Most of the people are either too young or too old too realize who she is/was. The bottom line is, if it doesn't affect THEIR lives then it really doesn't matter at all.
To be fair to the crowd, it looks like this was half-assed. Blame the stadium staff, instead, for not planning a proper tribute. This should have been done right before the start of the match with the pitch cleared & most people seated, with an announcement about Sinead's passing, a moment of silence, then playing of the video (or something like that). Btw, I'm old enough to remember the photo-ripping incident & I have to admit I didn't get it at all & perhaps had a slightly negative opinion about it (non-Catholic Canadian here). I didn't really listen to her music, either, but you had to be living under a rock not to be aware of her. In reflection, I realize now just how brave of an act that was & how far ahead of her time she was in bringing to light what the vast majority of the public had no inkling of. She was crucified for that, but she leaves this earth with her head held high knowing she absolutely did the right thing, along with all the other principled causes she advocated for. A real saint in my eyes. Rest in peace, beautiful one.

He did not threatened her at any point. in fact he told her to get by this and move in his place...she overeacted telling to fuck off as stubborn and left. Prince adored of the song...He gave so many songs to other artists. Martika...Chaka Khan.. just examples The are both happy i guess with this song. RIP both

To be fair to the crowd, it looks like this was half-assed. Blame the stadium staff, instead, for not planning a proper tribute.
This should have been done right before the start of the match with the pitch cleared & most people seated, with an announcement about Sinead's passing, a moment of silence, then playing of the video (or something like that).
Btw, I'm old enough to remember the photo-ripping incident & I have to admit I didn't get it at all & perhaps had a slightly negative opinion about it (non-Catholic Canadian here). I didn't really listen to her music, either, but you had to be living under a rock not to be aware of her.
In reflection, I realize now just how brave of an act that was & how far ahead of her time she was in bringing to light what the vast majority of the public had no inkling of.
She was crucified for that, but she leaves this earth with her head held high knowing she absolutely did the right thing, along with all the other principled causes she advocated for.
A real saint in my eyes. Rest in peace, beautiful one.
