Hey Jim! I've been an hvac tech for 5 years working in residential and new construction. I download all your videos and watch them on my hour drive to and from the office in the morning and night in the work van. You're a great tech and I've learned lots from watching you work! I just want you to know how much I appreciate your videos and how much they've helped me learn and improve. I think you're a great man, so nice, and a thorough and pro tech. Please keep the videos coming, I watch them every day and love watching you troubleshoot out there!
These are the kind of guys that built America and keep it running they may think their not important but to me they are the real deal. I could work with Jim all day and learn a lot.
I just started in refrigeration I usually work on ice machines but I've learned quite a bit from your videos thank you for spreading the knowledge experience like yours is hard to come by
Great video Jim! Always love to watch your video! I will be graduate from fortis college beginning of July. You are the person who inspired me to go into this trade. Thanks for all of the great video!
Great video Jim!!! Always enjoy how you make your videos. You always put detail information on what & why you're doing it or sugesting it to the customer!!! Thanks,
Hey jim.how you doing.havent seen any new videos lately. Hope you are doing ok.really like your videos. Getting really cold here in Knoxville tn.GodBless .
Nice job Jim. I am a new commer to your channel and really apprechiate your efforts to teach. Its really terrific when a well seasoned craftsman demonstrates and explains the details of his craft. Thank you for that! Do you do service calls down in New Orleans?
good vid. id maybe put the h.p safety out side the unit. easier to re-set. / trouble shoot. i like the idea of the male / female connectors though for troubleshooting.
Every AC system should have high and low pressure protection. The new R410a systems have high pressure protection, but here are a lot of units failing because these protections are not installed.
Hi Jim, I really like your videos. Very informative and detailed with great explanations. I have a random question though. I was wondering if you scrap your old units or just leave them on the no site. Thanks
Good video again , one question with the filter drier , would you not be simple to use a flare one and put flare nuts for a quicker change ? Just a thought . Yes you know it's not going to leak brazed . Anyway hi from the UK
I like flares on refrigeration systems because the driers tend to get changed every few years, on these seasonal AC units they can go for a little longer with out a change, thanks
Did you change out evaporator and flush linesets to completely remove all residual oil from the system? Mixing of the POE and mineral oils can cause foaming and inadequate lubrication of the compressor. Do you think this would be a problem long term?
Honeywell recommends mixing 15 to 20% POE on top of old oils, it floats and pushes the old alkabenzene or mineral oil back to the compressor, plus the old evap is above the condenser, thanks
Great vid Jim! So glad to see a new post from you, really like the manual reset hp safety switch, nice upgrades to the unit. Did you mix min and poe oil?
The most worst low end units are Nordyne the top end units be Rheem/Ruud, Lennox, Carrier, Goodman and Trane seems to be a decent brand the York brands are worse due to the microchannel coil design they leak and you can't pump them down as they can't handle the high pressures of R22 as well as R410A.
Jim what refrigerant is this unit It must be R22 did you hear or read new regulation that it EPA .Please get on to there web sit I was surprised might pass they want low GWP or zero GWP might be getting rid of all blends and others that we both use .They have 3 new refrigerant that have low GWP .They want phase out all refrigerant that have a high GWP faster then anybody thinks if l reading this right.
You know the auto reset is bad we had a unit that had a falling fan motor it wouldn't get up to proper rpm. So on really hot days the preassure switch would trip. Then it would reset and the unit would cool it ran like that for about 2 weeks because nobody knew anything was wrong it just felt like it was having a hard time because it was really hot out and the unit was a tad undersized so on really hot days it always had issues keeping up. So if some hadn't come out for the yearly service check nobody would have even know until it stopped cooling all together. I have so many things on my mind other then go and check the condenser regularly to make sure it's working that's why inlay someone to check it at the start of cooling season.

Good work! I'm in the trade up North. I like seeing what we do different and alike. Keep busy this Summer!
Nice job Jim. I especially liked that you moved the unit for access to the disconnects!
Thanks,

Nice work Jim i always add pressure switches also saves compressors years ago they used to come on units but every one is cutting cost.
Ac units are made too cheap, thanks
sweet job jim alway's looking forward to your excellent work!!!
thanks
Looks ten times better after you relocated the condensing unit
Nice work that is funny that you put beer cooler good idea
It worked, they value their cold beer more than $7. worth of copper, thanks
I like the pressure switches Jim. Nice work.

Excellent job Jim.
fun in the sun, thanks
yes sir love your thinking about manual reset!
that way the compressor will shut down and won't beat it's brains out, thanks
good vid. id maybe put the h.p safety out side the unit. easier to re-set. / trouble shoot. i like the idea of the male / female connectors though for troubleshooting.
Once again good video Mr. Jim !!!

Hi Jim, I really like your videos. Very informative and detailed with great explanations. I have a random question though. I was wondering if you scrap your old units or just leave them on the no site. Thanks

Hey Jim was that 404A gas you put in the unit? It was an orange tank.
I was thinking the same thing...
Its R407C, similar colour tank
it's orange

Excelent video. Good. Greetings from México 👌👋😀
Jim you are nr one . I fallowing your video from Latvia

never sweat an old filter/drier out-you drive moisture back into system--cut them out
Great video thanks for sharing.

Just have to wait for all the dust to settle, True is putting R290 (propane) in the new 2 door Pepsi coolers, thanks
@14:55 do not like compressor leads wrapped around compressor shell - have found leads shorted because the insulation melted.
Good video mr Jim Pettinato, here in las vegas nevada is imposible to get any R22 condensing unit , did you have to especial order that unit?
Nice! Thanks for the post.
thanks
nicely done Jim , was that a 407c system?
yes
do you work on racks?
I have in the past, I try to keep my life simple with less stress, thanks
was that a dry condenser for 407c
R407c is a replacement for R22, it'll be fine, thanks
box and unit look like a Payne, so its made by carrier
I'd have to ask at the supply house, thanks
nice

I was wandering is the AC designed for R407c or did you switch it from R22
