wish they would sort gr.1 out. The 919 dominance vs the other hybrids makes the BoP absolutely meaningless
Yeah, they need to split Gr1 into several subcategories because trying to balance all of these cars together is impossible. They need to split Gr1 into a Group C category, a VGT category, a Hybrid Lmp1 category, a Non Hybrid Lmp1 category, and then a hypercar category with them adding the other Lmh and Lmdh prototypes. That way, the Bop will be easier to balance out making more cars viable.
The need to do with Gr2 as well
honestly if they just choose the right tracks then it could be temporarily fixed.
PD isn’t focused on Gr.1 it’s why the class hasn’t been BoP’d since March 30th, 2023. yes. 2023 it’s been a year and a half since they looked at this class. it’s the stepchild

Ironically the Bahamas incident was caused by GT7's lack of competent penalty system. Because we're left to police ourselves, Bahamas slows up in the middle of the track to let Metal Ape back in front like a good sport, which causes a massive collision just behind. If we could count on Bahamas getting a suitably large penalty to ensure Metal Ape gets his position back at the penalty line, nobody would ever need to slow manually down to show good sportsmanship.
I disagree. Even if Bahamas had that said penalty, he would serve it at the penalty line. At the time of the incident, he would still slow down to let the victim back on track or at least pass him. My point is, people would still slow down to show good sportsmanship.
Same thing happened to me last race B, car punted off, culprit slows and wham I go from 4th to path on last turn😢

Thnx Tidgney, another great video. Tried your great Jimny setup however PP comes in at 424.56 (with wide body). applying WB took about 0.5 PP away, so much exploring to do here. i posted my setup to show it should be like yours but isn't
Half the grid in that race A had no idea that a engine swap was possible, most of us were 200 bhp down on the leaders 😬

@@MrTehNoms It would be cool if it was open to any car but I think this race shows how bad the PP system is so whatever they did it would be one competitive car/build after a couple of hours.
@@GOTMAXPOWER Of course. I would say, though, it's still a win-no change situation:
Road cars used in pp races. There's a meta setup so use it if you don't care. I, and the few others like me, can have fun driving "my" car.
Perhaps, set W/P restrictions, lateral grip restrictions, etc.
The only REAL reason stopping this from being a feasible middle-ground is that PD still haven't implemented proper setup saving/loading in daily races.
If they were to set a combo so egregious it's a one-make race, you load the meta setup one time and use it all week.
@@MrTehNoms I definitely agree with that on winning not being everything and just wanting to drive your favourite cars but there are limits, if your car is so far off the pace that you won't see anybody else all race you may as well be in time trial. When I say the PP formula isn't fit for purpose in this Jimny race the cars with the engine swap are the same PP as those without but have 200 bhp extra and are at least 5 seconds a lap faster.
I do like your idea of power and weight restrictions, it leaves flexibility to build cars how you want them without as much variation, maybe blocking certain parts too like engine swaps or ultimate upgrades.
I would kind of like to see a similar PP limited race but with tuning turned off to see if one car dominated or a few were viable with different strengths and weaknesses.

Compared to last weeks shit show, this is a dream. Also Tidge, you're getting later and later, I know you want to put the best out but, by the time your vids are coming out now, people have figured the strats and such out, I'll watch regardless but for helping with lap guides, it's a little late for some people.
Ye it's my bad this week. I wasted an hour on something this morning that I didn't need to and then I didn't hit the "Got It" on youtube after I said schedule which I only noticed 30 minutes later. Normal time in BST for these is between 2-3pm and then GMT it's 1-2pm.

Agree, pretty much pants this week. Had a go at tuning the Jimney. I like full tune races but this is a poor choice of car

The biggest probem with race C is not even the penalty system, it's the other drivers tht will always bump into you in every corner. I feel like the amount of dirty drivers increased a lot recently
Revenge punters are ridiculous in this game, multiple times this week I accidentally tapped the car in front usually because they're breaking too.much, I wait let them get back past and then they run me off the track 🙄
How could they get Race B so wrong - 7 laps with no tuning and it would have been an absolute banger!

tuning to PP is pretty much fixed....tuning race get more competive as the week goes on.

Good question! So I record the race live (Not livestreamed) so records my reactions and the race for the video. It's why sometimes I look tired as it's quite early, especially in winter. 😂😂

The fact that the engine swap for the Jimmy leads to an EIGHT SECOND difference in lap time at the same PP means something is very wrong.

24:32 the Porsche did nothing wrong at all, the Genesis was losing control and he accidentally hit him.
I wish the Mclaren Vgt could match the meta, that thing looks so good.
Interesting for slower rated drivers it sometimes can if your in group B or C
think everyone was surprised they picked Gr.1, as they thought the world series previewed it for a Gr.3 longer race C. this is actually a good week.
however, i wonder if they chose Gr.1 at a hybrid dominant track like this to see the gap between the cars in the class-as the VGTs are next to useless as they were killed. i’d hope the BoP is for all classes except Gr.2 & Gr.B
If they aren't gonna bop the different racing disciplines, they should split them up in the game I think

Ye the BoP is atrocious for Gr.1 but I don't think it'll ever be fixed, the cars are to varied. Would be nice to have 2 cars to choose though out of these, like the 919 and the Toyota for example.
@@tidgney it would all be fixed if they reverted the hybrid systems the way it worked in GTS (at the end of its lifecycle, not the launch). The regeneration is too little and the usage is way too high, it’s like a supercapacitor instead of a battery

You know you dont get track limit penalties if you stay inside the track

That’s me. Thought getting parts is enough, turns out I was still slow AF even with 416 PP. Tried race A once and never again for this week 🤣
PD goofed up so bad on daily A. PP races are usually interesting with different setups but it’s basically an engine swap race.
Race me how you want to be raced...use your car to move me and you'll get the same in return

We're judging a whole company based on this one game? Bit questionable method considering they publish multiple others and many of them are doing just fine. Just say you don't like what PD is doing instead of saying things like this.
Newsflash....they've already succeeded as a company. So dramatic to say this because one mode in a game isn't setup exactly how tou think it should be
Yuk tuning in daily B, wish they’d leave it at brake balance only
The tuning opens up 6 or 7 more cars than just the meta, so for me I like it , cuz when you’re racing in VR many times the steering wheel blocks some of the vital info.
This week is not attractive to me LOL
