Some explanation of Mercenaries mechanic - you get access to a unique building, allowing you to buy mercenaries. They are built instantly, and in entire group. They are slightly more expensive than normal units, but are also stronger AND affected by all the same upgrades, both armor/damage and the armory upgrades. That makes them great for just bolstering your forces with extra punch, especially since you get them in packs. The downside is that they have a cooldown and you can't buy them more than a certain amount of times per mission. In terms of meta-progression, they are very cheap relative to overall money you make, so it's generally almost always worth to buy the mercs. Also to note, there are SOME missions in the game where objective isn't to destroy all enemies, but doing so will still win you the mission, skipping the actual objective. Usually its missions where enemy attacks don't just spawn from drop-pods, nyduses or warp-ins, and where the enemy is the only thing keeping you from just afking through the rest of the mission.

Hey man! I absolutely love the campaign videos! Please turn on the 3D portraits and please keep all of the cinematics in your videos! We wanna see your reaction to them all! They are amazing!
You can also turn on death animations for single player campaigns. Makes the game a lot more prettier and enjoyable. Can turn everything off when you switch back to pro ladder games later.
Turn on subtitles for the cutscenes. We are here for your reaction to everything and a lot of us have played the campaign already. Also ultra graphics please.
Entertaining to watch a pro player play the SC2 campaign for the FIRST time ;-D YOU ARE DOING JUST FINE, HeroMarine! 😄 Competitive is 1 thing, campaign is another And I DID NOT EXPECT you to just casually crushed the Zerg base & slap the protoss in the face from the Zerg side 🤣🤣🤣 In my first play, I failed MISERABLY, ( T _ T ) Just enjoy the game, HeroMarine In campaigns as such, I need to take as good trades as possible. In my play, I prioritize bunker upgrade, I'll grab both +2 unit slots & +1 range ASAP to fend off attacks. Zerg harass is annoying in this mission, Zerglings/Roaches/Hydralisks/Banelings/Mutalisks. I built 2 or 3 bunkers & 1 depot to completely seal the entrance, with SCVs doing repair when needed & 2 or 3 barracks pumping 3Ms (Marine/Marauder/Medic). Also turrents on the left too mainly to deal with Mutalisks Knowing that bot will ACTIVELY try to target fire medic, at the START, I ALWAYS put medics 2 or 3 tiles behind my units & HOLD POSITION (pull unit BACK when it needs to be healed), by doing this, if stalkers were to target fire my medics, they're gonna have to eat lots of grenades from marauders In smash & grab mission, what I like to do is, chill, & build a BIG POWERFUL bio ball behind my bunkers, when it reaches critical mass, AFTER yet another zerg attack (in order NOT to collide my main force with zerg), open the depot door & crush protoss in 1 go
Lol, heromarine, feeling like he's being scammed because the matauder isnt as broken in the campaign as it is on the ladder, gives me a sense of satisfaction. Newsflash, the marauder isn't supposed to be that op
Skip the hanson' mission befor you get tanks, last mission will give you a viking, but if you skip hansons missions an back after others, her mission will be very ez for you, second her mission is pain in ass without tanks
Ty for the video! Can you plz portreits? feels essential for campaign. Also graphics in cutscenes is a separate option as far as i remember. So you can make it better without affecting gameplay
If you want to be a bit more efficient with the scv's, you can fit three scv's on the far away mineral patches without them bouncing off it, 2 for the closer ones. You'll get more mineral income with fewer scv's build
I think it's a cool idea if you want to play this campaign where you try to do the objectives while also clearing the map of enemies where possible, and perhaps later redoing the campaign for the achievements. However you want to do it is fine though. Also I think the sound is good.
If you want a more refined experience of WOL you should definetly try the WOL Version from Kit. It fixes almost all annoyances and errors and also rebalances some things. For example Marauders and Firebats get Stim and Marauders also get their health upped ;)
25:40. If you haven't played the SC1 campaigns, and you'd like to go through them, but are not happy with the original mechanics, you can later check the "StarCraft Mass Recall" fan remake on the SC2 map editor. It's really good, and with the original cinematics and dialog lines, as well as some cool ingame machinima cinematics.
12:43, it seems you're not noticing the bonus missions, which usually means you get research earlier and more upgrade money later on. Not sure If you noticed before finishing the mission (still not finished the video while typing this)
i wouldn't recommend looking at achievement as this is your first play through they tend to spoiler things that will happen in the missions. just enjoy the game.
Can't wait to angrily comment about him not picking whatever upgrades I think are the best
like how bunker upgrades are unironically insane ;D
The entire campaign is a masterpiece, pure fun.
Yeah, just as long as we do summarize the story. The story is awful and cliche. But the game design is so good you forget about it

you should put all the graphics on ultra when playing the campaign. it feels way better in campaign
+1 for ultra settings. The game looks gorgeous despite being borderline retro
@@lancepjt4190 this game from 2010 looks better than most games in 2024

Higher graphics settings would make this more watchable!
please turn on 3D portraits
"I'm the Zerg now" made me lol
Something to consider: the units are WoL units. So the stats are from back then.
Turn on subtitles for the cutscenes. We are here for your reaction to everything and a lot of us have played the campaign already. Also ultra graphics please.
I'm glad you like the campaign. Can't wait to see you play the next missions!
Excited to keep watching more Gabe!
great video. unlike 1x1 in campaign bunker is actually pretty useful cos enemy Ai keep sending waves.
That last cut scene with marine pulling a revolver reminds me of brood war.
Very nice video. Its very interesting to see someone who is so good at the game play the game with their perspective
Hi Gabe. Can your maxout your settings, to have a more nice watching experience? Thx man.
I love the campaign wish it was a Hollywood movie

liking the campaign so far. Wouldnt mind longer uploads
thanks for putting in reactions and stuff, appreciate it :)
One of us! One of us!
Blizzard used to be known for their cinematics. Its what makes the campaigns so good.

I haven’t touched the campaign either despite playing since 2011, lol. Ladder is just too much fun.
You could turn on subtitles for the cutscenes so we can understand the dialogue even if it's quiet
Well i kinda wanted to see the achievements but since its your first time ill wait for a follow up vidoes too :)
This is so much fun to watch
Watching a pro BEASTING this is so much fun!!

You should try Nightmare mode! I'm very curious if a progamer of your caliber could beat that insanity on your first run.
If you want a more refined experience of WOL you should definetly try the WOL Version from Kit. It fixes almost all annoyances and errors and also rebalances some things.

I was so anxcious that he misses all the artifacts on myloth.
consider trying to play the nightmare mod for the capeigns, that make them harder, and sometimes add expansions to maps
You don't like playing with animated portraits? I guess for competitive gaming it can be distracting, but it's nicer for this sort, in campaign
Keep in mind that the enemy has always better upgrades than you. ^^ It´s interesting watching a pro play the regular campaign. :D
This makes me happy!
Pnce u finish the campaign ,u can replay any lvl when ur gonna go for achievements .
This is the begin of the campaign ... Almost tutorial😅
12:43, it seems you're not noticing the bonus missions, which usually means you get research earlier and more upgrade money later on. Not sure If you noticed before finishing the mission (still not finished the video while typing this)
15:53, ok you ended up getting them XD
lol, dude never played a single player mode before. he is fascinated lol
Please watch all the cutscenes they are so good.
i wouldn't recommend looking at achievement as this is your first play through they tend to spoiler things that will happen in the missions. just enjoy the game.
I want more!!!
a little tip for better viewing experience- can u turn on subtitles for character dialogues plz? thx
Campaigns fun
Watch the news. It's super fun
why graphic is low
Love it
Is this part 2 or part 3 of the series? 🤔
Part 2
Turn on in game music bro
Is this just brutal or the nightmare difficulty?
He's on brutal, seeing that it's his first time playing it I don't think it's modded (and I know the nightmare difficulty, it's way harder than that).
ggs
With low GFX the interiors look worse than normally, so do character models.
bro PLEASE play on better graphics
