definately useful with the PLaner as well as the table saw. (i have the antistatic hose) but i have not had the need for it yet.

It is nice to be able to connect larger tools to my CT 48 with the cyclone.

    Thanks for the overview.
I've been considering add that hose to my dust collection system, mainly for the anti-static properties. It would be the hose that goes from the vac to the cyclone (dust deputy 2.5); from there I just swap hoses between the 27 and 36mm depending on the application.
You should look into getting a 3d printer for your shop. Bambu makes some amazing printers that are as close to plug and print as you can get.
3d printing would assist in solving a lot of common issues around the shop, like hose adapters.
That back wall full of festool boxes is begging to have a sysport built. ;-)

      No problem.
I will probably get a 3d printer at some point. They appear to be quite useful.
I agree. Just trying to settle in on a design.

If you're using the Festool cyclone unit, the hose ports on it are somewhat of a bottleneck and mitigate the suction with the larger hoses. I got one of the hoses and returned it as I felt the difference wasn't tangible enough to justify the price. I had my CT 26 connected to the cyclone connected to my 12" Grizzly jointer via the Festool 50mm hose and it did worse than my cheap Ridgid setup. So moving forward, I'm going to add a separator and hepa filters to my Ridgid. The D36 hose probably does the best in my shop.

@@daddysharespace so have you compared the suction of D36 and D50 hoses when going through the cyclone?

    • @daddysharespace
      @daddysharespace  6 месяцев назад

No I did not compare them as of yet.

I was surprised to see that the 50mm is not braided.

I didn't realize the off the shelf components from Home Depot fit the hose. Is the Festool more flexible than the Ridgid hose? I found when using the Ridgid/Craftsman the lack of flexibility was a problem sometimes. When working with epoxy shavings from my planer I noticed the Festool hose was noticeably cleaner than the Craftsman hose. I wonder if it was due to anti-static and if the Festool 50 mm would be comparatively just as clean as the 27 mm Festool I was using.

The 50 MM hose is a lot stiffer than the Ridgid hose. It does not feel as though it is in the same family as the rest of the Festool hoses to be honest.

Won't you get better suction with a smaller hose ?

    • @daddysharespace

The smaller hose will not be as effective with my benchtop jointer and planer. That is why I purchased the larger hose. I am not ready to commit to a dedicated dust extraction system as it will require 220 volt in my shop.

Unboxing??? For a shop vacume hose??

That hose is a beast, I use it with my table saw, router table and planer.
