      Michael was always a humble guy too, never felt good enough, his voice, dancing, looks ( his Dad used to beat him to a point that when little Michael saw his Dad approach, he’d be sick😞 but his Dad also planted the idea that Michael was ugly, called him names, hence the unnecessary surgeries, it’s heartbreaking 😢

    What a fun song. I’ve never heard it!! What a surprise! I thought I had heard all of Freddie’s works!!!
    I don’t know about Michael, but Freddie was very humble. Elton John said it an interview after Freddie died that he use to ask him after a concert if he thought he did ok!!!!! Elton would say “ok”?, man you were amazing as usual. Elton said he actually didn’t think he did that well. I do think Freddie realized his stature because he commented to Elton one day that some days he wish he could wake up and not be Freddie Mercury so he could just go to a store.
    There’s a song called Made in Heaven that Freddie wrote and a line is Made in Heaven that’s what they say to me- referring to people telling him his voice was made in Heaven. The lyrics are great about him just doing what he’s suppose to etc. great song if you want to check it out.

      I love this, and Michael was also humble, he never felt good enough, following years of physical abuse from his Dad, also emotional abuse as he kept calling him ugly, hence the many, unnecessary surgeries 😢
      They were both beautiful, loving souls who would do anything for anyone.
      I know once Freddie got annoyed with Michael because he kept bringing his lama Into the recording srudio😂

    Freddie and Michael spent some time in the studio, but I think this is all that became of it, because Freddie couldn't deal with Michael's insistence on having his LLAMA in the studio.

    It's a Michael Jackson composition, and he already had everything ready, the only thing missing was the other voice, which Freddie provided. But they didn't find time to finish the song, so Michael asked Mick Jagger for the second vocals, and this version with Freddie has never been released. So yes, it's rare. You could listen to the official version with Mick Jagger to compare.
    it's not my favourite song, but I love Freddie's shrieks.

    Whenever I see "Rare" on YT now I always assume it's clickbait!! It's interesting what you were saying about whether they knew how good and important they were to music. Maybe they really didn't because both were genuinely really shy and humble guys - or perhaps they weren't ever satisfied with what they'd achieved which is what drove them to be - in their minds - even better? So as far as I remember, this song was eventually released with Mick Jagger doing Freddie's parts. No official reason was given for Freddie being replaced, but I've heard Jim (Miami) Beach saying in a documentary that Freddie called him from the studio and asked him to get him out of there because Michael had his Llama with him. I vaguely remember Freddie saying he was supposed to have been on the Thriller album too but he "missed out" - I'm guessing because he refused to work with the Llama.

    • @HAP3SPEAKZ
      @HAP3SPEAKZ  4 года назад +4

      Thanks for your comment. Fair point and yes I also question that too as I stated. Is it really rare...
      Good insight 👏 what a shame that Freddie was not on the thriller album. Seriously? Wow. I'm surprised he turned his back on it so to speak. If only... 🤔

      Annie Mars ruclips.net/video/De0asrU1kJw/видео.html it was this Interview, where Freddie talked about Michael Jackson. Yes he said he could have been on Thriller. But on the other hand, his recording sessions with Michael happened to be in 1983 and Thriller already came out in 1982.
      But he might have been on the Jacksons‘ Victory album from 1984.
      I really think the schedule problems were the reason because Freddie left NY, where he had a flat in about 1983 for Munich, Queen also stopped touring in the US after „I want to break free“ in 1984. So he rarely ever was in the US anymore.

    6:54 I think you mean Beat it. 8:58 yea Freddie should originally even be in the Thriller album... just imagine. 16:51 that was Michael of course. Great stuff you talked about, great reaction. At the end you said that you ask yourself if Freddie and Michael knew how legendary and good they were in music. Well I have to say I don't know. Michael was always called _''The King of Pop''_ but He himself NEVER called himself that. And to Freddie I really think he knows he's great but what makes me sad is that he said he wasn't good on piano which is a Huge lie. He is one of the greatest Pianists I have ever seen.
