    Keith, traditional sand casting requires that taper, known as draft, on the pattern. Without draft, removing patterns from the sand would lead to destruction of the impression details. There is a nice, new fangled, product called "Durabar" that is manufactured without draft. Durabar can be a useful starting material for machined cast iron parts.

    I wondered if when buying parts for this you had in mind another build, l have a bsa bantam and when ordering parts have the spare frame and wheels lurking in my hallway in mind!

    Great video as always, regarding, the valve fork holes, they seem in line with the rod, so would not a reshape of the fork outer edges save you work & sort out the aesthetics?

      I could do, but I do want to show how to make Valve Forks as part of the series.
