Hi! What is the purpose of the knob gears? I've built one set that has them, but I don't know why they are used instead of normal gears with teeth. Thanks!
Know how the teeth can slip if you make it go really fast you can make him slip, but if you’re going slow, it won’t slip with a really good type of clutch stripping gears
Surprised to see a video from channel with so few subscribers in my feed. But it's quite nice. What I'd like to see is also mentioning the years the part has been manufactured, not only because I'm a big nerd, but it can sometimes explain "why this exists".
I just got a new lego technic set and I want to use the gears for a new machine! But my brain was to dumb to understand how it works XD but this video helped me out sooo much! :D Thank you!
@@SaturnineXTS I bought evry gear I coupd find and some of the old models are discontinued which makes them harder to get and some other gears were too expensive to buy
8:37 This would actually be on the same line because they are not apart from each other. If graphed, the line that the gears that you called "parallel" would be the same exact line, but a parallel line would have the same slope with a different x- or y-intercept. Call me a nerd if you want; I just wanted to classify.
In English, if you see a th in a word, it is never pronounced like a t (except in proper names of non-english origin like Thailand for example). The th sound is like an f or an s. Instead of teeth to teeth like an s, or lip to teeth like an f, put your tongue in between your teeth and make the same sound but with your tongue. It's so similar to an f sound That on video, people might not be able to tell. Many cockney accent people in England speak English this way. But saying a t sound when you mean th, is just as crazy as saying a c sound when you mean ch.
no i dont dont know how i got this account back i just saw a post on the other day that someone was using the same account and i was like what the heck is that supposed to be. i just saw it on my feed and i thought it looked weird. but its ok im not the only one. the other one was just a little bit more like a little girl who was a bit more. i think its just a little bit more like a boy who has been around for like an hour now.please help me im under attack

Very helpful! Now I must go and sort my gears into all their different types!
Hi! What is the purpose of the knob gears? I've built one set that has them, but I don't know why they are used instead of normal gears with teeth. Thanks!
They are usaly used for mechanism in cars, handles and other features i might cover later. I might make a short about it soon
crown gear is used to connect spur gears in right angles, the bevel gear cannot be meshed with spur gears in right angles, but a crown gear can.
It is only for that, although it can be used as a spur gear too. It is very useful with those differential housings with spur gear only.
And the gear itself existed before bevel or double bevel gears.
@@SMV-CC88 yeah, like a decade before.

There needs to big pressure or force and fast speed

I have the gray 8 tooth and for some reason it slides loose on axles so it's basically like the no friction gear
Some of these have a very loose fit indeed, Lego tolerances are a bit more random these days. Assuming your 8T aren't cracked
I feel like earlier in 10:12 that I'm being rickrolled...
8 tooth gear with 1.5l axle it has been made for going up and down like a bird's wing
