Nice to of you to show the permanent fix, not the just the temporary work around with the toggle switch. The Prostar I drove from new to about 700,000 had the compressor lock up one day. Other than that it worked well for 6 years.
They can also b converted to freeze probes if that's ur problem some it the accuaters that turn ur air up on dash or in vents and the fresh air one too but the conversation to freeze probes can last a little longer the body controler sences a lot of things???👈
I have a 2014 Prostar+ with the MaxForce motor and I was having that issue as well. My fuses are set up a little different. But of course I went to a shop had work done I didn’t need done, so when I seen a couple videos I start to play around with my fuses. What I found in my fuse set up is F4-M is body control, F4-L is Cluster/ Cab Hvac Controller. The two being online together is causing the F4-L to trip out. So I pulled the Body Control fuse and ran my AC it never shut off. But I had lost controls for air dump, PDL lock Engine Brake etc. So I discovered a. I can have an electrician move the body control to a new location or what I did was up the 10amp on the F4-L Cluster/ Cab HVAC Controller to a regular 20amp without the breaker and I never had an issue since. I was going to build a switch like this video, but discovered a different solution. I hope this helps my fellow Prostar+ owners.
I have a 2019 prostar and while I'm driving sometimes the AC goes out and I feel hot air and then the AC comes back on...Drives me crazy... what you did, will this help my situation?
Im experience this now I have a 2012 maxxforce international 4300...my A/C is blowing hot air and I have no leaks, no codes and been wasting money on parts and issue still exist
Hey thanks for the info i have the same year 2014 prostar but with a cummins isx. I replaced F4-L and F4-M with regular smart glow mini fuses and now ac blowing ice cold and J brakes, windshield wipers, and etc now work. Glad I didn't waste money throwing parts at it. Was about to order an ac compressor glad I played with the fuses first. Hope everyone have a bless day. Keep trucking
I ride on a international 7400, this morning the engine light came on and it had just been serviced for the A C yesterday. Why did the light come on, when the engine has been running fine
It's not the switches under the hood the problem is the body controllers in all prostars are shit i changed everything only to find this out. Instead of turning truck off i pull fuse out and put back in and when the seat belt light goes off ac works for another 15 mins iinternational really should b responsible for this
Hey Dmitry,. I recently took my heater A/C out from underneath my bunk. Is there a way to plug or cut off the freon A/C lines so it won't spray out the hose?
Hey guy's i have 2014 n13 prostar with the navistar engine, I have a low voltage code on my throttle control valve can someone give a idea of where to start looking because i have done everything and no luck .
Hmmm, not really, i have replaced those thermistors( with connector plug) expansion valve, a/c dryer. And this truck still cuts the power to the compressor after a few minutes, I’ve replaced the module on the a pillar got it programmed to the truck specs, and still acting up.. ima try to do the toggle switch now. To reset the module.
After a while my AC compressor continued to shut off, so I went to a dealer in California, there it was discovered that the signal was being lost from the body control to the compressor. The tech did an overlay of new wires and ever since I never had a problem. It cost about $1200.00 but well worth the money. The 2014’s do not have thermistors they have switches. I had a short in wiring.
I got that problem with mine its a 2015. Its chronic. I have had nothing but problems with the a/c all the time. I been driveing this piece of crap since 2018 and it has had 6 compressors and 7 high pressure hoses replaced. Plus electrical issues. This is just the a/c. I have all kinds of problems with the dpf system the air system just blew 3 bags because of a bad leveling valve, which has been replaced 3 times since I been driveing it. Worst truck I ever driven
@@jasonduke3608 man I been have all ac problems with mine and it’s a 2016.. new compressors new condenser new lines new every and still having problems 🤦🏾♂️

Sweating my ass off another night trying to figure out why my prostar AC won’t work. I’m having the same issues on this 2019 that I had on my 2017. I miss my freightliner so much

I saw you had duct tape on the hood support brackets. Did that help with the hood slamming on bumps??
Дмитрий, здравствуйте. Вы случайно не помните сколько ом эти термистеры должны быть? Я их давно менял, но уже не помню. Спасибо!

Check your high pressure switch on the a/c line. If not detecting required pressure, a/c will work intermediate. On / off
