I had never heard of this group, 'Dirty Loops', either but loved the sound, and...well, damn, I just loved everything about this song and these three guys. Keep doing what you're doing and I promise it will not hurt my feelings if you do more together from time to time. Great reaction and analysis as always from the both of you.
Thanks for a brilliant reaction and breakdown of this song. It's so nice when you go through it in detail like this, and point out stuff that's easily missed even when you've listened to the song hundreds of times. They all studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm, but all three of them also went to music high school (ages 16-19 in Sweden) together, though they were all in different years. Jonah and Henrik has known each other since elementary school even, and met when Jonah was 9 and Henrik was 11, so they've all known each other for 20+ years by now. They produce everything themselves, even the videos (which are almost exclusively edited by Aron), with the help of Simon Petrén. Jonah is actually a producer as well, and he doesn't consider singing his first instrument. When they started Dirty Loops in 2008, as a hobby project to have a creative outlet and a safe space to test out all their ideas, he had never sung lead at all, and didn't even know if he could. He has sung choir, mostly classical, his whole life though, even though he considers the piano/keyboard his main instrument.

About sh*t myself when i seen this thumbnail and saw you and Julia smiling in it!!! ABOUT DAMN TINE YOU TWO DID A COLLAB!! 😛😛 What an energetic reaction for an equally energetic song. The two of you play off one another so well that it made it effortless to watch and also brought this raging, dual-brained breakdown that my head just was not expecting but also exactly what it was NEEDING! Thanks to the both of you @The Charismatic Voice and @Julia Nilon
LOVE that you did this! Dirty Loops is my all-time favorite band. Love them so much. I'm 70 and I've heard a lot of music, but they are unique. They've taken bits and pieces from everywhere and combined it in a jaw-dropping manner that makes it their own. Thanks so much! (And ALWAYS read the credits... there's a strong trickster element there...)
Jonah has insane vocal range, but lets not forget that Henrik and Aron also play such a crucial role in delivering this masterpiece, the rhythm from the bass and the drum just blend so well with the vocals. It is such a joy to listen to. They are just amazing musicians.
Can't wait! The first thing I did after subscribing to your channel is search it for Dirty Loops. The second thing I did was suggest it. So glad this is finally happening. I have already watched Julia Nilon react to them, so it will be so fun to watch her introduce this super talented group to you.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. What did I just witness? A masterclass on a Dirty Loops song. I’ve seen a lot of reactions to Dirty Loops and this was unique in the best way possible. Hope you can do more of these!
Finally!!! Dirty Loops is one of the greatest groups of this generation! Although personally, I would have chosen "Next To You" over "Rock You" as an intro, but there's really no going wrong here. Jonah Nilsson also has a solo album that is absolutely brilliant!
Please do more of their discography together. I love the way you explain the vocal aspects. Dirty Loops love is contagious and it always makes me happy to see another musician fully appreciate their genius. Would recommend “Follow the Light” and “Next to You”. ❤
WOW ... WOW ... WOW !!! I adore your channel but never thought I would see you reacting to Dirty Loops... thank you Julia for introducing Elizabeth to this amazing band. Made my day. 🥰🥰🥰
Ah so happy you're finally doing Dirty Loops! I love Julia's anticipation knowing what's coming and Elizabeth's reaction and breakdown was spot on as usual...
Oooohkay this is freaky ahaha, I was literally listening to Dirty Loops in the car this monring for the first time in about 6 months? And thought “man it’d be cool to see Elizabeth analyse one of their songs” 🤣❤️ looking forward to it!
Besides that they are true masters off their respective instruments, (and Jonah is not even considering his voice as his first instrument) they are perfectionists when it comes to making these videos. They have said in different interviews, that it is sometimes very difficult, to remember what they did in the recorded version. Like Jonah's totally insane run in "Hit me", that was a onetime-recording. They are absolutely amazing from all perspectives.
I found Dirty Loops via their Rolling in the Deep cover. To me, Jonah had elements of Stevie Wonder going on in that one. Instant fan. Love them, they are top notch musicians who can really lay down a funky groove.
Dirty Loops are cookin' with gas. They have so many great tracks. One of my favs, which is very underrated, because it doesn't feature some of their high end pyrotechnics is Breakdown. It's such a slinky, sultry groove, with the drum and bass fills just subdividing the hell out of it, and with stellar vocal gymnastics on top, it's one of their more mature pieces of arrangement. The key modulation for the outro is just fantastic. Another fav is Work Shit Out, some cool jazz exploration on that, with a great drum solo. Follow The Light is also awesome. When it comes down to it, I can't complain about anything they've done, it's all good. These guys are all masters on their respective instruments, they all understand melody, harmonic complexity, rhythm and complex subdivisions of it, they understand arrangements, they know how to impart emotion into it all, and nuance is second nature to them in every aspect of that. I don't know what else you could ask from professionals than that. It's also crazy that Julia love Dirty Loops so much yet, she hasn't reacted to them on her channel, at all.
You both should do some of these with a percussionist. I am constantly amazed at how both of you pick out drum/bass elements that complement the vocals to create an effect!
Yeah theres definitely Michael Jackson influences in there, but also.. Theres a little Stevy Wonder in there too in some of his jamming. He flows along with his music, just like Stevy does.

You two are great together! Your mind gets blown every 10 seconds and Julia is just grooving and loving it! This the collab that we have all been waiting for so thank you both so much for making it happen :D

Just from the preview I can already tell we are in for a treat of epic proportions with Elizabeth and Julia! Seatbelt has been engaged for the ride of a lifetime!
I only started watching Julia a few days ago, and now you guys make videos together?? And you're analyzing/reacting to one of my favorite bands of all time??? You guys are amazing! You two nerding out with each other is so much fun to see. I can't wait for more!
I've been following them for more than 10 years and saw them live. As a jazz musician I really appreciate how they, with all their incredible talent and musicianship, give the listeners a kind of pop experience.
I have been putting off watching this video on account of the time commitment but tonight was the night and boy did I enjoy everything about this wonderful breakdown. The comments were great and the chemistry the two of you had throughout was such a perfect match for the great Loops energy. I just loved every minute of this. The two of you have given rise to a dream in me. I know it is a lot to ask but oh how I would love to hear the two of you do a breakdown of Dirty Loops "Next to You". There are many of us out here who consider "Next to You" to be Loops "Bohemian Rhapsody". With everything that implies. It is truly a band tour-de-force and I do not think Jonah vocally leaves anything out of this song. And those choruses oh the choruses and every single voice is Jonah's-do not believe what your eyes are telling you. You'll just have to watch the video to see what I mean. But and I reiterate, all voices are Jonah's. Wonderful effort you two. A delight and an education.
This was phenomenal! I’ve loved Dirty Loops for years and have tried to get friends into them but to a non-trained ear often they feel it’s too busy. Here’s hoping you’ll do more! Hit me, Next to you, Rolling in the deep, Work shit out… they’ve got tons of tasty aural candy!
And I mean this in the best possible way.... NEEEEERRRRRDS! :D It's amazing how you amplify each other's enjoyment in the technicalities of music. A joy to watch!
My two favourite reactors and my favourite band! WOW! You are so delightful together. As Elizabeth has said, "I love, love, love it", and as Julia has said, "dang!" ♥ ♥
Great reaction video! Much more substance than most reaction videos! I would love to see a reaction on "Next to you" by Dirty Loops! It's an amazing song, and a mindblowing thing in that song is that Jonah is doing ALL the vocals. He made his own qoire with about 20 layers or something. :) I would also love to see a reaction on Breakdown. Jonahs vocals is amazing in that one as well.
YES! Finally!! 😆😜 Thank you, this was so much fun you guys! 👏 Such an awesome group. And yes, they DID study together at the royal school of music in Stockholm. Welcome down the DL rabbit hole! Maybe you wanna check out their version of "Thriller" next? 😏🕺
Damn, they sound amazing. I've heard of them before, but this is the first time I've heard them. I might have to check them out. Also, great collab! Always nice to see Julia's amazing smile 😃
Seeing Julia watch Elizabeth for reactions fully makes me understand why watching channels like this is so wonderful, it's a joy to see someone enjoy something that you love. Amazing analysis and a delightfully heartfelt reaction.
My oh my. I am having so much fun watching the two of you have so much fun listening to Dirty Loop’s have so much fun preforming this song. Thank you I needed this after a long day at work. And thank you for introducing me to Dirty Loops I think they have a new fan in me.
I would love to see your reaction to their song “Breakdown”. I feel like that song goes under the radar but has some amazing vocals,a great slow groove, and is just a gorgeous song.
This is the serotonin hit i needed today...Julia living all of our dreams by being in the room, seeing Elizabeth react live and getting to explain the band/context
Henrik and Aron studied Jazz improv, and Jonah studied classical composition, which is where the very lush, post-romantic influenced synth and key arrangement comes from.
Love seeing you discover Dirty Loops! You should definitely check out their Work Shit Out and Next To You videos, as well. On a completely different and more intimately vocal-focused vibe, though, I'd really love to see your reaction to Azam Ali. O Euchari, O Felix, A Chantar M'er, or O Vis Aeternitatis, in particular.
The " beatbox" sound you guys were trying to figure out, I believe it's actually a snare drum recorded and then played backwards. Rick Beato has a video he did explaining exactly how it's done. Quite interesting
It's exciting to you you and Julia reacting together. I record your reactions, and absolutely loved how you both fan girled listening to each other breaking down this song. Love it, love it, live it. Keep up the fantastic work
back again.. i love how much fun you both have with Jonah's singing and I feel julia's pain with the track being interrupted... Do more Dirty Loops! :-)

Love Dirty Loops, fond memories take me straight back to 2014 and seeing them just get better and better over the years! 🤩 Thank you for this! 🙏🏻 Elizabeth, I’ve sent you a very well-spoken email with a request - I’d really love to chat with you about this 😌
Hadn't heard of Julia before. Shocked that there is another person out there both as passionate in their reactions as you are, AND with the ability to explain what they are hearing in a way that is so descriptive, yet easy to comprehend. Peas in a pod, you both are! Also never heard of Dirty Loops before. What a great funky, happy 80's throwback feel. My subscriptions rose by 2 today; where will I ever find the time. Lastly, I was having a crap day today, but between your enthusiasm and their funky grooves... now I just wanna dance. 🕺 Thank you!! 🥰

with how much you enjoyed this i REALLY hope you do "follow the light" too. that's the song that got me into Dirty Loops, and it's another BANGER.
Dirty Loops probably just doubled their Spotify following. I'd never heard of them before, but I'm definitely doing a deep dive now.
Welcome to the world of DL. Music will not be the same once you've jumped into that Rabbit Hole. They are quite simple, in a league of their own.
FINALLY!!!! I've been waiting for this for soooo long! Please check out "Next to You" at some point, his vocals are even nuttier.
And I mean this in the best possible way.... NEEEEERRRRRDS! :D
It's amazing how you amplify each other's enjoyment in the technicalities of music. A joy to watch!
OMG I’ve been waiting for you to discover them!!!!!!!! Classically trained musicians are AMAZING!
And and and…. We LOVE Julia!!!
My two favourite reactors and my favourite band! WOW! You are so delightful together. As Elizabeth has said, "I love, love, love it", and as Julia has said, "dang!" ♥ ♥
I’m so glad you got to Dirty Loops! Definitely look into the song Follow The Light from their collab with Cory Wong.
I love Follow the Light too. I’d like her to check out Next to You as well.
My two favorite music nerds collaborating! This is the crossover I needed!
I would also love to see a reaction on Breakdown. Jonahs vocals is amazing in that one as well.
Watching you two nerding out about music is just really great.
Thank you very much, ladies! You have made me aware of DIRTY LOOPS and thus broadened my musical horizons. Enriched!
YES! Finally!! 😆😜
Thank you, this was so much fun you guys! 👏
Such an awesome group.
And yes, they DID study together at the royal school of music in Stockholm.
Welcome down the DL rabbit hole!
Maybe you wanna check out their version of "Thriller" next? 😏🕺
Hmm. I never heard of this band before. I love what I hear. I will definitely be checking them out.
Ooooo, this is my guilty pleasure.... My favorite ladies with a music reaction!!!
Holy Sh**! Finally! How long have I been waiting for this!!!
Two of my favorite reactors!!! Too much beauty and talent in one rom❤💥❤💥❤💥❤
This is the serotonin hit i needed today...Julia living all of our dreams by being in the room, seeing Elizabeth react live and getting to explain the band/context
Dirty loops are amazing, I’m glad you’ve checked them out. They don’t have any boring songs so anything else you check out will be just as good
Henrik and Aron studied Jazz improv, and Jonah studied classical composition, which is where the very lush, post-romantic influenced synth and key arrangement comes from.
OOOOH YAAAAY!!! :D I know you'll love "Next To You" or "Follow The Light" as well :D love this
The " beatbox" sound you guys were trying to figure out, I believe it's actually a snare drum recorded and then played backwards. Rick Beato has a video he did explaining exactly how it's done. Quite interesting
I enjoy both your channel and Julia's. This was a great collaboration. I would love to see you two do more together.
That was amazing! Two of my favouritest reactors reacting one of my favourite bands! Løve it!
It's exciting to you you and Julia reacting together. I record your reactions, and absolutely loved how you both fan girled listening to each other breaking down this song. Love it, love it, live it. Keep up the fantastic work
You need to do more dirty loops videos!😊 One of my favorite is their rendition of “Over the Horizon” the Samsung ringtone.
🐙I have been looking forward to this one! 🐙Very nice to discover this with Julia leading you trough it!
And finally we got some JAZZ on the channel!!
If i may say, what an awesome group with music. U 2 girls are my favs, always a feel good reaction, thnx so much🕺🌻
I also get a Stevie Wonder vibe from some of this.
Yeah very much so…. 👍
back again.. i love how much fun you both have with Jonah's singing and I feel julia's pain with the track being interrupted... Do more Dirty Loops! :-)
This was incredible, really enjoyed this.
Julia has always been one of the best. And actually there’s a lot out there that are equally good. Check out the fairy voice godmother next, lol.
