I liked this. A calmly told story about own experiences without unnecessary drama, told by a lovely lady. Subscribed and although i'm a year late, a warm welcome to Finland 🙂
I remember you mentioned in some earlier video how you enjoy nature. Nordic seasons, including winter and even the darkest part of the autumn winter, give different experiences of nature. Wild nature is not always just easy. It's not easy entertainment for humans. It has harsh and challenging aspects too. But it is in its own ways spectacular, interesting and can give you perhaps even more than easy green summers. It challenges you, doesn't try to please you all the time. It's more wild, more strict, more pure in it's struggle for survival.
I would recommend trying to pick some winter activities in your weekly routine, if possible. Nordic, or cross country, skiing, ice skating... It could help to learn to manage dressing for the weather and different activities, so that cold wouldn't be a problem, just something to take in consideration while choosing what to wear. It could give you energy and strength to overcome other challenges. It could help to find friends and give opportunities to practice your Finnish skills. But whatever you do, stay active throughout Autumn and Winter, and don't limit yourself indoors.
You don't seem to be aware of the ways that the warming climate is hurting Nordic nature and making more extreme weather more likely. This includes more storms, more wet periods, more snow and difficult winter in general. Winter flooding and less water in deep ground water reservoirs are already hurting some regions in Finland. Agriculture, forestry etc. all feel some effects already. Coldness isn't really a big challenge. Wet icy weather is much more difficult.
Please is it easy to get job as a student in the first year of study, I heard there are more jobs in Helsinki that other cities. I applied to a nursing program in autumn , but not in Helsinki. Is it easy to get students jobs in other cities? Thanks!
