The Foxes and Fossils have many renditions of great songs and sometimes their versions are even better than the original. They are that good. Tim is a mastermind and the band is tremendous

I had to come back again tonight and listen to this incredible performance by this group. It's just as good as last night of course but I think I love it even more. I think this is an important piece of musical history because of all the ups and downs that the Mama's and the Papa's had during their time. The tragic loss of Cass Eliot and all the other challenges that the band had and yet their music has stood the test of time so well. Those of us that were able to hear them on the radio and buy their albums can remember how they affected us during that young time of our lives. This group does them real justice and I am so glad that you did this review. Thanks for that.
This really shows the beauty of the original song. Bring back some memories for sure. Their voices indeed together and this makes for a real treat to hear. I could hear some Cass Eliot from the girl that sang her parts.
"The Girl" is Chase Truman. Mama Cass reincarnated. Listen to "I Call Your Name". This gal is a fantastic singer.
For me the only thing better than listening to a Foxes and Fossils Video is seeing and hearing them in concert...unfortunately December of 2022 was the first time in almost 5 years that they performed live and it was also the last time. As a huge fan, I'm hoping for sure that it's not another 4 or 5 years before they do a live gig again. I drove a few hundred miles to see them live but others flew from all parts of the country and even from outside America to come see them at one of the two concerts they did. They truly are an amazing group and they just seem to keep getting better and better. They have five great lead singers, all three Foxes and then Darwin and Tim, and then they all do great harmony vocals as well. Thanks for your reaction to one of the best cover bands out there...heck, one of the best bands period, IMHO. I hope you keep enjoying the amazing and wonderful talent that is Foxes and Fossils.

This and Harvest Moon are from the first weekend they ever had everyone from all prior years involved and the first time recording in Tim's studio. Over 2 years since they had stopped playing. Tim put a little behind - the - scenes in because the fans had never seen them working in studio before.

I literally listen to this group every day. It never gets old. To me, every song is at least as good as the original. That doesn’t mean they do it exactly the same way, but they bring what they do best to each one. My only wish is they could make enough from doing this to do it full time instead of as a hobby.
None of them want to do it full time. Maggie and Sammie have busy careers. (Maybe Chase,almost never new music from her) Darwin performs elsewhere locally and is involved with the Hapeville theater. John plays part time in so many other bands I think he's lost count, (4 or 5 he said) Toby is almost 75 ,dealing with parkinsons for 10 years, Tim is 68 and says he doesn't get to play golf enough anymore, Rick tours with A1A, Ross has his band in VA... I hope they can do it part time a few more years.

That is a great song. I also liked Cherish, Windy, and Along comes Mary. But you may be correct that Never My Love would be the best for them to cover.

They do a great version of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”. Sammie does the lead and knocks it out of ballpark. If you can, please react to it, if you haven’t already.
i started playing instruments at 11 yrs old. I am now 72 and still playing every night. Obviously, given my age I grew up with that song in the mid 60's with the mamas and papas. I must say when it comes to the 60's i have a crush on this band. Totally perfect.

I call them a "tribute to great music band".
Father and 1 of his 2 daughters, Sammie (the blonde), his daughters friend, Maggie Adams (the brunette). The others are part of the father's original band. However you're right, family harmony cannot be beat.
Tim has 3 daughters. Rachel is the oldest, Sammie is the youngest, and confusingly the middle daughter is named Maggie - not to be confused with Maggie Adams of course.
Also note Darwin was not in the Mustangs, but was in a couple bands with Tim In their teens and 20s.

That's not a live vocal recording. They've recorded the vocals separately & tuned them & then reenacted recording it together.

Correct on the recording technique.Editing overload to show each vocalist recording separately.( they tried that)
Sammie has perfect pitch, ("Original Cast" musical theater troupe at Vanderbilt) the other 2 majored in commercial voice at Belmont University. Nothing to tune. The guys certainly aren't pitch corrected. I have a cd with Tim singing lead live with the Mustangs 24 years earlier,and wow, and still pretty good voice at age 68.
I don't believe any of the in-studio videos are recorded live. I don't recall anyone saying they were. You can clearly distinguish the live videos as they are singing in front of an audience or in a parking lot. Tim videos the musicians and vocalists so that we have something to watch instead of looking a the lyrics or pretty pictuers of scenery or something.
They need to do a better job at their "sound Check" ! The "Bass" is overwhelming this whole number !
They are all related, hence the tone and tambor you're talking about. Genetics, just like The Warning.
@ericruck13 Sammie (the blonde on the far right) is Tim's (in the center) daughter. No one else is related to each other. Sammie knew Maggie from singing together in the church choir. Chase was introduced to the group through her high school choir director who sang with the Mustangs, which was Tim's other group from long before Foxes and Fossils. In fact, Foxes and Fossils is more or less an extension of The Mustangs with the girls added.
That blend is because most of them are family. Great pick.
@BoronBobcat Why does everyone keep saying that? Only Tim (the man in the middle) and Sammie (the blonde on the far right) are related. Sammie is Tim's daughter.
