Thank you for all of the good info, and on the accessories, too. My older camcorder just broke, and been researching a couple of Panasonic models. An external mic is crucial for me. The online specs say this model isn't tripod compatible; but when you flipped yours upside down, I saw the screw-in hole for it. Yay! I hope the low-lighting image quality is a good as it states.
You know what I do about the battery? I use the charging cable to connect to a small power bank (10,000 mAh) that you can put into a front pocket of your shirt or jacket. If required, the cable is long enough to move the camera a few feet from you. Using a power bank, you'll get four to five hours of shooting time.
I’m considering buying the battery pack that you show in the video however, this model HCV785 isn't listed there are you sure it’s the correct battery?
Can you please help me? I just bought the v785 & I have never fooled with a camcorder before. I have been fooling around with it & I'm doing ok but one thing I cannot seem to get figured out. I am trying to record a video but when I hit record again for pause it shows pause on screen. And then I hit record again to un-pause it & continue to record. But when I upload my video to computer or watch it on playback from video recorder it is in different block recordings? Instead of actually pausing my video recording & taking back-up to record more in same video its separating video into different videos. How can I record & actually pause so to make one video that I can later edit. Thanks in advance.
I am from Nigeria and I bought this camera,I want to know how I can check if mine is PAL or NTSC. The video footage is horrible, I need to do plenty of color tweaking before I can use the video. Pls I need your help.
The audio of the camera alone is pretty muffled. However, the audio quality greatly improves with an external mic that would have to be bought separately. The mic shown in the video is a really good one.
On this particular camera there is a hole with a little flap door in the back that you stick the thing that the mic clips into inside of the camera. Think it's called the shoe? You can reference my video to see what I'm talking about. I forgot to explain it in the video. Thanks for commenting!
Is the scroll wheel smooth in both directions? Just got mine and it’s only smooth scrolling down. When I scroll up, there’s a clicking noise and a bit or resistance.
Just ran across this vid, and your previous one - very helpful! I'm eyeing the V785 for a particular purpose: Live Streaming with a Green Screen. Do you, or anyone else know how well this cam does with keying green screen backgrounds? In addition, I would need to be able to record internally on the cam while at the same time utilizing a clean hdmi out. So the cam will record at HD, and both the hdmi out monitor will be clean (for the stream), and the LCD will also stay on. I've read where a good amount of camcorders do not allow recording, or the lcd screen staying on while the hdmi out monitor is active.
Thanks for the comment! I'm not sure on the capabilities with live streams or green screens. I have linked the user manual for the HC-V785 for you to check out. Sorry I can't help you further. www.bhphotovideo.com › ...PDF HC-V785
You will need to go to (Menu, Setup, Clock Set) to be able to set time and date. That will leave a stamp on each video displaying when it was shot. Hope this helps, and thank you so much for watching!
I'm not sure on whether or not you could connect a power bank to this camera. I myself have never tried it, but there are different connection ports that I haven't used yet. So maybe???
usefull video, just bought 1 Ill get in 3 dayes. Yes its not 4k and the sound is not the best, I dont need 4k just HD and will need a mike. but its so small and handy. and cheap for what you get. Im sure I will like it.
Im not looking for a cam to do live streams. Im looking for a cam for good outdoor video for close ups for moon shots or chemtrails. This camera is in my price range and its either this or a sony.
Honestly this camera does a decent job at times, depending on the subject. This camera wouldn't be considered professional grade, but it is a nifty little camcorder to say the least.

Oh cool!
@user-cq4hq7sc3l, here's your answer. Apparently you can connect a power bank to this camera.
it won't charge, but will use power from the power bank instead of from the battery.@longbeachobserver5390
Thanks man you just cleared my doubt
Can't wait to try it out. I bought it to replace the Sony 405 which was horrible.
appreciate the good overview... new sub!

Does it not require a powered microphone -with it's own battery power?

Does the field of view crop in when you press the record button?
How is the audio quality of it? Looking to use it to record my gigs. Was hoping I could plug it into a DI or mixer.

Thank you for the video.
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video.
how did you mount your external mic?

Tienes que comprar una capturadora de vídeo USB a conversión HDMI con esto grabas en vivo en cualquier cámara
Great info, how do you set camera to view date and time stamp in playback mode?

Hello. Does this camera do clean HDMI output?
I believe so. I know that the camera has a HDMI port but I have never tried it out to see how crisp the connection is.
@@BenSeger1998 They mean clean as in, no text or gui elements on top of the HDMI video output
My only complaint is it has no ISO adjustment.
Can you use a power bank during video recording on this camera? Instead to buy an extra battery?

use the charging cable. @@BenSeger1998
