I'm not so sure this is good theology. I know the 700 club draws a lot of viewers by showing stories of hope and overcoming obstacles by miracles GOD performed in their lives, but I think GOD has other ideas. My pastor gave a sermon recently that was contrary to this message. He told us GOD's number one priority is to save as many people from this planet and bring them to heaven, and he is willing to do whatever is necessary to accomplish this which includes tragedy and hard times in this life. He said we will never know what the bad circumstances we endure here on Earth will accomplish and how far reaching it could be down to other generations. God does not always bring the miracles we need and provide what we need and take away the bad from our lives because he is more concerned about our eternal souls. GOD does do miracles, but it is ultimately to get somebody saved and to end up in heaven. GOD is awesome and loving but will allow us to suffer in order to save us or someone else.

John 3:16 is the epitome of God's heart; to save people from their sins and bring them to heave, not provide an easy, comfortable life here on Earth because for every miracle GOD does perform there are 10 people in need of healing and other miracles that never receive them here on Earth. The prosperity gospel has driven many people away from GOD because they believed the lie they will receive a miracle from GOD if they just have enough faith , but when they don't get that miracle they get bitter and walk away thinking GOD does not love them which is quite the opposite because maybe GOD is using the pain or whatever for their salvation or someone elses. Look at the apostle Paul when he prayed for GOD to remove the thorn from his flesh and GOD said " no, my grace is sufficient " . Paul wrote 2/3 of the new testament, he is the poster boy of faith.
