I joined the Revell Master Modelers Club when I was 10 years old in 1975. That turned into a 40-year career as a mechanic along with a 30-year hobby with my own body shop restoring cars in my spare time. That hobby brought in close to $700,000 and a two-year waiting list. Put your game controllers down and learn a trade, kids!
Hello Kenny I’ve never heard of that master modelers club me also I was in the body shop business for 45 years I built a lot of cars made a lot of extra money when I was a technician. I would go to my shop and work from 6 o’clock till 12 building cars and then get right back at it at 7 o’clock As a technician at a dealership collision center But in reality, it was models that got me into that because I enjoyed building them, you’re right these kids gotta get off these phones and get down some real work the hardest time trying to get young people into the collision industry. They don’t want anything to do with it because it’s hard work and you have to have skills to be a technician In the next 25 years collision industries gonna be in trouble unless we can get robots to do the work thanks for your comments👌✌️
@@MUSCLECARCORNER427 Look up Revell master modelers club. I'm sure it's long gone now, but I had a t-shirt and patch with Revell on them. It was hard work restoring cars, but very satisfying when they were done... If you think collision techs are going to be hard to find, try finding a mechanic in the next 10 years. We are a dying breed.
cheers mate, building kits and from scratch since 1967, xmas gift ferrari sports car age 9 living in cork, ireland,,,erin go braugh, buona fortuna senor DeMartini,,! Robert in Torino...
Hello Kenny yeah, it’s amazing. How just build the model can shape and mold a person for their future. Yes we need mechanics as much as we do auto text. Mechanics is a little bit different than coming in savvy with computers and get the job done if they train properly but auto body Texas a different animal now I’m repairing cars these days opposed to 25 years ago, so much industry, hybrid, and electric cars need to get these kids involved, but you were old school dudes. We’ve been there done that and got the T-shirt I poop 47 years in the collision industry and restoring cars and managing large collision centers. I’ve had enough of it. I’m glad I’m doing what I’m doing for my retirement so please subscribe.✌️☮️
great stuff CCCH, i was looking to find a painting i donated to don for his museum back in 1990s, when i used to live near by his Ocala location. My painting shows Tom Hoover Blowing his engine while doing a burn out prior to making a run at the 1969 Winternationals. Don and his wife, loved it, and had it framed and and I think it is in a section of Tom Hoover/ AA/FD in the museum. Thank you again, just lovely what you are doing, cheers from Italy,,Robert
Hello well that’s a great story. You know what I’ll do for you. I will look for that picture and see if I can get a video of it uploaded for you. That was awful. Nice of you to give them that painting. Super cool in Italy now? There’s no drag racing over there is there ?? Thanks for your comments and story please subscribe to my RUclips RUclips channel.
