    I spent 35 years as a master craftsman in the stained glass field. Man I wish I had apprenticed with you in this trade. It has inspired me to try leather work myself. Love your work!!

      David, I think you will really be able to pick up leather working very easily since you have worked with your hands as a master stained glassman. Thank You for your comment and enjoy leathercraft. Bruce

      Yes Thom! I agree. I have hand sewn stirrups like this and it takes about a day to do it. This is much more fun... Bruce

    It always inspires me to do more carving and tooling after watching one of your videos. Are you still going to make a whole saddle on your other channel?

    So is this a holster plate or is it a stir-up plate

    Hello Bruce,
    Like watching your videos, I have the cowboy 45oo also. I have tried using the holster plate and stirrup plate and have trouble with them. Anything you can tell me about the set up? thanks!

    hi Bruce. Thanks again for great video. Just got a stirrup plate for my Artisan machine. looks like it's tilted to the right a bit. is it normal? problem back stitching skipping. not making loops at all. forward ok, loops on bottom looks like too much tension on bottom. any advice

      What tread size and needle size are you using? The plate should be flat and not angled.

      Bruce Cheaney Thanks I am using 346 /277 #200LR needle. bought on eBay I think hightex/cowboy brand. Maybe I should buy original Artisan. but they all should fit

      200 hundred needle and 346 thread should work fine. I use needles made by Schmetz and get them from Weaver Leather.

      I got Schmetz needles from Weaver too. Just the plate was from eBay. Thanks I am returning it and ordering original from Artisan

    • @cheaneysaddles
      @cheaneysaddles  4 года назад

      I like the stitches to be set at 6 to 7 per inch. Thanks for watching!

      Bruce Cheaney thank you Bruce , that was very helpful , I followed your way and tried needle 25-200 for thread 277 (tkt 10 ) and it works fine with 10mm total of Veg tan leather , thread was breaking when I put feed dog although I increased hole size , but when I remove feed dog and keep plates only and with adjustment of tension and needle height it works nicely , my machine is Pfaff 335 , I replaced motor to servo ,,, much appreciate Your teaching
