I'm sure you've heard this many times but, 'your mama would be proud', how your holding up her channel. I will always miss her sweet smile and manurisms. Thank you, from the dedicated viewers that love your family. Blessings.
I was just watching one of phyllis's pork chop recipes the one where she cooked in that new wave oven she got, I just want to say that I miss her so much even though I didn't know her it's like every time I see her face on RUclips and hear her voice it's like one of my family members is gone she was so gentle and sweet and I just miss her so much but she lives on through RUclips that's for certain. and I just want to say that you're a lot like her Steven you are a sweet and gentle man very humble and I love your Sunday readings and stories from the Bible and love your cooking videos also you tickle me, your mom would be proud of you. God bless you and your family.
It’s amazing that you have continued with your moms love of sharing her wonderful recipes! I miss her and picture her smiling down at you. She sure was a sweet lady! Your dish looks amazing - I do make this on the stove top but this is a great alternative. Definitely going to try this. Thank you for your time
That recipe seems as if it might be a spaghetti version of Cincinnati Chili. My Southern Virginia relatives make Cincinnati style chili instead of the Texas style chili. The first time they served it to me I was not expecting such a different taste because I was used to Texas chili. I had it often enough that now I like it. Lol Thank you for cooking for us. You remind me so much of your mother who was such a special person for sharing her recipes and life, family stories with us. I think about your mom fairly often. I'll see or hear something thar reminds me of something she said, told a story about or a recipe she made. She was sort of like a RUclips Aunt to me. Her personality really came through on video in a special way. She was so sweet but Fiesta and strong too. She was easy to love and relate to. Anyway, as my Southern relatives would say, you do your momma proud. I love cooking with the Colonel, thank you.
Looks delicious. I love crockpot recipes too. I loved Ms. Phyllis and Mr. Buck and the poodles ...I miss them so much. I rewatch her videos all the time. I loved their "conversations" about what to eat for supper.
I had Greek spaghetti in Athens several years ago...it was delicious! Yes, I could taste the hint of cinnamon.... It works! Love Greek food. Thanks for sharing this recipe!
You did just fine, and you are very welcome! Great adaptation for the crock pot, too! I would definitely do this on days that I'm gardening or canning and can't use the stove top for dinner. I've also "crock pot adapted" a few other recipes for those days and days I don't want to heat up the house with the oven. I'm so glad you are enjoying one of our favorite meals!
When I was about 17 I made my first chili following a recipe. I spotted my cumin in the spice cabinet and reached out for it mindlessly. It wasn't cumin, it was cinnamon! I realized it too late and thought it would be a disaster but it was delicious! I shared with my neighbor who loved my chili and always asks me when will I be making my yummy chili again, Lol 😆
Looks great Steve! Spaghetti always reminds me of the time my mountain biking brother went riding in Big Bend SW Tx. He was tent camping and temps dropped hard at night. I had made him spaghetti and froze it so he could enjoy a hot meal before bed. I had seen a professional Chef add a little baking soda to the sauce which I followed and evidently added too much. At his first bite he yelled out loud while shivering and threw it all out settling for chips and cold jerky. To this day have never heard the end of it and he still won’t eat much of anything I make much less spaghetti. 😇😂😇 I’m still going to try this recipe! Thanks!
Your "Eddie" is spot on Steve! 🤣 How clever to add the boiling water! I wonder if you could use beef stock or broth instead of water? How much would it change the flavor, do you think? The cinnamon is scaring me, but you seemed to like it!
Greek spaghetti I would sprinkle crumbled Feta cheese on top of the finish product instead of the parmesan cheese.....YUMMY recipe. Thanks for sharing Colonel 😊👍
Nope! No feta on Greek pasta! It's not a salad or a feta cheese pie! 🙂 Parmesan as an equivalent to mizithra or graviera (the traditional topping) will do fine!
OMGoodness that looks scrumptious 😋......this is a must try on my list of recipes from RUclips! Thank you Col. Steve for sharing Carol's Slowcooker Greek Spaghetti ❤
Hey Steve! This looks great! I have been seeing about some bad flooding in Dubai. Thought of you and wondered if you were safe. Please pray for our neighbors in Kentucky. I have never saw anything like those folks are going through. The reports and video's get worse each day. Total devastation out there.
Hi Colonel, your Grand experiment looks so tasty. Your modifications to recipes are always spot on, great work, lovely meal. Thanks to Carol for her inspiration. Take care.xo😊❤xo.
Hi Steve, That’s looks yummy and hearty. Cinnamon with the meat sounds like a good additive spice. I’ll be trying this recipe. Thanks to Carol too. Kindness, Teresa
Looks delicious! I’d like to see Carol’s original recipe too as I’m not a fan of the slow cooker and would like to try the stovetop version. Thanks for sharing❣
Looks really good! Think I will try it! Steve I have a quick easy dessert recipe you might want to try for something you have to make at the last minute. I got it off of RUclips. It's called Strawberry Cream Cheese Dump Cake.. it calls for 2 cans of pie filling, whipped or spreadable cream cheese (12 oz), a box of dry vanilla or white cake mix, and 1 stick of butter or margarine. You spray your 9x13 inch Pyrex dish with nonstick spray. Next you dump both cans of strawberry pie filling in your Pyrex and spread evenly. Then you'll dollap the cream cheese over the top of the pie filling. Use all of the cream cheese. Then in a separate bowl you mix your stick of melted butter with your dry cake mix stirring with a fork until it makes a crumble. You want it to look like pebbles. You'll want to mix until there's no dry batter left. With your fingers drop the crumbles all over the top. Bake 350 degrees uncovered for 30-35 minutes. You will have a crunchy yummy crust when it is served. You can use any pie filling. I have made the strawberry and I liked it so much I made a blueberry one too! I think I'll make one at our next family reunion. Thank you for sharing this spaghetti recipe with us. Stay safe friend!🙏
I made this tonight...it was very good. I think I need to cut down on the water per my crockpot and I will addd another can of tomatoes, but I loved it.
It looks good, but if I add olive oil I'm going to try it with lean beef and a little olive oil. I've been experimenting with tvp, may try it with this instead of beef, not sure. Since I quit smoking I have to watch what I eat, just looking at food will make me gain weight:). Thank you Steve, always love the way you experiment with recipes in a crock pot. The few I've tried have been awesome! Also, a big thanks to Carol too! I'll have to try this
Absolutely love slow cooker recipes. This looks interesting. Wondering about browning the beef beforehand verses just throw it in raw. I always Brown the meat. I will have to try this! Thank you Steven and Carol for the recipe!
Hello from Diane S in Maryland. A question Steve, Did adding the 3 cups of water dilute the flavor at all? Thank you for this and Sunday's. GOD bless and watch over you.
Ahh you are like Mother Phyllis. Add a pinch of allspice and its amazing. Mother Phyllis loved my Pastitsio and Moussaka recipes. Looking good Brother. God Bless You and Arlene and all the Babies.
I've always wanted to try that! I never can seem to get up there to do it. There's a Cincinnati Chili Company restaurant down here in Orlando, do you know if its good? Darn it, I'm trying to ask if their chili taste like real Cincinnati chili is supposed to taste! 🤦♀️LOL
@@gidget8717 If it's skyline or Gold Star, it should, but I dont know if it will be the exact same. I know their cans they sell in the store dont taste the same to me.
@@gidget8717 Cincinnati chili company is also a good one. I wasn't sure if that was the name of it down there, because I heard they built a Skyline down there. Any of those places should have it.
Skyline Chili. Nope. I'm a southern Hoosier, & the only pasta type dishes (including chili) I simply have never cared for is Skyline Chili. In my opinion, cinnamon is only delicious in sweet foods. Pastries, cookies, & cake, etc. Many people in the midwest don't care for cinnamon used in chili, pasta, etc. That recipe sure looked good though. 👍 If it would cool down a little bit, I'd definitely be making homemade chili. I hope y'all have a beautiful weekend! ✝️ 🇺🇲 ♥️
Hi Steve This one is veeeery interesting ! Hmmm ? Cinnamon? Yah ! Maybe ? Ok you know I'm gona try it now. You have planted the seed of curiosity. If you can get a can of Peas and Carrots...then add, that would be so good. Carrots add a slight sweetness. I use some diced carrots (not peas) in my meatloaf too. Hubby and myself and the kids (ages 21 and 20) eat it all up.
I see you're living in a much smaller place. I haven't watched you, or anyone for that matter in a long time. I am so sorry for your loss. Your wedding ring is no longer on. I notice stuff. I am sorry. God Bless you and yours. I miss your mom.

CinnamonTY looks yummy.
It looks good, but I am trying to figure out why it's called greek spagehetti, is it the cinnamon?
I was wondering that also.
And maybe less tomato sauce? I would have used, normally, 2-3 huge cans whereas, this recipe only called for 1 of those small cans.
oregano and cinnamon Italians never use oregano in sauce other than pizza or on subs and Italians would never put cinnamon with tomato
I love putting cinnamon in with my chili! It adds so much!

Are you in your crash pad? If so, good for you cooking there and making it a home away from home!
Good rule of thumb, it’s about 1 tsp of salt per pound of meat.
