Here is what is in a T5 World Class rebuild kit. A short trip to EricTheCarGuy's Shop. Our T5 rebuild video will be aired on his channel along with some other videos we did together. Thanks for watching, comments appreciated, please subscribe.
+GearBoxVideo Will the kit you displayed here work in my 94 95 T 5? if so, how do I get one. thanks in advance. Also what is your opinion on billet Keys? I found some on ebay for 65 a set. thanks in advance.
The kit is on my website and will work for your T5. I never use billet keys because keys break when synchros wear or you have bad clutch release. I have never had any stock keys break in any of my race units. My shopping cart is at www.5speeds.com/cart
+GearBoxVideo Thank you for your quick response and money saving tip. I will be purchasing from you again soon for the kit.
+GearBoxVideo the teeth on 2 of my gears that help it engage ar flat ish can i file them back or do i need to replaced them
It was an honor having you out Paul. I learned a great deal from you. Thank you very much for helping me with my transmission. I can't wait to try it out. We should do it again sometime.
+EricTheCarGuy Sounds good.Looking for some Honda cores
+GearBoxVideo I'll keep my eyes open. I've put 3rd gear in the Integra/Civic transmissions more than once in my career. Come to think of it, I've had to do it on some RSX transmissions as well. Not a bad job really. I find Hondas very easy to service for the most part.
never watched your videos till I saw you on Eric the car guy. love your stuff! you explain how it's works and how to step by step fix stuff. Subscribed!
Appreciate that.
Just watched your T5 rebuild vids with Eric, great stuff. Really enjoyed your working together and the amount of info and explanations you jammed into the work. And I especially liked that you were both able to teach each other new tricks. Very informative and enjoyable to watch.
Thank you. It was a great deal of fun.
Great video. Great channel. Your the man Paul. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
+budgaugh66 Appreciator the comment. Thanks
I'm working on a Suzuki but I still get some useful overlap from these videos.
Paul knows his stuff, he never "ummm's" "ahhh's" he just gives you the goods, top to bottom.
subscribed!!... great background music selections... but better yet greater amounts of knowledge and skill being displayed, keep them coming please!!
+cubapnea Thank You!
Yep welcome to ky gearbox. Hebron? Pretty far but not too far from me up here in these deep wooded hills
ok thanks paul , I will buy the one with the bushing in it. thank you so much my friend
Sweet vid, I'm rebuilding my transmission in the spring and any info I can get is great! (I'm gonna buy the book in the spring) I loved the music btw, very well done.

Great information! How much are the rebuild kits?
You should help him convert the Vigor to a manual lol Great video thanks!
You do look like someone I have seen on TV before... I may be needing a t-5 kit. Soon I hope. Unless I find a t56 or tko.
very cool
Thanks
World Class guy Paul Cangialosi building World Class T5`s.You are a professional my friend.
+judges69 Thanks for the compliment!
Hi, loved your video! I have a 2005 v6 mustang and im wondering if the t5 kit is universal for all the years or only for older mustangs?
There are different seals and some components not the same
Hey gearbox great vid as always. I pulled a t5 WC from a 96 v6 camaro. I have a 383 sbc. it been holding up pretty good but I heard of the trans breaking do to weak parts I guess. what would you recommend I do? it's a stout motor but I don't wanna break it so I just been cruising it lately.
+Isaac Rivera That gearset really can't be improved. I'm curious as how you got the longer input to work with the V8. Did you use the 6 cly bell housing?
I watched the videos and they were awesome. Very informative. Im a vw guy and looking to rebuild my box out of my eurovan. I know they arent the same but I found your videos very helpful. There are just two things I dont understand.
1) Why our cousins over the pond still measure everything in inches when metric is much simpler😂
2) when you measured the shims, do you really just measure the end play by feel alone? Do you not use a DTI to measure the end movement?
These US made transmissions are not Metric. The hardware is, but the prints are not. Newer units are. When it comes to measuring shims, it's subjective as to what system to use. Most digital gauges can toggle on and off from MM to inches so I don't think it requires any brain work to use one over another. As far as using a dial indicator to measure endplay , go for it. What you need to understand about my channel and what I try to achieve is being able to teach people to build transmissions with basic tools. Some people don't have indicators. Maybe because I've built 1000's of transmissions this isn't a concern for me.
Did you play TIG in Sons of Anarchy? lol jk you look like him! Good work, I'm planning on rebuilding my T5 soon. Never rebuilt one before but these vids make it seem like I can do it.
Andres Rivas i get that often. If you need support feel free to post questions on our Facebook page at www.transmissionbook.com
T5 is a beast.....Subbed
Thanks
Great videos. What would be a good site or do you sell a rebuild kit for a Nissan 240sx 5 speed? Thanks.
If you have the Nissan unit not the a T5, I can get some parts, depends on the year. The T5 units are not an issue.
Your video on ETCG introduced me to your videos. Ultimately it convinced me that I could afford to swap out my Auto on my foxbody if I jumped in and rebuild a used T5. I don't see the kits are available much on your site, if you don't offer them do you have a suggestion? Are billet Keys and brass shift fork sliders worth an upgrade for a mild 302? Thanks much for you excellent videos and book.
We do offer them on my website. I make my own kits. If they are out of stock I suggest using the Notify button
With the newer style rings, is there any gains in HP/TQ handling capacity in the WC T5?
Your videos rock! A great visual companion to your book. Thanks!
+Adrian Pillow Rings cannot increase the torque capacity
Roger that Paul! TY
I have been looking all over the internet for find out if the inside a of a v6 t5 fit inside the older casing of a t5 for v8
Any world class is interchangable and any non world class is interchangable..
Paul,
Dont be modest, You are the "GuRu" ,you wrote the book!
I watch every video you do, and enjoy them all, Ive always been fascinated by gear boxes, I've swapped manual transmissions into every automatic vehicle Ive owned, (3), but I've swapped and upgraded many manual gear boxes from 3 speeds to granny gear boxes @GM SM 420,
and one Borg Warner T-18.
I also took a worn out 3 speed column shift and swapped in my 2nd Muncie 4 speed. I love shifting gears, to me there's no other way to drive, Autos are nice but Give me a gear box anyday.
+Skeefoo Panama With that resume you are a gearhead!
+GearBoxVideo
Yes sir, that's not counting engine swaps, but Ive certainly done more transmission swaps.
do you sell any of these transmissions? im in need of one lol, great channel! really learning alot!
I sell just parts. There are new Ford T5's sold all over the place. Summit, Jegs, Ebay etc
Also my T5 has a little plastic vent that went into a slot on top of the the tail housing and against the case. I broke it. Does it do something vital? Is it replaceable?
The old plastic vents are sandwiched in between the case and tail housing, so they are impossible to remove. if you have enough room to clamp a hose to it that would be your only option. the vent cap keeps dirt and debris out of the transmission while allowing it to vent internal pressure.
Hey mate, love your channel. I was just curious, have you ever build a dogbox t5?
Yes, I actually designed some of the first gearsets. Here is a link to a page on my website:
www.5speeds.com/racing/jt5rc.html
+GearBoxVideo Awesome! Might of known you'd had something to do with them :) What is the durability like on the dog ring/straight cut setups? I.e. for a daily driver?
Not really a good idea because the dog rings will get hammered over a period of time. the other problem is the transmission will go into gear at any time at any speed. one of the reasons I no longer sell these transmissions is because people can put them in for example first gear at 150 miles an hour and do a great deal of damage to their engine and themselves.
Hi there, been watching your T5 videos before I strip my transmission down. I've a T5 that won't shift from 5th to 4th. I have to go from 5th to 3rd then back to 4th. Going up into 5th isn't a problem. Any idea what this could be .
Thanks
Not really. Block out conditions are usually due to the sliders teeth being skewed or flattened
T5 rebuild kits SOLD OUT!! when are they going to be back in stock?
Do you carry the NON World class kits also?
Thanks
Use the notify button. We can build 10 kits and they will sell out in a day. I'm working on putting more kits together. I use OEM parts and Tremec does a horrible job of supplying parts.
I didnt, but the guy I bought it from said he interchanged parts to make it work. don't know what he did but it fits haha. but I would thing all t5 parts are interchangable, are they not?
+Isaac Rivera Not all parts are interchangeable.
Does this apply to a 2000 camaro 3.8 5speed?
Yes, just order the GM version from our site
I have a 94 mustang with a T 5 and it shifts good but makes a whine noise when acceleration in 3rd and deceleration in 1st and 2nd. Do you think it could just be the bearings getting worn? 150k miles stock T5
+Justin Hirsch Usually a whine is from worn gears. Bearings make growling erratic noises when damaged or worn.
+GearBoxVideo ok thank you
10's across the board. Totally disagree with Ken. Ken just doesn't recognize professional guitar, so I suppose he doesn't recognize professional video. Absolutely fabulousand thank you for who you are and what you do. BILLY WILLY
+Bill Gras Thanks Billy.
How can I get one of your rebuild kit for a 95 t5,,,? And what is the prize? Your vedios have gave me the knowledge and confidence to do it,,,Thankyou
Available from my website at www.5speeds.com
You didn't use your counter gear stabilizer plate?
+Ron Reason I'm showing what goes in a standard World Class Rebuild Kit. For his build we did use one of my stabilizer plates.
+GearBoxVideo Oh great. You should have a kit with the upgrade included. I might buy one but my transmission is looking pretty good so far.
When people order a kit and they want a plate, they get a discount on the kit.
+GearBoxVideo Great. If I need a kit I am coming to you. Can't wait for the video!
how can i get one of your t5wc rebuild kits??
+Victor Reyes My online store at www.5speeds.com/cart always add the make and model in the comments
can you please tell me what the things are in the bottom left that look like real tiny medal cars mine are broken
+christopher capobianco Those are the strut keys see 3:03 they will usually break when the rings wear low.
Ty very much sir . So you would not advise me just replacing the keys? I think I can do that myself .lol
+christopher capobianco wait for Eric the car guys video to come out first week of January it's a full rebuild video of the t5 with me in it
Ok I'll give it a shot I'm not paying these people anymore around here .I don't even make that much power to breaking T5s .thank u again
So which is stronger or better. T5 non WC or the WC?
The World Class was a redesign of the Non WC. Better bearings and better synchros. Strength issues vary from unit to unit. There were better alloys used in later transmissions
Thank you! Great videos by the way!!
So you buy an entire transmission, then sell all the parts at a profit?
No. I'm a Tremec dealer and can purchase individual parts and make my own kits up. I have purchased time to time new transmissions for gears that may be out of stock.
Hey when I called you a couple weeks ago you very sincerely said you don’t do Ford stuff. What happened??
There are no good quality sources for parts.
gear Kia??
+Luong Vu Nothing for the Kia
