Exelent information. I live a mile up the street from your store. So I can presume my GR city water is the same as yours. Thanks for the information about the Ammonia and Phosphate in our water.

This is one of the most objective and informative explanations of aquarium fertilizers I've seen. I just wish I could have found this video earlier.
I can also say that 😀mistakes were mad😀 when I was trying out different fertilizers and ended up with algae growing over everything.

We like to tell ourselves it's not a mistake if we learned something... but maybe the plants would beg to differ! Thanks for watching!

if i use thrive c with shrimp in a heavily planted low tech 17 gallon, can I still do my regular 20% weekly water change?

I love that the biggest takeaway seems to be, "Mistakes were made... FOR SCIENCE. And look what we learned from it!"

Damnit! I am on GR City water and just recently got Nilok! Looks like seachem is best for me and my low-tech tanks?

We've been loyal to Seachem fertilizers for years. They offer the most control, and when you have water like we do that makes a big difference. We're working on some videos on specific products in that line and how to use them, so keep an eye out!

I really wish this video would have come up in my searches a year ago before I bought Easy Green. I'm on well water that is basically liquid rock, have to mix it with distilled water.

The ammonia in tap isn’t strange if your tap is treated with chloramines. When you treat it with water conditioner it neutralized the chlorine but left the ammonia. Every water change I do I get .25-.50 ammonia depending on season and rain. It’s ok because my plants and cycle is used to this and takes care of it in less than 12 hours.
