  • This was the anthem of the Qing Dynasty only for a short time, from 1911 to 1912. This is my first Anthem Video, so tell me what you think. Like and subscribe for more anthems. Here is some history of the song.
The song was composed by Bo Tong (溥侗), a high-ranking officer of the Imperial Guard. The lyrics, in Classical Chinese, were penned by Yan Fu, commander of the Qing Navy. Guo Cengxin (郭曾炘), Master of Ceremonies, made some minor adjustments and arranged the music. Gong Jin'ou was adopted by the Qing government on the 13th Day and 8th Month of the 3rd Year of the Xuantong Emperor's reign (October 4, 1911). However, only six days later was the Wuchang Uprising, which effectively led to the end of the Qing Dynasty with the declaration of the Republic of China on January 1, 1912 and the abdication of the emperor on February 12, 1912. As a result, the anthem never gained any notability. Since it praises the Qing dynasty specifically, it is also a Royal anthem.

Isaac Z No I’m gonna somehow secretly send a message to the Hong Kong people saying I’m overthrowing China so they can pay for the tickets then I can see my chair ( And I might accidentally purposely overthrow the communists in China and make it monarchist again.

Fun fact, the lyrics has NOTHING TO DO with the Qing dynasty. It's about a famous taiwanese cultural and activist leader in japanese colonial era Chiang Wei Shui. This is only the First Part of the symphony.
First sentence, she is saying the city he was born in Yilan,
    (2:58) 宜蘭城邊小街市
In the Second sentence she is describing that city, ("The wind is clear and the moon is bright"),
    (3:25) 風清月明好安居
In the Third sentence, she said that Chiang Wei Shui was born. (BTW he was born in 1891).
    (3:35) 渭水先生初出世
In Fourth sentence she says "At sunrise, thw dragon is sinking. The flag is changing" meaning that Qing was ceded Taiwan to Japan (that happened in 1895) . That's why you can hear a fragment of the Japanese national anthem in end of the overture.
