The Ed Sullivan Show was the Golden Ticket to launching a awesome career . TV was RUclips of the 50's and 60's. Everybody who had TV's were the people who'd be buying tickets at concerts and record sales .
All performers dressed up for their performances. Suits, ties, dresses, skirts. Wilson Picket ( Tom Jones idol), Bobby Darin, Buddy Holly, Otis Redding, Bobby Vinton, Bobby Rydel, Connie Francis, Leslie Gore, Dusty Springfield . Should check them out.
When Elvis Presley returned home to Memphis for Christmas, 1956, when he was at Sun Records Studio for “The Million Dollar Quartet” recording sessions, he told a story about seeing Jackie Wilson perform in concert as a member of Billy Ward’s Dominoes (but he did not yet know his name at the time). Presley stated that Wilson could sing “Don’t Be Cruel” better than he could. He had seen him perform the song at several concerts, and that Wilson brought down the house every single time.
You know how Elvis was talking in that recording about the funny way Jackie sang the word “telephone”? I cracked up when I saw the video of Elvis singing that song on Ed Sullivan. He pronounced it just the way he said Jackie had been! If Jackie was watching that night, I bet he fell out of his chair when Elvis did that.
The Ed Sullivan show was how we saw alot of musicians... They knew they made it, if they got on the show.. most music came from radio, and records There is not alot of the same romance in songs now.. true that! The attitude is different now towards relationships Verbrato ❤ Thanks again ✌️🏵️💞
If you love Wilson, check out Johnny Mathis. They say when his songs were on the air, on a weekend night, the pregnancy rate would go up! Total romance! Wow. I have a number of his albums.
Easily the greatest R&B/Pop/R&R singer of his era and one of the greatest singers of any era. He was certainly the most versatile. Next try him doing "Danny Boy" then his live version of "She's Alright (With Me)". Also give a listen to another of his great ballads, the live version of "Night". Jackie was indeed, incomparable...and yes, Jackie was the first.
Ed sullivan show came on every sunday night. It was the Beatles 1st USA tv performance. Between Mr Sullivan and the Steve Allen Show, so many musicians made their tv 1st appearance. Both shows are widely covered on the internet. Worth the search.
Ed Sullivan was a variety show that we watched way before MTV. the Beatles, the rolling stones, the doors and Elvis presley were all on this show. Also Jackie Wilson was huge but not many people know who he was now.
To those who complain about you pausing too much, I think they should just leave and go watch it on their own instead of complaining to you about it, it's your channel, stop as often as you want to! It's a reaction channel folks! Bow tie is what you were trying to think of! Vibrato is also what you were thinking of! ❤❤❤❤❣❣❣♥♥♥♥♥
My favorite performance of his was "Lonely Teardrops."

Michael Jackson credited Jackie Wilson for the inspiration behind some of his moves.
The Best interaction with camera is Sam Cooke live sleep I love you for sentimental reasons
Michael Jackson took his moves from Jackie Wilson for sure, but not shown in this video clip...
If you want your mind blown, listen to Dutch band Focus. ‘House of the King’ is good.
I walked down the aisle 1974, to ‘Sylvia’.
I only know Reet Petite because it was remixed back in the nineties (or late eighties)
Have you listened to Jackie's version of For Your Precious Love?
Steve Allen Show
Try Nat King Cole, I think you would enjoy him too.
Bro please reaction Queen - Liar ( Live at the rainbow 1974)😅😅😅😅😂😢😢
