2:40 " Oh wow that's close" I work in a body shop where I pack in 30 cars, bumper to bumper, door to door, and you would never see me parking it that close, This guy knows his shit. Also never got any merch before but I think I'm going have to pick up a couple things, The drop is looking fire!!!

Remove the resonator, it’ll def be a lot louder.
Just cut off the silencers after the Y pipe, weld on straight pipe from there with those tips. Sorted 🙂

Always wondered why no car covers were used in shop to protect from overspray, etc.
Can get cheap ones at Walmart, Costco, and other places. These covers can be considered sacrificial, as they take the damage and not what is underneath
I always wondered why he doesn't use covers. I guess he just likes that unprotected life?
@@DamianHyde Probably never had reason to, would be my guess. I've worked in body shops and we had to move cars or cover them. Probably a shop liability thing.

Turbo reduces the fa20’s volume by like 50% I was really disappointed when that happened to me. would be super bad ass if you made a dual exit tomei 80r 😂
i was running a straight pipe (no resonator either) 2.5 inch from a 3inch downpipe on my b18 turbo ek hatch and it wasnt even that loud lol! crazy how much a turbo can quiet down a car :)

Teardrop hood exit exhaust!
If you want a LOUD dual exit, that also looks nice! Look into the Corsa Catback. I have no cats except for a hi flow cat but it's still loud AF. But still sound nice

Not sure what's on that car and what you already removed Devin, but Turbo is going to make it bit quieter, removing any cats/Resonators/muffler (aka straight pipe) is thing that will affect noise most, aftermarket headers pipe diameter, don't really change the loudness that much either. Check for any noise dampening/waddling material in exhaust too. Cat in downpipe and Resonators seem to have most dramatic effect on loudness for me.

Maybe cut that resonator out or just replace that whole mid pipe with a larger diameter. That dual exhaust looks so perfect on that car is the only thing. Maybe a catless down pipe if you don't have one already that is. I know its quiet but it still sounds good at least 🤷♂️

If you buy a tomei they also sell a carbon fiber cover for the exhaust cutout for the the stock diffuser you could try and make it work on the rocketbunny diffuser
Fix the old one, so it flows out both tip's. Simple straitpipe the side thats not flow exhaust 👍
Tomei makes a dual exhaust setup for the brz’s it’s basically two 80r mufflers + Y pipe and it’s crazy loud
Another good loud exhaust is the Greddy gt dual exhaust. I run it on my brz and sounds pretty good
I have a turbo brz - catted front pipe and greddy supreme sp. I was open dump but got my wastegate recirculated recently. I am disappointed how quiet it is now at WOT.
cut that secondary resonator out of the system. it does have a little packing in it. but yeah turbo's will make it quiet.
or you can cut the mufflers out, and weld in a "Straight pipe" look and only weld 1 of the mufflers back into the exhaust where it's just single piping.

Get a turbo-back exhaust it's kinda like straight pipe but you also hear the turbo through the exhaust too.
between NA and turbo, for sure there are different in tone

Re powdercoat overspray, just get cheap plastic car covers , their like $10 on ebay, less if bulk buy , love the content 👍
cut out the part of the bumper that identifies he two individual exhaust ports.
then add a rear difuser, this will allow for the single exit exhaust and close in the back of the bumper so it dosent look jenk or like an after thought.
The turbocharger is silencing the noise. That is why it sounds so different / quite compared to the BRZ.
Maybe its cause im old but i prefer this to the brz. Sounds much better imo.
The remark x ftspeed dual exit, quad exhaust is probably the loudest system you can get.

I was about to say Devin, the FRS is boosted so it’s gonna be a lot quieter then the BRZ, given it’s NA and also has a bit bigger engine, I’d say like someone else mentioned, cut off the resonator and you’d probably be good!
Get the tsudo catback exhaust I had it on my brz and was amazing
Try invidia n1, it has a deep tone to it
Take off the mid pipe with resonator and make it straight pipe. Should make it louder.
Tomei sells a carbon fiber cover for the non used side separately
You should look into Crawford preformence exhaust they make one for the brz / 86. I had on my 04 sti and currently on my forester and absolutely loved the sound.
If your really stuck on dual exit imo the greddy EVOlution GT seems to be a pretty solid favorite although Tomei single exit is the best to me

Install a dump valve, something different you haven't done yet, would be a good episode, thing would scream under boost, and it actually helps performance.

On idle that new exhaust sounds pretty loud🤔. However it’s DEFINITELY more quiet than the previous exhaust😳.

Can always do an electronic cutout on it. I have one on my Evo X and it’s fuckin nuts. I also have a Tomei.

Why you didn’t go MAP usually your go to, Invidia N1would look sick.or N2 I think the N2 is more aggressive sounding than the N1, Invidia normally never disappoint!
Borla gets great reviews though not sure if others have a turbski in the mix.

Turbo tends to act as a bit of a muffler sir. As others said can try a resonator delete and see whats up.

Life lesson.. turbos are mufflers.. it sounded damn good from my ear buds.
Cut out resonator and put 2 short fat resonators behind the tips. Sounds good
NA build with UEL header will always be louder than an FI build with either EL or UEL headers.
I have an invidia n1 on a stock FR-S and it's pretty damn loud. I was told it's 2nd loudest next to the tomi.

Get an HKS high-power exhaust its dual exit and it can have burnt tips to match the blue

Remove the muffler on one side and put a valve on it!
For louder car, delete muffler not resonator like others are saying. Delete resonator and unlock the rasp.

Remove the wadding in the back box's will make it louder. Didn't you do that on the M3 before you got another system or did I see that somewhere else.
