You will want to search every part of the map. However, it is bad that you are forced to search every part of the maze like map. WTF. That makes it great. It's structured but with freedom at the same time
This is a great game and is a graet addition to my jrpg collection. The online is actually very fun, the story is actually somewhat good. Combat is actually interesting but it does get a little boreing when the enemies are weak. This game is actually difficult especially when you're outnumbered or under leveled.
Despite bad reviews from both IGN and Gamespot I can honestly say this game is fun to play I dont regret buying it at all . The battle system is new and refreshing although it could be worked on a little .. If i was a reviewer this game would receive a score between 7 and 8 .. im not saying its the best rpg but definately not as bad as this review makes it out to be . Rent it and try it before you make your decisions guys :)
After you reach guild rank 7, the quests get much harder with more valuable prizes. There is much more strategy involved with teamwork being the only way to get out of it alive. Georama also gets better around gr 7 when you can upgrade it further and many more people are avaible for recruiting. Also with harder quests means that you need to include buffs and debuffs which add a new depth of strategy to the game.
@PinkyBeany you have to beat the game then once you beat it you can start it over as new game plus. the enemies are harder but you get to keep all of you skills and armour which is why he had that armour in the begining
wow... after going into my local gamestop and seeing WKC everytime. I always think of the reviews of gamespot and IGN and other big names call it bad. but with you tubers comments I think I'm just gonna get it already!.
See, this is what I don't understand. Some people will ONLY buy a game if the review of it is positive. I spent £12 on WKC2 3 months ago and I've played it pretty much constantly, and I haven't even started playing the WKC2 story yet! Yeah it sucks that there is no multiplayer anymore, but really who cares? The game has a half decent story but more than anything is simply fun to play!
Personally i would say this game but it depends on which one you find more interesting. Download the demo for heavy rain and watch gameplay videos of white knight. Whichever one you like more get.
I think this review is warranted, obviously the developer for this game didn't care for it. They didn't bother to bribe Gamespot like all FPS developers.

People seem to get offended when someone calls a game out on its bullshit. I don't get the impression that game reviewer didn't try to enjoy this game. A good review.
They said on the ps3 the bayonetta's colours and everything was washed down and there were a lot more technical problems. Whoever said IGN gives ps3 games bad ratings: Uncharted 2? Metal Gear? God of War 3 (when it comes out)? InFamous? Littlebigplanet? Etc.
@zombiekicker i'm sry didnt mean to be rude, and i do agree gamespot have reliable reviewers., i just do not like the fact that people dont try a game because 1 or 2 reviewers said it wasnt all that great, FF11 didnt get good reviews but i loved the shyt out of it, MAG isnt getting any 9+ score but i think its the best FPS to hit the market in a long time. i'm just saying reviewer is only 1 person. bayonetta got almost perfects scores, and i cannot play the game for more than 20mins.
i realy loved the game, i didnt care what GameSpot said, yes the gameplay dose need work but still great game the White Knight reminded me of Evangelion though but i still liked it hopfuly in the sequel your Avatar gets his/her own Knight and its custom i know there was 5 Knights but you never know, there might of been more

This game came out on 2009. The story has plenty of background and lore behind it, like the knights and different factions. Is it cliche? yeah sure, but shitty really? waiting a full 5 seconds to attack? wtf? Lol thats jrpgs. I can't believe how lazy the developers got with White Knight Chronicles 2. They literally changed most of the cutscenes from animation to gestures.... not to get me started on the constant swarm of wasps. Desert - Wasps, Forest - Wasps, Arctic - WASPS!? If you want my advice, stay away from the second one. Although the first isn't that great either (in my opinion), the second one is beyond lazy.
how does leonard have that armor in the beggining?!?!?! theres only one armory i know of which is in the kingdom, but the best armor is copper plate!!!! will i come across more armories or ami missing something??!!?

But JRPGs have been pretty bad this gen, and seeing how it took Japan years to globally release their first HD JRPG, that's not a really good sign on their industry or the genre.
hey if you haven't gotten this game yet word of advice wait till august and get the first and second on the same disc for an extremely long and epic adventure!!!!!! XD

good point i but me personally love ff12 because of the new direction it took. the story was a good change of pace for the series and i play a lot of mmos so i had no problem with the battle system but yes squaresoft was amazing i do miss those days

Sleepy Combat? It reminds me so much of FFXI's combat and the online is so badass, Reviewer are feeling so biased now, They just opinionate the fuck out of everything, Not actually thinking about the kind of people who enjoy J-RPGs or just RPGS in general but instead, for example, If they were to die in a game more then twice they would say that it would be the hardest game in the world and wouldn't continue any further into the game.

I got the game yesterday and i have to say that it isnt as bad as the review says. The story isnt that great but its ok but the gameplay is fun. The online is really fun. It might not be the best ps3 game in the world but its a good one so if you really wanted to get it before you saw this review just got get it. Gamespot doesnt have the same exact taste as you when it comes to games so just get it.

@Mrpuddin100 Hell yeah! I'm a bargain bin buyer too. I did get Dragon Age 2 and it's good, the combat is a bit hack and slash arcadish and there is a TON of talk... but I'd still recommend it. For some reason, I think I like the 1st one more though. I dunno... I did play the damn thing for 4 hours last night, so there must be something to it.
Personally speaking. I like this game. Sure it's nothing original, but it's fun. Yeah, it may not be on the same level as say Persona 3 (if comparing JRPGs) or Mass Effect (though the 2nd one is barely a RPG in my opinion, too many RPG elements were cut out, but I still love it for what it is), but it's great fun, and when it comes down to it, isn't that what games are supposed to be? Lol I give a damn about the story. I love this game, but having to play through the storyline is annoying as hell. The easiest way to get equips is through the freaking story and it sucks having to play through the same generic garbage more than once, even with the ability to skip cut scenes. The fact that the story sucks is still mad annoying :P.

How did the first one ever have a following? Having a monster bite me when I'm 100yds away and around a corner isn't fair, isn't a "bug"... That's just a broken ass game. I want to try this one, but the first one was so broken and boring I just don't see the point. Still turned based, still have to walk around waiting for your circle to refill... Yawn. I think I'll just grab dragon age 2.
i doubt the people who made this review played barely 5 hours of the game and probably are shooter game fanboys WKC was an awesome game i'll admit the characters were a bit shallow but the story + music + combat were totally amazing in terms of online fantasy games of it's genre it is an unprecedented game i'll admit the first game was a bit easy (i only had my party wiped out 4 time in the whole game) but 2nd game is much more challenge i was wiped out at least 35 times in the first 2 hours

GameCrazy had a shipping error but let me pay the full price ahead of time, so I came back the next day when he said they would have the copies, only to find out the copies are only for the buttheads that reserved it ._.. i could imagine this review to be trie, iv noticed alot of RPGs now following the same formula and graphical style, iv played or seen atleas 4 games that look and play like this, some people just get so raging over jrpgs thinking there AMAZING, but in reality iv played a few good ones. Oh no i definitely dont think that it should be a 5.1. I was just saying that IGN doesnt give ps3 game bad ratings and i said why bayonetta was given a worse score on the ps3. I think WKC looks like a 6.5-7.5. I will definitely not be buying it though. well i just wanna point out some things about this guy rating this game. first he complains about some monster that takes to long to kill, i play ff11 and some other rpg's and its the same in every rpg why is this one so different?, 2nd that the maps are to big and easy to get lost, in every rpg game maps are supposed to be big environment, and are not easy to get around. complaining about the game being so easy and so they complain that the maps are too hard makes no sense. should had 7.5
@xAshe10x This game was quite late to the fray in what it set out to do. Japan is already noticing it's decling in RPGs in comparison to the rest of the gaming market. JRPGs this gen have hardly innovated or improved, continuously relying on gimmicks and cliches in the genre. JRPGs have become an extension of Anime, instead of unique experiences all their own. Entire JRPG franchises this gen have refused to improve and continue to dissapoint. So why is being arrogant a good thing?
it kinda weird that these reviewers like to bash this game because it doesn't fit into the element and yes it does have it issues but the game is suppose to be fun it should not matter what people say regardless. This game may have had some rough spots, and somewhat unoriginal, BUT I STILL LOVED IT. Call me crazy, but I actually enjoyed this game. Huh.

Fun game, but unfortunately, Final Fantasy 13 has overshadowed it a bit too much... even though I still think this game is a little bit better.

White Knight Chronicles i give this a 8 out of 10. the game is interesting to play and fun.

i could imagine this review to be trie, iv noticed alot of RPGs now following the same formula and graphical style, iv played or seen atleas 4 games that look and play like this, some people just get so raging over jrpgs thinking there AMAZING, but in reality iv played a few good ones. And those were FF7, FF10, Xenosaga, maybe a couple more i forgot.
You only played for a couple hours so you have no right to be mad at this game.
the gamespot review was a bunch a bull i bet a bunch of you would agree WKC is a good game but had minor flaws. my opinion the only flaw was the enemies were too easy. and the WK is type overkill like i beat most the bosses without him.but the game overal is great i just wish they would make it a bit harder since the combos murder your enemies easily.and if you guys played rogue galaxy you kno to make weapons you need the frog same thing in wkc level 5 must have a fetish with frogs or something

they just reviewed this game based from hype and expectation..which i dont blame them...but they were just a little harsh on the game though its not as bad as they say

Oh no i definitely dont think that it should be a 5.1. I was just saying that IGN doesnt give ps3 game bad ratings and i said why bayonetta was given a worse score on the ps3. I think WKC looks like a 6.5-7.5. I will definitely not be buying it though. I think if its not a fantastic rpg (like fallout 3, oblivion, mass effect 2) then it is not worth it to invest the dozens of hours in it.
well i just wanna point out some things about this guy rating this game. first he complains about some monster that takes to long to kill, i play ff11 and some other rpg's and its the same in every rpg why is this one so different?, 2nd that the maps are to big and easy to get lost, in every rpg game maps are supposed to be big environment, and are not easy to get around. complaining about the game being so easy and so they complain that the maps are too hard makes no sense. should had 7.5

@xAshe10x This game was quite late to the fray in what it set out to do. Japan is already noticing it's decling in RPGs in comparison to the rest of the gaming market. JRPGs this gen have hardly innovated or improved, continuously relying on gimmicks and cliches in the genre. JRPGs have become an extension of Anime, instead of unique experiences all their own. Entire JRPG franchises this gen have refused to improve and continue to dissapoint. So why is being arrogant a good thing?
it kinda weird that these reviewers like to bash this game because it doesn't fit into the element and yes it does have it issues but the game is suppose to be fun it should not matter what people say regardless. As for ff13, I know that a lot ppl including myself would enjoy this game, but I also have to think about getting the game because ever sense SquareEnix came out with ff12, it really did something good for a chance but it really didn't felt like I was playing a something else.........
Umm you can turn into a big knight in the online portion lol get your facts right and no I'm like 10 hours in and nt even close to the end of the game and getting my character up it's prob the best rpg I ever seen
It actually looks exactly like Final Fantasy XII... without the good story and voice acting, that is. It's a shame since I really like FFXII. Skipping this one, I guess.

If you dont like white knight chronicles because the combat you will not like ff13because that is the samething. also ff12 and ptrobably 13 have bosses with huge life bars. its ment this way so that you have to think what to do insttead of hack and slash hack and slash and dead. you have to think. so whats the point of rating if you dont like thinking? not bagging on gamespot. there cool lol

i actually disliked FFXIII, a better thing to point out would be the fact that the dark cloud series (10 years old or so now) is far better than this despite the fact that its the same company. and alot of people say that this doesnt have anything unique or special when ive nver found that particularly important. i love ultra generic rpgs so long as theyre done well, but this game isnt so i didnt like it. dark cloud was a very generic dungeon crawler but i still loved it.
