Thank very much for the review. Best one I found on Gen2. Looking to buy it in 243 for my son, and this video helped me to make the decision. Really appreciate.

Enjoyed the review. The question is, does the MDT Field Stock fit? If it does, that's a viable option for those who don't like the new stock design.

I tried to adjust my trigger, wouldn't go below 4 1/2 # . Backed the adjustment screw all the way out. Sent it back to Ruger. They said they shot 20 rounds through it and it functioned ok. I replace the trigger spring with a Mcarbo spring 3lbs now! 204 Ruger sub moa all day now

I've got a Howa cerakote camouflage stock that will poke all three rounds into a single jagged hole at 100 meters or 109.4 yards and it doesn't matter if it's a Remington or winchester 100gr core lok or a power point bullet. After 60 rounds it went from a 3/4 outside to outside group to a single jagged hole the size of a cigarette butt looking right at me. I figure it took those 60 to smooth out the bore and fill in the imperfections of the bore. It's got a 22 inch barrel and attains a maximum deviation of an average of 11 f.p.s. I always let my barrels cool off for 15 minutes between shots with the bolt open. I've been professionally trained in camp pendleton over 30 years ago and this is the only rifle that I own that I don't have to handload for optimum accuracy. Semper Fi.

I found my trigger pull gauge. I backed the trigger screw out 3/4 turn last time I had the stock off and it’s currently at 3lb 13oz. I’m guessing there are a couple turns left in the screw. The trigger pull gets better the more I shoot and it feels lighter than it is.

A 3/16 ball head Allen wrench will take that bolt out without removing the latch. It shows it in the manual. It’s not too bad after you do it once.

It's much easier than punching out the mag release.

I tried and it did work, though I felt I was rounding the bolt. Are you able to tell how much torque you applying when you put the bolt back in? When I tried, my wrench rubs on the release, and I can’t determine how much force is being applied.

@@darylgiese756 I tried the ball end too but it felt like it was stripping the bolt as well. So I ended up punching the pin out. I used the tool to put the release back together.

@@paullopez6588 I have had mine apart several times since the review and continue to punch the pin out. Now that I’ve done it a few times, It only takes about 10 seconds to get it apart and 1 minute to get it back together!

Do they not include a thread protector with these guns? I myself hate muzzle brakes too and that's the first thing I'd be tossing

I know there are guys who don’t. For some reason, I do when I put on a lot of miles. Honestly, I get paranoid now when I hike with a rifle without a locking bolt. Happy hunting!

How many in/lbs do you torque your action bolts to?

20 inches is not a short barrel

All of my other .243s have been 22 inch, which is the majority of what you find on the shelves. I have no issue with a 20.

My savage hunter in camo with a tapered bull barrel has killed ground hogs at over 300yds. It is not a 110 tho. Will shoot better than I can hold on bean bags. I love it, has never let me down when I squeeze the adjustable trigger. The e 3x9 Leopold mk3 never loses zero, tho I haven't dropped it. Best bolt gun I've ever bought. Now I have a BCA 243 SPIRAL CHROMED 20IN BARREL THAT'S WILL UNSEAT THE HOG SLAYER SAVAGE.
