I've done this two days in a row. This is the best jam that I've ever had. The taste is indescribable. I definitely will be making this a few more times this year.
Yes it’s delicious James! You are absolutely right, it’s indescribable. Try cloves if you haven’t the next time. Thanks for viewing and commenting. The stuff that we throw in the trash never tasted so good! Thanks Brother 🙏🏾
Thank you from whom all blessing flows. I have been looking for recipe. I'm 74 , I remember eating this as a child. I will be doing this. Again thank you. Love your videos.
Miss ma'am, your recipe is hands down better than the one I tried from my Ball book! I wish I'd just made both batches like yours! Thank you for this!!!
I’m making this right now. Letting rind and sugar macerate a little bit longer. Jars ready. Other ingredients standing by. Husband hanging around just in case a taste tester is needed. 😁 won’t be long❣️
@@GrammyYah7 it is delicious! I didn’t see your comment on adding cloves until just now but we love it the way you demonstrated. I gave away several jars today so we will sit back and wait for the applause 😁 and yes, I did subscribe and share. Happy to do so!
This looked so good that I saved all the rind from July 4th! I'm going to have to try it again as I had problems getting all the rind to soften (preserves got a little too thick trying to get the rinds soft); but it tasted good 😍 I'm thinking maybe I want cooking it on high enough heat??? I will say that I tasted some of the sugar after stirring it into the rind & wished I could figure it how to save some to put on margarita glass rims ❤ Thank you for sharing your recipe! God bless from Texas 🙏🏻❤
Fantastic Recipe Grammy❤ Your recipe is awesome. The only thing extra that I added was Cloves, because my husband andI love cloves in his Grandmas Apple butter...😊 Thank you for sharing you are Awesome ❤❤❤
You are welcome! You are ABSOLUTELY correct about the cloves. If you look in my comments you will see that I’ve been telling people to add cloves. My second batch I added ground cloves. The preserves are delicious both ways. Thank you Sis for trying my recipe ♥️
I have some cubed up and sugared watermelon rind in a big pot in the refrigerator right now. I will start cooking it tomorrow. This will be my first attempt. I have made wild fruit jellies, elderberry syrup, and Loquat (Japanese plum) butter. I knew I was going to like your video, because you had me with the first word out of your mouth "Shalom". That was also the last word you spoke on the video. I love how you framed the video with the first and last word being "Shalom".... Peace that passes understanding.
I will have to try your version! I make it for my 94 y/o mother who ate them as a little girl during the great depression. I am making some vinegar from the peels that are left over. Looks yummy!
Shalom Grammy Yah, APTTMHC, and the Holy Spirit, for coming through with the recipe. Your preserve looks delicious. who ever thought we could make preserves with watermelon rinds. My mother made jellies and preserves when I was a child. I never wanted to be in the kitchen to learn how to cook anything.
I have the same dollar tree towels and I just love them. I tatted the edges in lace pattern because they do curl up. I’m making watermelon comfrey today but it called for a baking soda soak. Hopefully fingers crossed because everyone just starts with sugar no soak. Hopefully I didn’t screw it up. You never know about these recipes on U tube some have turned out awful. 😊
Thank you for sharing. I just purchased a watermelon and wondered what I could do with the rind. Finding your video was on time!!! I will be making this.
Awesome!! Come back and let me know how you LOVE it! You can use a half a teaspoon of ground cloves and a half a teaspoon of cinnamon as well but it’s delicious either way!!♥️

@@GrammyYah7. We used cinnamon and cloves. We made it to sweet for my taste. My husband was trying to duplicate his moms recipe.
