From time to time I get gifts sent to me often with out any warning
My RUclips contract says that they could be deemed as payed promotions
Due to the nature of me doing vids daily mostly in a hurry
I feel it’s best so not to fall foul of contract so I will now just add the hash tag #paidpromotion to all my vids This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated
#yourharvest
Blimey Hannah’s changed a bit in the last 24 hours !!
That’s great Ian, looking forward to getting my hoodie as and when you can get it out 😀
We used to have straw spreaders like that in the 80s to help get a better burn 😂
A Distillery instead of a swimming pool, with the RUclips videos your halfway there with the marketing, Gin for cashflow, whiskey for the capital appreciation, very steep learning curve but it'd be an awesome journey, farm to glass?
Now there’s a thought!! Great diversification! Couldn’t agree more 👍and l am not even a drinker!!
Interesting video, I have seen the trial plot combines near Toddington, near Cheltenham working in the past 👌
i had no idea how grass seed was done am impressed with that setup :)
Re rape knife, we used to have one but saw a neighbour just using the crop divider with no more losses than a knife so we did the same😊
Olly. You are coming up to Turriff show. Come and have a Morley’s Coffee opposite the sheep. Our farming diversification 👍👍 James
That tiny combine was like honey i shrunk the combine! 🤣🤣
Those were some very interesting combines, regardless of size!! The grass seed was so low to pick the grass seed up, the header couldn't get any lower as it would have dug in! that was fun, thanks Olly. 50% today, not bad enough to be bad, but nearly.
I think you would get sea sick in the little yellow combine. All caught up on videos now. Only about 40% and that's generous. Was hoping the little fella be out of hospital for his birthday tomorrow but it's not to be. A bug reared it's head again so he will be in for a week more. Its been a rough year so far for him. Thanks for the great videos as always
In NZ we mow grass seed during the night, to not knock off the seed head. Leave in rows for a week and then combine.
Number 10 and 11 just arrived today, cheers guys! 😀
very interesting video. one of them ''small combines'' would be alright for you this year to cut out your ripe bits and leave the green bits...........always heard corn farmers say combines hate it when there's grass in the corn
Herbage or grass seed is encouraged to go flat with the amount of nitrogen applied to stop the seeds falling out if its windy just before harvesting it. I have combined hundreds of acres of grass seed, it can be a nightmare the trick is to get the reel speed set right for the forward speed, always goes better on a nice sunny hot day. Often have to cut it one direction.
I used to have to poke the grass seed out of the the tank with a long aluminium tube taking care not to catch the auger in the bottom of the tank.
We used to combine grass seed, flippin nightmare. The drum used to bark when a big wad got pulled in. Slipped in the grain tank whilst poking it with a stick, lucky not to lose my foot.
Ian the merch guy keeps the wheels rolling 👍🏻🏴🚜
That was one excellent blog Olly, interesting seeing the little combine cutting the trail OSR. Also I’ve never seen grass seed being harvested, amazing!! Ian back on bumper duties absolutely cracks me up! 🤣😂🙃- he’s a great fellow! 😊👍🚜
A very interesting video Olly, just right for Grandson Toby's 5th birthday, thanks Ian. Thank you and take care. 85%
Wait. Is that my mate Phil Gorange?! Nice!
The white van racing about has Evenflow written all over it
Interesting to see the combines harvesting the grass seed. Nice video. 90%
Great video Olly very interesting to see them cutting grass for seed
Reminds me of cutting with our trailed Dania. Nice to see Martin’s. Following him on TikTok.
Only 90% today since I had blood pressure issues during dialysis and leaked droplets all over the end of the ward from the kitchen to reception when trying to leave. That said the nurse who retired on Monday was back to do a shift today so it took a bit of thinking to decide how I felt.
Weather a getting worse sort of a day since it rained in the afternoon.
10 yellow cars and 2 orange. Also 2 John Deeres.
The spinners on the back of the 6600 fluff and bash the remaining straw out not only to un-clump it but also to knock the remaining husks carried out on the straw walkers loose so you don't collect them up with the straw. These have been used on combine harvesters almost since the start of the SP combined harvester's existence when people use the cut for animal feed. You don't see these on machines that use choppers at all because they aren't needed then but the bales bale better with a little twirl in the dump and those will also work weaves out if they form as well. Choppers on SP's tend to also blow the last of the remaining stalked husks off as well. Fun is that in Germany in the 1950's and a little onward they actually had blower collectors that loaded wagons with the husks and super-fine dust for other uses like glue filler, plaster filler bulking in grain milling and so-on. What happens after the threshing is occasionally more interesting than the entire process leading to it.
In this case is also spreads the heads that weren't threshed so you're effectively evening out the over-seeding that occurs in the collection process as well. The rest of the combine can be replaced by a knife, bucket and a stone... those little spinners replace a LOT of labor.
That's a Rekord Straw Chopper. 35 odd years ago each May would to go to the Sampo-Rosenlew factory in Finland and spend 4 weeks there fitting about 20 Rekord Straw Choppers on to the trials combines before they were shipped out.
Sampo Rosenlew made in Finland.
Really good combine, well the big ones are.
They also paint them red and call them Massey Fergusson, but they are still Sampo Rosenlew.
Except for the Ideal, those are Fendts and they don't even bother to paint them red.
On the older Masseys, once the Red color wears out, the Yellow Sampo color shows up.
Don't forget John deere W330 and W440 are basicly the same as Sampo Rosenlew Comia 8/10/12.
A very interesting video, have a great weekend.
Massey Ferguson used the Sampo Rosenlew combine to sell as the MF 8 plot combine in the early 1990. It used the Perkins Prima engine as well. Its the same engine as used in the diesel versions of the Austin Maestro and Montego cars. Direct cut grass really gives the internals of a combine a hammering. They use a plain section knife rather then serrated sections.
A interesting video Olly, nice to see Martin again. 60% Today
Good video 👍 96% 3 different sizes of combines
👀🙄🐾👍 Nice to see and hear Ian
Funny just recently saw a US video harvesting grass seed, but with a 50 header on an X9 - going just as slow.
Great video Olly that’s a good excuse to go on the p-ss looking at barley growing 😁👍👍
Hannah looks a lot different 😂 great video
Some use a Shelbourne stripper header for combine grass seed then mow it after, usually have a plain knife for cutting grass seed,Grass sed was around £1200/t with half ton to the acre, have to be patient combing the crop
If Mr. Bean were a farmer, he would have driven such a combine. 😂
I love it though, looks funny!
Here in Denmark there are alot of Grass fields for seeds and it's can be a pain to harvest
im aruond 91% today
Wow that first combine cutting grass sounded to be getting some hammer, bet knife drives don’t last long. Don’t know why I always thought the grass was swathed for a couple of weeks before combining
We do in Australia. Swathed at 50% then go through with a pickup head once it's below 18% (If there is immediate access to a. dryer) or
Lima grain in Lincolnshire have around eight of these.
Hi Olly Nice one Thanks again
I drove a mac don in oz with a double knife drive it could do 25k in the right conditions! 👍👍
Grass was the worst crop ever to combine, nightmare.
I assume the 230k is in the very limited production run - like a small bespoke motor company like Morgan.
Hanna has changed , her voice has got deeper lol
Hi Olly great video it was very interesting I think that the small combine could tip over easily as it looks top heavy. 😀😀😎😎30%
Like Martin!
Found out Lammas is not Pagan as i thought but Christian.,,,,,,,, Lammas, also known as Loaf Mass Day, is a Christian holiday celebrated in some English-speaking countries in the Northern Hemisphere on 1 August. The name originates from the word "loaf" in reference to bread and "Mass" in reference to the Eucharist Great video, 97% today as it is my birthday on sunday
Happy birthday for Sunday 👍
The cost is the small combine might be from most of the parts being custom built in low volumes
Great video👍
great stuff difrent
Top man Ian!
hannahs voice has changed😁😁😁
Good video nice 😊😊😊😊😊😊
Good evening olly

Hi Olly why can Morgan not cut his hair like Ian
Hi great video 75 %,

How much do you get for grass seed for selling it
Hannah has let herself go 😢
Do you have a new merlo yet 😃
How come it wasn’t cut before the combine?
The grass seed?
Nice
Sausage mouth on the birthdays.
how much he seen them coming
If that small combine is a good boy and eats all it's food then someday it will grow up to be a big combine....
