the fact that this game was released 5 years ago as a demo and still looks amazing its just mind blowing , and btw dev didn't leave the game he is still active and working on the game

he has such a dedicated fan base hes still making over 2k per months even whole taking months long break between releases
Is the game still developed by Ondrej? Last update was on Juni 2023 v013 and until now there is no info about future updates on officjal patreon side

This game has a ton of cool hidden world building lore that you have to discover. The problem it's always had, is the chase is always too intense for people to consistantly escape long enough to be able to explore.
It's been at least 5 years since I saw IGP play through all the secrets and lore, so I'm not really sure if the dev plans on putting much more into the game. If you don't want to wait for a indeterminate amount of time to see if the dev ever fully releases the game, I'd recommend looking up a guide to playthrough for the cool lore and spooky characters. The chase isn't even close to the creepiest part of Beware.
he is active on twitter and posts updates there and a few updates to the game, but it seems very very slow; like maybe this is just a side project for him.

Hey Insym! Thanks for the videos! I just want to point out that there is much more to the game then just the chase sequence you were going through. If you take the time to explore there is a lot of environmental storytelling, sort of "quests" and checkpoints to repair your vehicle and items you can interact with. I encourage you to investigate! :D
yep the newest versions go a lot deeper than he assumed they are. you can easily outrun the goons if you turn off the lights so i really hope he comes back to this game
As someone who's followed Beware pretty closely, why is there no chase music in the latest update and why are the enemies and cars different?
I think the car looks better tbh but the music slapped and I miss it. 😢
I love this game! I remember watching IGP play it a long time ago, and he managed to sneak past that building where the guys come out, and drive past without them following. I think they eventually came, but it wasn’t triggered for a long time, and he got to explore more the map without them ramming into you constantly.
he even showed every single detail of every update 😊
I remember, he explored everywhere and tested all the theories he saw in the comments. Lots of little details in this game. He went so far that he managed to hit the invisible wall and couldn't play further. Fun times.

Losing them is very tough in this game. You have two options, try to evade them right at the beginning of the chase or cheese it. If you go off-road but don't get stuck in the mud, you can evade them. One way is to go for the dirt road at the beginning and then go inside the river on the left (I guess). Remember that they get out of the car only when they see you struggle moving. Another option to cheese is get back to starting point, turn off head lights and go off-road in the middle of the big circle, they usually don't follow but when you lose them, they patrol the map so be careful not to turn your lights on immediately after losing them.
Or hit the 1st and 2nd car after being lured, they can be damaged but good luck for the Tatra 613 and the Aro 244. Also i got a theory this game is actually inspired by the irl events of KGB kidnapping someone but in the game it's StB (Státní Bezpečnosť) cuz we all know the creator is from czech

My recurring nightmare is me either walking, biking or driving in the absolute dark and then finding out something is either following me catching up or wanting to ambush me ahead. I never see what attacks me. So yeah, watching this makes me feel very uneasy.
The dev of this game is absolutely insane! In a video he made on his channel, it took him over 45 minutes to go from one end of the map, to the other. The map is absolutely huge!
I feel like it's been years since I've seen this game on RUclips. I wonder how much more stuff they added since then.

The developer has a video where he drives the entire map at full speed no stopping and it took dude 48 minutes
That gives you an idea how massive this map is
If you drive past the building with the big bald baddies super slow they don't chase you. At least that's what it was like last time I saw a play through of it, hope you play it again ❤
They have patrol ai and they do turn their backs, but if they're not chasing you when you find the first objective, it doesn't trigger.
Edit: you're right though, you can explore unobstructed, and he did say it was an older version, might not be a lot to find yet, and I also want more, hopefully he gets the latest and puzzles it out, it's a lot of fun.

There is many more hidden secrets to this game. It would be great to watch Insym explore more after evading the enemies.
I love hearing Insym tell his childhood stories in different parents because he always ends up in imminent danger as soon as he starts 😂
I saw a playthrough of this game five years ago, and it's still not out! Glad Insym played it but I wonder if it'll ever release 🤔

Also, there's a TON more to this game, and you can sneak past the guys that chase you if you turn off your lights and take it real slow past their building. After that, there's a whole bunch of hidden mysteries around the map, and some puzzles to try and work out as well. Beware's a really cool game and I think you should give it another try with the new info!

I remember watching early development of this game played by people like IGP and other people, glad to see its still being worked on and being found by people.

I was wondering if this was the game with the facility that you drive past and wow, it actually is. Man this game takes me back YEARS on youtube. I remember everyone playing this demo and FREAKING out about it. It was such a cool little thing. That damn facility kicks everything off too lol. So nice to see it in 2024.

BTW the car that you're driving in this game Is czech Škoda 120L which was made from 1976 to 1989 in a factory in Mladá Boleslav. The game Is also from a czech developer.

The chasing cars were Lada 2103 and (I think) Renault 12 or Dacia 1300.

Hey Insym! This might be an oldie buts its definitely a goldie! If you feel like it, there's sections of maps that haven't been incorporated into the main game, and even a story line to follow, but this game definitely does not hold your hand! Highly recommend playing more of this if you're interested

The enemy car in this game reminds me of my average commute to work (white guy in a truck, y’all know the one)

There are a total of two enemy vehicles. You can also escape them by gaining some distance and turning off your lights.
Wasnt there also a semi truck that instantly kills you in s collision

It definitely needs a driving-only mode tho because I want to just drive. Let's face it that's enough of a challenge in itself lol

Just yesterday I thought on making a horror racing game. Since I never knew one I thought it was very original. Now researching I see there are several of these. Cool tho, will explore more.

The chase seems to be its biggest weakness. It doesn't feel like 'horror' or 'scary'. And as you said, they stick on you for so long, that the player gets used to being chased very quickly.
The atmosphere until the goons started chasing was more fitting of a horror game. Especially seeing the person walking inside the building.
The game loop would be better if you had reasons to stop frequently, where the horror then would take place.
Having to refuel, repair, explore etc. could have been reasons to stop the car and get out.
As it stands, I honestly don't know what else the dev could add to make it more interesting. I personally would get frustrated very quickly about the slippery controls, the cheating npc and in general having no concept of navigation (Map).
IGP has played this game too. If you watch his vids too you can see what the game was like earlier in development.

The map for this game is sooo much bigger than this. Many different locations.
What makes this game fun is that it doesn’t hold your hand. Also, I disagree about having chase breaks - it should stay like this. IRL, bad guys don’t just disappear out of nowhere and they will be persistent. And in game, it is possible to lose them. Like Insym puts in the title, it is hyper realistic so a chase break like that is just kinda unoriginal and would be like other driving games.

I remember watching the development of this game around 4 years ago with gameplay staying relatively the same but had some of the most insane and unique environments in visual story telling. A must play and highly recommend you read more about the story. This game makes the word Unique meaningless as it's beyond anything I've seen before.
You can skip the first chase, once the guy is out of sight in the window, drive very slowly so that you're not noisy, turn off your lights, once you're away from it, gun it.
You actually nearly had it on your first pass, except the headlights.

This game is a masterpiece
If as Isym puts it - there are breaks in-between the chase - it will work.
I'd love to see a way to 💲customize your vehicle and pay for gas and what not. Something to work towards. I love the environment detail, and would love to just slowly drive through a neighborhood and maybe if you break traffic rules a police comes - Otherwise there are chase sequences in-between.

Dude i was just looking this game up a day ago to see if they changed it at all looks so good now compared to years ago
The bad car in this game seems like typical bad guy, they get perfect traction and handling regardless of surface, are always slightly faster than you, you cant ever lose line of sight. That kind of things make these less stressful because you know unless you play perfect you're gonna get caught regardless.
I hope the Terrible Trio plays the beta release of Once Human. I've seen others play it, and it looks PHENOMENAL!
