Hello my lovelies!
Here’s a new detective melody for your entertainment, which I called 'A Villain in Me’. I hope it will bring you focus and inspiration!
For all of you out there trying their hand in writing a murder mystery case, I’ve compiled a list of tips that hopefully will help you in your endeavour:
1. A murder mystery’s answer lies in character. Connect with your characters as real human beings, who are they, and what do they want?
2. Make sure that your plot keeps the readers guessing, and start with an engaging hook. Use suspenseful techniques.
3. Beware the line between duping and misdirecting. Include a shocking twist. Provide subtle clues and red herrings about the story.
4. Make sure the ending is satisfying. Deliver upon your initial promise to the reader.
5. Keep asking questions of your plot to avoid plot holes.

If there is a twist villain that everyone thought was the nice guy, make sure they have plenty of subtle "antagonistic moments" (i.e. "accidentally" destroying something important, a few narcissistic moments, etc.) to help further the belief they are the villain (i.e. the difference between someone like Bellwether from Zootopia and Ernesto de la Cruz from Coco).

I don't write detective stories but I find the video totally impressive and I'm fascinated by this and previous melodies.
Piano music has always captured my heart and I think this melody has something mysterious about it.
