I've owned the dark side for almost 4 years and still enjoy wearing it when I'm rotating my time pieces. It is not for everyone however the high level of materials and movement make it a piece warranting a conversation. I once owned this and the Apollo 8. Sold them both because it looked too big. Now after watching this video, I have some regrets selling them, and will start hunting again.....
Got the Pitch Black variant because the lume lights everything up in the dark - the hands, indices, tachymeter scale, crown, and even the Omega logo itself!
Ive owned a few Speedmasters and sold them all. Personally think it’s one of the most overrated watches on the market. Chrono is useless in the computer age. omega, which I LOVE, are becoming the masters of variations on a theme
Black watches are not for everyone. But this is so special that the name matches Pink Floyd’s favorited album. I owns speedmaster professional and glad to have this as well. It’s so modern in appearance and the movement is a work of art. If Omega can build one both smaller in diameter and thickness it will be perfect.
When I got my Seamaster, I got to see this one to be honest for the price I wouldn’t buy it, it’s one of those watches you need to see in the boutique. I think the speed master 57 is better. Hopefully I can own a green dial 57 one day.

Looks btfl, but contrary to Rolex, the market is flooded by so many versions…in addition to exploding supply, they bumped up the price in a way that is not commensurate to me.
That's most watches the last year or too. Even Daytona's are down a lot on the secondary market. I picked up a mint condition 8-month-old "Grey Side of the Moon" version of this watch recently for $7700, and it's truly stunning - especially for the price of a much more basic new gen Speedmaster Professional moon watch.
I always see folks afraid to break those ceramic watches. For the record I would never drop a 10k watch and anyone who does should expect catastrophe even in a steel case.
Brittle is a strong word. I don’t think it would shatter if dropped on tile from a short height. Maybe teddy should start doing drop tests for the views??

Benefit of the chronograph hours/minutes on the same sub-dial is I use it to track GMT time.

As an owner of the Apollo 8 i absolutely love the DSOTM line. And i dont baby mine and havent had any issues with wearing a ceramic watch as a daily
I had no idea these were 16mm+ thick! That really surprised me.
Its not a moonwatch, it closer to the planet ocean in size

Rolex produces 1.5 million pieces a year. They out produce all Swiss watch houses on pieces per year . There is no shortage, it’s all marketing.

Frankly water resistance of just 50m stinks for that much money and that much hype. Shame.

It's a brittle easily shattered case which makes no sense whatsoever. Ridiculous.

It’s a superb watch. Was initially put off by the case dimensions but it wears much smaller than say a 42mm Rolex EXP2.
