I like launch coasters so I'm not against what they are doing , but they de6need to spread their line up out some give a better variety. But I cant say anything bad about any coaster they have built yet

I can’t even blame BGW fans if they’re disappointed, it’s very likely that they won’t end up getting a normal full circuit giga coaster now, and even if they do it would happen in like 2032 or something. It’s gonna be awhile until they get another major roller coaster, but none the less this will be an insane roller coaster
they should get an S&S like Steel Curtain for it so it could manage the layout, be similiar to it, be fufilling in two different ways. And either wait on the giga or just don't just this "oversized impulse coaster" concept is horrible, "intamin is always being innovative" this belongs next to zacpsins and will probably end up like it.

They should have the hole train backwards except for the front seats, that way everybody is facing down at the spike except for the 2 seats at the very top. Facing back would be a way better experience.
Only one of their major coasters since the 2010's wasn't a launch coaster, that being InvaDr, this is just a massive waste of money and land when the park doesn't need another launch coaster. The 2020's is already turning out to be a horrible decade for coasters.

Seriously can Vekoma make a one of their new major thrill coaster here, hell if it was a launch coaster I'd be okay with it even if BGW doesn't need another launch coaster. Plus IMO Vekoma has been doing a better job than Intamin as of late, Phantheon I find to be a pretty bad ride because the layout is just unimpressive and they don't need a third launch coaster (unless Verbolten finally got the axe for an actual terrain coaster, not some glorified box coaster), that and they killed Intamin with their hyper concept for Energylandia. Oh and we can't overlook F.L.Y. or Abyssus either, both rides look leagues better than this trash or Pantheon.

I think they're going for the large adrenaline type attractions so they have something like Dragster but this just is so different than what we've seen before and knowing BGW they'll kill it with the theming there could be so much more
I don’t know what I think of this either . I do love launch coasters and home park magic mountain has 2 of them. I prefer full throttle over wc racer. But a lot of launch coasters just feel incomplete to me. I think this would fit that mold. I get it these coasters do a lot with a little space and are no sprawling coasters. I mean in all honesty all I want in a launch coaster is a revamp/redo of Batman and robin the chiller by premier. That was my fav coaster in my old home park and I miss it dearly. The backward launch with the spikes on each side ...ehh looks kind of like a fancy waterless Mac power splash. I’m sure it will be fun and I love Busch garden getting new back to back rides! Hell I love seaworld spending like drunken sailors ! Six flags take note !!
Honestly, Six Flags Great Adventure needs a more intense west coast racers, and since they are putting jersey devil in an odd place (with the theme, why isn't it over by el toro?), then it should be designed to fit over and around in the open area where rolling thunder used to be. Restore those dueling elements but it can be a complete circuit but with the extra launch like full throttle. I hate this busch gardens williamsburg redundant garbage installment more than I hate six flags ditching an iconic eye candy arrow mega looper for a stupid B&M stand up in a park that already has/had a floorless, flyer, invert, and hyper as it was.
When I heard you say Project Madrid I was reminded of how I desperately wanted and still hope this new ride would be put into a new Spain area. That is the one country I think this park needs based on how diverse it is from the other countries that each land in the park is themed to and I think they've got plenty of room behind Verbolten to build one. Also, if this park and SeaWorld Orlando and San Diego are getting new coasters for 2021 (at least that's the rumor), I say SeaWorld San Antonio should get one to. The Texas Splashdown space has been empty for almost a decade and I say now is the perfect time to put something there. Speaking of abandoned properties, I say they should put something in the place of Curse of the Dark Castle. I think the perfect addition in that space would be a dark shooter by Trio Tech or Sally Corp (similar to Justice League: Battle for Metropolis or Wonder Mountain's Guardian). Finally, I was a little disappointed to hear The Crypt at Kings Dominion was getting removed because of innovative that ride was with the surrounding theme (I wonder why those Top Spins are disappearing everywhere). I say a great replacement for that ride would be the same type of ride as Harley Quinn Spinsanity at Six Flags Over Texas and Cyborg Cyberspin at Six Flags Great Adventure. I just hope this doesn't mean that section of the land could be getting rethemed in the future. After all Safari Adventure (or whatever that land is called) is a Kings Dominion classic.

They have enough launch coasters now too: Pantheon easy #2, sky rocket II Tempesto, and the family-thrill Verbolten. Build a cool steel replacement for one lost and another for how cool using the terrain could truly be, not this "spire" bs.
At first, I hated it, but reading BGW’s article actually makes me excited. I never considered the possibilities beyond a standard spike on a giga, not to mention it being another launched coaster and a shuttle at that was underwhelming....can’t wait to see the theme. I really think that Busch Gardens is hammering down on their competition from Kings Dominion and trying to dominate the area. With KD removing Volcano and BGW opening two massive launch coasters back to back years, it looks like BGW will draw all the crowds in the coming decade. Also the launches are magnetic launches which don't have nearly as many technical issues as say, a hydraulic launch, and switch tracks aren't complicated to pull off so downtime shouldn't be an issue at all.

I was not sold on this concept at first. However after watching the POV my mind changed completely. I know that it is just a mock up and not going to be perfectly representative of the finished product, but I think that spiral spike is going to be incredible. Shooting well over three hundred feet in the air and plummeting back down is going to be so much fun. I have to wonder as well if there is a chance that BGW and Intamin could throw a game changer such as a hold brake at the peak. I am not sure if that could work with a spiral spike, but if it could it would be crazy. Regardless it’s a new coaster and while it definitely won’t please everyone, we should still be stoked about getting new coasters in back to back years at the most beautiful theme park in the world.
SEAS is building all these coasters on top of each other to build perceived asset value to sell the chain. It makes little sense economically & ROIC to do major coasters back to back. A successful coaster you can bank on a pop for about 3 years at least & than renewed residuals. SEAS is essentially stepping on itself with back to back coasters, They are going to 150M core Capex in the chain but back to back coasters at potentially several parks in the chain is not good for ROIC, but great for increasing asset value for a sale. Also, the fact SEAS is making massive efforts to cut operating cost by minimum of 50M points to cleaning up the balance sheet for a sale. They are outsourcing & cutting labor costs besides taking emphasis off animal exhibits that some potential buyers don't want to deal with any possible issues of animal treatment in the future.
At first, like anyone else, i thought... WTF, this is Deja Vu on SFNE all over again. BUT...... IFFFF the spiral spike is real, that is the wildcard and makes it unique. I would rather a new gen vekoma or something like time traveler instead

I see a bunch of people bashing this ride but I don’t think they’re thinking it through. This ride is going to be tall. So it has to launch fast and possibly very intensely. That twist would be something that you don’t see much in Virginia (or the east coast to be broader). The only thing I can think of that’s similar in this region is tempesto so it’s going to be a different experience. I do wish that this was included with pantheon. It would have been awesome to have a 350+ top hat but oh well. Anyways just because this looks kind of repetitive don’t forget the stats and that it’s still probably gonna be fun if it gets built
I wonder if they would remove tempesto and send it to another park after adding this. I don't know if the executives will see the need for it at BGW. I know it isn't the most loved ride at that park. I could see it possibly going to seaworld san antonio. (also with 3 coasters so close to each other in that part of the park it is going to screw with crowd flow a ton and make that part of the park a nightmare to be in)
@@Brandon-qd2lb Other parks have does this in the past, (ex six flags ride exchange program) those rides lasted like 4 year or so at each park then moved to another one in the chain. it is a cheap way of adding a new ride at another park to draw attendance. I don't think it is that crazy of a idea if you consider what seaworld is doing right now is similar to what six flags was doing at the turn of the millennium.
The backwards seats on DC Rivals makes for a crazy ride experience, completely different to the original experience of forward facing seats. So I’ll be all for it!!

Ik it's been 9 months but I think I actually knew this long before anyone else because when I was at BGW I was actually token out and the park employee told me that there was gonna be 2 coasters within a 2 year span. So I think I was the first non-employee to know about this. You don't have to believe me but I saw what I saw and that is what matters.
I literally cannot make heads or tails of this thing but either way looking forward to getting a new weird credit so we shall see! Keep up the great work, man!
I have longed to go to BGW since I was a kid always wanted to ride Big Bad Wolf. If we could get a S&S Axis there with Wolf Theming well let's just say my Sea World 4 park Florida Gold pass would automatically become Platinum at this point. I want to check out Texas Stingray too. Plus BGT and SWO are my home parks so Ice Breaker, Iron Gwazi and Project Penguin all with ride again privelages for $30/mo count me in.
What if these are the original plans for Pantheon? What if Intamin wanted to make it up to BGW, because they couldnt get it to fit in its original land? Maybe they cut the cost on this future coaster and that's why we are getting two coasters back to back.

Maybe doubling up on coasters with the same technology - launches and switch tracks - reduces their overhead for maintenance?

I like the name Theme Park Media had with "Drachen Spire".

But a lot of launch coasters just feel incomplete to me. I think this would fit that mold. I get it these coasters do a lot with a little space and are no sprawling coasters. I mean in all honesty all I want in a launch coaster is a revamp/redo of Batman and robin the chiller by premier. That was my fav coaster in my old home park and I miss it dearly. The backward launch with the spikes on each side ...ehh looks kind of like a fancy waterless Mac power splash. I’m sure it will be fun and I love Busch garden getting new back to back rides! Hell I love seaworld spending like drunken sailors ! Six flags take note !!
Honestly, Six Flags Great Adventure needs a more intense west coast racers, and since they are putting jersey devil in an odd place (with the theme, why isn't it over by el toro?), then it should be designed to fit over and around in the open area where rolling thunder used to be. Restore those dueling elements but it can be a complete circuit but with the extra launch like full throttle.
I hate this busch gardens williamsburg redundant garbage installment more than I hate six flags ditching an iconic eye candy arrow mega looper for a stupid B&M stand up in a park that already has/had a floorless, flyer, invert, and hyper as it was.
I know I shouldn't say this, but something as bizarre as this would be perfect for a Volcano replacement.

I might be the only one, but I think Pantheon looks way better than this. To me, this is like Pantheon 0.5.
When I heard you say Project Madrid I was reminded of how I desperately wanted and still hope this new ride would be put into a new Spain area. That is the one country I think this park needs based on how diverse it is from the other countries that each land in the park is themed to and I think they've got plenty of room behind Verbolten to build one.
Also, if this park and SeaWorld Orlando and San Diego are getting new coasters for 2021 (at least that's the rumor), I say SeaWorld San Antonio should get one to. The Texas Splashdown space has been empty for almost a decade and I say now is the perfect time to put something there.
Speaking of abandoned properties, I say they should put something in the place of Curse of the Dark Castle. I think the perfect addition in that space would be a dark shooter by Trio Tech or Sally Corp (similar to Justice League: Battle for Metropolis or Wonder Mountain's Guardian).
Finally, I was a little disappointed to hear The Crypt at Kings Dominion was getting removed because of innovative that ride was with the surrounding theme (I wonder why those Top Spins are disappearing everywhere). I say a great replacement for that ride would be the same type of ride as Harley Quinn Spinsanity at Six Flags Over Texas and Cyborg Cyberspin at Six Flags Great Adventure. I just hope this doesn't mean that section of the land could be getting rethemed in the future. After all Safari Adventure (or whatever that land is called) is a Kings Dominion classic.
I almost prefer weird rides like this more than I like some new generic ride. It really helps make a park/ride stand out.

They should get a S&S coaster like "Steel Curtain" and make it a total homage to Drachen Fire with some kind of name that works and use that space for it too. I would love to see the park get a giga, but not this RCT one-trick-pony lame wierdness. THis would literally the worst decision ever to build "wicked twisted times 100." They have enough launch coasters now too: Pantheon easy #2, sky rocket II Tempesto, and the family-thrill Verbolten. Build a cool steel replacement for one lost and another for how cool using the terrain could truly be, not this "spire" bs.

I really think that Busch Gardens is hammering down on their competition from Kings Dominion and trying to dominate the area. With KD removing Volcano and BGW opening two massive launch coasters back to back years, it looks like BGW will draw all the crowds in the coming decade. Also the launches are magnetic launches which don't have nearly as many technical issues as say, a hydraulic launch, and switch tracks aren't complicated to pull off so downtime shouldn't be an issue at all.

I was not sold on this concept at first. However after watching the POV my mind changed completely. I know that it is just a mock up and not going to be perfectly representative of the finished product, but I think that spiral spike is going to be incredible. Shooting well over three hundred feet in the air and plummeting back down is going to be so much fun. I have to wonder as well if there is a chance that BGW and Intamin could throw a game changer such as a hold brake at the peak. I am not sure if that could work with a spiral spike, but if it could it would be crazy. Regardless it’s a new coaster and while it definitely won’t please everyone, we should still be stoked about getting new coasters in back to back years at the most beautiful theme park in the world.
SEAS is building all these coasters on top of each other to build perceived asset value to sell the chain. It makes little sense economically & ROIC to do major coasters back to back. A successful coaster you can bank on a pop for about 3 years at least & than renewed residuals. SEAS is essentially stepping on itself with back to back coasters, They are going to 150M core Capex in the chain but back to back coasters at potentially several parks in the chain is not good for ROIC, but great for increasing asset value for a sale. Also, the fact SEAS is making massive efforts to cut operating cost by minimum of 50M points to cleaning up the balance sheet for a sale. They are outsourcing & cutting labor costs besides taking emphasis off animal exhibits that some potential buyers don't want to deal with any possible issues of animal treatment in the future.

I see a bunch of people bashing this ride but I don’t think they’re thinking it through. This ride is going to be tall. So it has to launch fast and possibly very intensely. That twist would be something that you don’t see much in Virginia (or the east coast to be broader). The only thing I can think of that’s similar in this region is tempesto so it’s going to be a different experience. I do wish that this was included with pantheon. It would have been awesome to have a 350+ top hat but oh well. Anyways just because this looks kind of repetitive don’t forget the stats and that it’s still probably gonna be fun if it gets built

I wonder if they would remove tempesto and send it to another park after adding this. I don't know if the executives will see the need for it at BGW. I know it isn't the most loved ride at that park. I could see it possibly going to seaworld san antonio. (also with 3 coasters so close to each other in that part of the park it is going to screw with crowd flow a ton and make that part of the park a nightmare to be in)

@@Brandon-qd2lb Other parks have does this in the past, (ex six flags ride exchange program) those rides lasted like 4 year or so at each park then moved to another one in the chain. it is a cheap way of adding a new ride at another park to draw attendance. I don't think it is that crazy of a idea if you consider what seaworld is doing right now is similar to what six flags was doing at the turn of the millennium.
If Busch Gardens Williamsburg is going to get another coaster, I should be another B&M.

Ik it's been 9 months but I think I actually knew this long before anyone else because when I was at BGW I was actually token out and the park employee told me that there was gonna be 2 coasters within a 2 year span. I have longed to go to BGW since I was a kid always wanted to ride Big Bad Wolf. If we could get a S&S Axis there with Wolf Theming well let's just say my Sea World 4 park Florida Gold pass would automatically become Platinum at this point. I want to check out Texas Stingray too. Plus BGT and SWO are my home parks so Ice Breaker, Iron Gwazi and Project Penguin all with ride again privelages for $30/mo count me in.
What if these are the original plans for Pantheon? What if Intamin wanted to make it up to BGW, because they couldnt get it to fit in its original land? Maybe they cut the cost on this future coaster and that's why we are getting two coasters back to back.
