My middle school bully now literally has "mental health advocate" written in her bio and posts stories about how she had social anxiety and would eat lunch in the restroom in 8th grade and have panic attacks. When in reality I remember how she put ALL her energy to make sure nobody would be friends with me, I was fortunate enough to have two gems of friends who are still mine✨ after 12years. This is just a reminder of how fake people can be on social media.

Also the really awkward looking/nerdy kids aren't usually the ones who get bullied the worst either, more often they just get ignored, which is sad in its own way, but in my experience you're more likely to get bullied if you're viewed as a threat in some way, either because you're good looking but don't fit in personality-wise or because you're loud and outspoken and opinionated.

when i was 9 i bullied that one girl in my class. she always stole my pencils and i if i told her i wanted it back after i saw her using it, she pretended that it are her pencils. at some point she had 6 different colors of MY pencils. so i called her dumb and ugly and told everybody in my class that she was a thief. did that for a year. i don't regret it.

I used to bully people at school and tell myself it was because I was bullied at home. But last year my toddler son asked why I kept putting different spiders in the same empty baby food jars. I told him it was fun to watch them fight to the death and I wanted to know who would win. He asked if the spiders thought it was fun. I released the spiders across the street and stopped making them have death battles, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss it. I give a little dissapointed sigh every time I humanely release one so my son doesn’t get sad. I realized I may have been a bully even if I’d had a good home life. Guess we’ll never know.
