Thank you for the video. Like most people who started out, I purchased a block of UPCs from eBay (2012) which abled me to list my products I invented. I tried to trademark my company name but was rejected after multiple responses to multlple office actions. Years later, I decided to trademark a new company name and purchase UPCs from GS1. In your video, you mentioned merging old with new listing keeping the reviews. What do you recommend when trying to merge old (UPCs) to new listings (UPCs) with different brand?

You'd have to change the brand names first, but yes I would recommend it

Hello..7 years ago I bought upc off eBay. 4 weeks ago Amazon restricted my listing which had great reviews and sales. Clearly I don't have GS1 upc in that listing. Is there a way to fix the issue without opening a new listing and lose the reviews?
    Thanks

Hi MAG! I did this exact process (merged two different ASIN with two different UPC) The merge was successful however in the AMAZON catalog when I search the new (retained) ASIN, the OLD UPC/EAN are still linked.
In the product detail attributes page however the new ASIN and NEW UPC are showing. There is a mismatch between the catalog and the product attributes page. This is creating tremendous problems mainly, when a customer goes to leave a review, the page shows "product does not exist" because the url is linking back to the old ASIN.
Its like they merged everything correctly but never changed the old UPC/EAN in their catalog backend specifically.
Have you come across this? hugely appreciated.
    -Kathryn

If you merge the two ASINs, will Amazon keep the reviews and review counts intact? What about Amazon Ads campaigns?

      Ads are SKU specific.
      Reviews combine.
If SKU still exist ads will

Hi Steven, I am in the process of buying UPC codes and apparently if I buy them from the UK it costs only 100£(annual membership fee), and from US costs 750$ plus a 150$ annual renewal fee.
Since they are globally recognized, why would buy them from the US?

I went to create a new listing and entered a GTIN UPC like I have every other time, but this time Amazon blocks it and says it’s not linked to my product. So I guess they are not allowing UPC’s that aren’t linked to your business name anymore?

Open a case, explain your issue, attach the GS1 certificate showing your ownership of the UPC and ask them to resolve the issue. Attach the error screenshot you face at the time of creating a new listing.

It is possible that Amazon has recently updated its policies regarding GTIN/UPC codes. Generally, GTIN/UPC codes must be registered to the brand owner or manufacturer and linked to the product being sold. This is to ensure the accuracy and consistency of product identification across the Amazon marketplace.
If you are receiving an error message stating that the GTIN/UPC code is not linked to your product, you may need to verify that the code you are entering is registered to your brand or manufacturer. If it is not, you may need to obtain a new code or apply for exemption from Amazon's GTIN/UPC requirements.
You can also contact Amazon Seller Support for further assistance with this issue. They may be able to provide more information on the specific reason why the GTIN/UPC code is not being accepted and what steps you can take to resolve the issue.
