This is Japan! A place we have been desperate to travel since we can remember, and finally, we've made it! We flew 14 hours from London to Tokyo before taking a famous bullet train south west to Osaka, the food capital of Japan. This city is famous for its street food, especially in the Dotonburi area of Osaka. We are travelling the country for the next 3 weeks with G Adventures, starting in Osaka and hitting everywhere from Hiroshima to Kyoto, Tokyo to Mount Fuji. Welcome to Japan! 🇯🇵

I was in Japan for 17 days traveling alone. I was in Kyoto and Tokyo. I was blown away how modern Japan is, yet so different to everything in Europe. I felt like I was Alice in Wanderland. The sounds, the food the people, so different. Everyone bowing. 😂❤

So looking forward to this series. I have been blessed to have spent time in Japan. Tokyo is an amazing city. I spent most of my time in the north of the country. I was shocked that vending machines are everywhere. The parking garages were another surprise - they are like a puzzle game. Have a great time.
I would eat ramen "morning, noon and night"😀 Its sooooo good. I've never been to Japan but my experience is they are beautiful, respectful humans. Safe travels.🧳🧳

Takoyaki is one of my favorites. We purchased a plate that you can make them at home. It is a good investment. It came with two other plates that we have used to make Korean BBQ and yakisoba. Enjoy Japan.

One of my favourite places in the world. Lucky enough to have visited Japan twice now. Planning to go back early next year, I hope.
If I could live off one food, Ramen would be it. I think it looked like a Tonkatsu Ramen, my fav. I've tried and tried multiple times to recreate it at home, it's just never the same! The best Ramen I've ever had is in Japan and curiously Peru.
One day I'll manage to do it right at home, it's a life challenge for me now, I hope you guys loved it there, somehow I know you did.
We loved our time in Osaka . We loved the Giant Crab. And what can you say about the food? If only we could get smell-o-vision. Harriet and I have always been daring with our food choices.

Welcome to japan hope your get out of the cities and visit the smaller towns and countryside as its much nice. Im down in Okinawa and there are lots of small islands you should explore.
And if you want to visit a really obscure island try and make it out to Aogashima

Incredibly beautiful country! City scenes did look like a shot of a video game (sim city?) When Julia said lets go get some 'real food', i just knew we were going to see a western fast food joint ( sorry no free advertising from me). Hello Matt and Julia. What you were eating in the beginning is not ramen.......it is udon.....a different kind of noodle. And a bit better in my opinion. I am glad you enjoyed our food. There is so much for you to try there; and there are regional plates as well. Kyoto is not like Musashi (Tokyo area); Oshu (Aomori) is again different. Of course nowadays Japanese food has utterly changed and also we can get the food of one area in a different area. And there is great Italian, Russian, Greek, Peruvian and so much more restaurants there as well. Enjoy and cheers!!

If your still there you might want to check Mc Donalds to see if they still have any of their adult / less sweet deserts, I've heard good things about them. Enjoy your stay.

If you come across a chain of restaurants called "Kura Sushi" give them a go. I tried several in Kyushu. The food is cheap Y100 plus tax (or it was) and excellent. I liked playing the vide game on the tablet that you use to order as well. Enjoy your journey across the country.
